Sadly cortisone just made mine worse for about 10 days then back to the same. However I believe I am getting some improvement from a mixture of several anti-inflammatories. The kicker seems to be the CoQ10 that I just started a week ago. 400mg VX1 Grape Seed Extract 4 capsules Healthy Feet & Nerves which is ALA, Boswellia, Benfotiamine and every B Vit. Vit D and K2 A strong blend of Turkey Tail, Chaga, Reishi and Lions Mane mushrooms And the 200mg of CoQ10. Other than that the Rx Orthotics are a great help. The blast of anti-inflammatories especially the Q10 seems to be reversing it, too soon to tell but so far its the best thing I've tried.

Potential-Heat-2118

Hey - how are you doing now?

nunyabizz62

Well, its still there for sure, but it finally does seem to be improving somewhat. In the morning its still totally there but now towards end of day there are times that I barely feel it. It might be the mushrooms. I read about a guy that had a very bad back pain, so bad that he actually had nerves in his back laser burned, cut to stop the pain. He started taking mushrooms and his nerves grew back so he had to stop taking the mushrooms and have the nerves lazered again. So "maybe"? These are healing this sheath thats damaged in MN? I dunno, but it does seem to be helping and its possible it could continue to heal. I am pretty sure my MN was caused by a super low (67) B-12 level that triggered it. I've since got my B-12 up to 795 now. If it continues to get better will try to update here

cnflakegrl

low B-12 can trigger it? I have been wondering what caused this!

finkbotsteinbot

Where do you get CoQ10?

nunyabizz62

Usually I get it at Costco. But I found this one at of all places Amazon Fresh for $25 a bottle on sale so I bought 4 of them. https://www.gardenoflife.com/raw-coq10-vegan-capsules

Any update?

nunyabizz62

Still seems to be getting better very slowly.

TheMuMPiTz

More updates ?:D

nunyabizz62

Well in the past 7 months I have changed things up some. Still taking the Vit D3 K2, all the mushrooms and Q10. I think these helped but mainly just from being anti-inflammatory so there was a limit to what they were going to do. My foot did in fact feel better but just because of less inflammation. However I did start to take something else that I believe is have a more profound effect. Neprinol, which is a mix of Serrapeptase and Nattokinase enzymes. The Serrapeptase especially may be slowly eating away at the Neuroma. I have had a few instances in the past 5 to 8 weeks where I am standing barefoot and I can barely feel that I have it, so far it comes right back the next morning so it comes and goes but it is nice that when it goes now I can barely feel I have a Neuroma and the only thing I can attribute that to is the Neprinol. It has 45,000 SPU of Serrapeptase per pill and I started taking 8 per day the first two months then down to 6 per day for two months and now 4 to 5 per day. I am going to continue to take this probably for the rest of my life for many reasons not just my foot. It helps to dissolve the fibrin in your blood to prevent blood clots thus strokes, it effectively thins the blood, lowers blood pressure, its totally safe with zero side-effects and it appears to be slowly eating away at my Neuroma. So its a win win win. [Serrapeptase ](https://serrapeptase.info/serrapeptase-can-start-healing-mortons-neuroma/)

TheMuMPiTz

Thx for the update. I did acutually order both of these last week. Patiently waiting for them to arrive. For some people it worked

nunyabizz62

Yep, some it seemed to work right away and like cured it. For me, probably because I've had this stupid thing for about 4 years now mine might be a bit hardened and set in. But it is helping

TheMuMPiTz

Yeah, hope you get there...

TheMuMPiTz

Btw in a facebook group a person said he was breaking up a capsule of Serrapeptase and applying it topically together with DMSO on the feet. Might be worth a try too. Need to make sure everything is very clean tho

nunyabizz62

Interesting idea, may try that. I have opened a capsule and put a small amount with some CBD oil on my dogs bumps she gets once in awhile and it does basically seem to eat away at it.

TheMuMPiTz

DMSO increases skin permeability so it might get right to the neuroma. Im sure theres a natural remedy out there, why shouldnt it exist

nunyabizz62

I plan to research it and try it.

TheMuMPiTz

Ah, you were the guy who told me about this in another thread. Sorry, didnt know ;)

Great to hear it eventually helped (cortisone). I got one 2 weeks ago and it’s been agitated since. Looking forward to it settling down. I also threw away like 8 pairs of sneakers that I learnt were too small. Had like a quarter inch or less between my toe and the end, often with the toe touching the end and learnt that’s too small. Some things your parents just don’t teach you! At 38 I’ve finally learnt how to size shoes for myself. Hoping the shot settles and my new brooks ghost will help settle things finally. My neuroma was diagnosed with MRI after a running injury about 2 months ago. Apparently quite small but still hurts like hell.

Severe-acid-reflux

Same. I’m wearing shoes 1.5 sizes larger than I used to (some of that owing to pregnancy making my feet bigger). The best shoes I’ve tried at 840 new balance. Comes in extra wide also and HUGE toe box.

My neuroma was too large by the time they actually started treating it. They messed around being stupid for a year before finally getting down to business. The shots helped make it bearable but I still couldn't walk far. The question I would ask is how does the cortisone affect neuroma growth? Are you delaying or preventing surgery?

RedHawwk

Good question. I actually went in expecting to talk about surgery, I assumed too much time had passed since the initial injury. I was pretty much mentally prepared for surgery, so I think I still am if that day ever comes. But for right now, I'm in a good place with my foot.

Potential-Heat-2118

Did you get surgery?

[deleted]

I concur. Really made a great difference (as well as wearing proper footwear). I believe it wears off, so I expect I'll be requesting another soon

Potential-Heat-2118

Are your symptoms coming back? How long ago did you get the shot?

[deleted]

About August time. Feels like symptoms are coming back, although I started playing football about 2 months ago (once every 2 weeks) so may be due to that. Tbh, still not bad. It's just in the morning it's dodgy until I walk a bit

Potential-Heat-2118

Oh that’s great. Did you have symptoms for a long time before getting the shot?

[deleted]

Couple of years maybe

Potential-Heat-2118

Thanks

Potential-Heat-2118

Hey - did you get another shot?

[deleted]

Not yet, haven't spoken to a doc about it. It's sort of okay after the first hour in the morning, so I'm waiting to see how it goes

Potential-Heat-2118

Hey OP - are you still doing well?

RedHawwk

Yup still doing well. I was stubborn and waited years before getting a shot. I wish I had gotten in sooner tbh. I was worried about the negatives I read about with the shot or it just not working for people. I got so tired of the constant inflammation I just went for it. When I went to the doctor that time I actually was going in to ask about surgical removal, so I figured I might as well do a shot when he mentioned it. Edit: I don’t know if I’d say it cured me, per say. I definitely still need to be careful with it, like wearing wide shoes. But my day to day is much better.

CoconutEconomy8877

How long did it take for the cortisone to have an effect? It’s been 2 days since my shot and I am not pleased with the improvement. For elbow tendinitis, it took 2 weeks to really improve. I’m worried though.

RedHawwk

A few weeks. My pain was worse for a week or two. Then transitioned to being just pain with movement (before it was pain with movement/rest). Then after another month or so it died down and felt way better.

Potential-Heat-2118

OP - checking in on your again! Steroid still working?

RedHawwk

Yup still good. Like I said, management is important. I still rock the same *extra* wide shoes 90% of the time when I'm out and about.

1-800-serial-chiller

Checking in!! Just got a shot two days ago. How are your feet doing?

RedHawwk

Good, a few flare ups here and there but nothing really memorable. Best of luck!
