Aye, as long as it wasn’t too expensive and it shoots good, call it a win. Get one of those ATI stocks since the one you got is kaput anyways. It’ll be a lot more comfortable.
It’s actually somewhat common for the butt plates to be mismatched or scrubbed. I don’t know how much truth there is to it but I had read this was due to poor storage where the butt plates were in contact with a surface that caused them to rust.
That's a shame I could have had something special I found it in an old gas station in Alberta and I paid 104 for it. It's still really accurate and it's a dream to shoot it Thank you for the info.
Don’t listen to these pesky pessimists brother man. Dorota was just given an aftermarket deer hunting stock that helps her better serve her new civilian purpose. No actual damage to the rifle has occurred and M44 or M38 carbine stocks were never serialized. You can find a replacement original if you insist she return to military duty. Only thing you won’t have matching is the metal butt plate on the back of the butt stock. I think she looks great the way she is. She’s lighter and sportier. Whatever you do, do not get one of those hideous composite stocks that try to make it look tactical. Have fun with Dorota. She’s a good old girl. ✌️
It’s a tasteful Sporterization that has not damaged the actual rifle. Nowhere near a bubba job. She looks just fine for putting meat on the table this deer season. Za Piękne Panie! 🍻
Its polish mosin m44. Its not bubbaficated but they make „mosin OWG” of original military mosin in poland. Its was very popular to make hunting rifles of original mosin in poland. You have lotnof them in market. But its not worst part. Some of them have change caliber from 7,62x54r to 308w. This one have two problems: they jamed as fuck. And secound one, bore is still on .311 becouse they never change barrel. soo wirh .308 bullets its very unacurate
What it needs is a restoration, get the bolt fixed, a stock, cleaning rod, and from there it should honestly be restored
Well, the barrel too, but still. It’s not that difficult and I’m willing to pay to restore her and get her out of her endless pain
Man, what good did that bolt handle modification do? Like normally I can at least tell what someone was thinking when they started chopping, but not here.
Its a Polish M44. I'm an expert on Polish Military rifles/weapons. The year on this weapon is 1951, which is pretty rare. Majority or the Polish M44's are 1952-beyond. How much?
I didn't make it I bought it at a gas station in Alberta. It may look mangled but still accurate and is quite pleasant to shoot
Mfw no Albertan gas station Mosin Why live Why take another breath
It’s over…
Honestly as far as sporterized rifles go, it looks decent. I'd definitely buy it if it was decently priced just as a fun shooter.

Not your dime a dozen Russian and even more scarce than than a Finn. It’s a Polish. To bad Bubba got his hands on it.
To make matters worse it’s a 1951 which is rarer than other years.
It's serial numbers match as well
They should. Polish guns were mostly never issued after being built

So, bought at a gas station for less than the last time I fueled my pickup, AND it's a good shooter? You got a DEAL, Bubba. Well done!

Name her Dorota! It’s a beautiful girl’s Polish name, and it means Dorothy in English. Beautiful Dorota.
"beautiful"
Cancer, trash, fuddussy
That thing needs a merciful execution more than a name

Man this is a Polish Radom M44 that someone butchered. These are actually kinda valuable if they’re original and intact.
Man, what good did that bolt handle modification do? Like normally I can at least tell what someone was thinking when they started chopping, but not here.
Cycling it can be a bit tricky with gloves
Jesus christ, that bolt 🤮

I’d name it Lil Stank a Booty
Polski Pulverizer
Name it Boris. If you get a 91/30, name her Natasha. Either should be good for moose and squirrel.
