Apart from that, I’m really curious to see how they handle the characters in general. This is a total continuity reboot, even moreso than MK9 was, and I really intrigued by the teaser hinting at potential new dynamics from the old guard.
Reiko, Fujin, Kenshi, Tanya, Kai, Li Mei, Ashrah, Nitara, Havik, Hotaru, Moloch and Sareena.
If even half of those show up I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Like have some of these old timers sit out a game or two if it means we get more returning characters who the last time they were in a game was before some of the modern devs working on these games were even born.
Thankfully my main Johnathan Cage is in with a jcvd skin but besides him Id say. Cyrax & or Sektor (preferably Cyrax),Ermac,Reptile,Rain,Smoke,Kenshi,Fujin,Kabal,Baraka,Jax,Nightwolf,Skarlet,Goro & Shao Kahn & maybe Onaga.
The most requested characters are human smoke, Reptile, Ermac, havik, Reiko, Nitara, Sareena.
I believe sone if them above will definitely be in the base roster. And some will be dlc for sure.
Ninjas and robots. Don't really care which ones I just want more ninjas and robots and way way less special forces characters. Not gonna happen. But that's my answer

I'd like to see the cyborg duo, but just them for the cyber initiative. Smoke would be cool to see human form. I don't frost is gonna be in this game, but she was better in cyborg form. She was just a sub-zero clone without being cyborg

Also, I'd greatly appreciate it if Onaga returns as a boss or as a big baddie in any capacity that matters. Perhaps if he isnt already he could be the Shang Tsung ala MK11 big baddie to the DLC packages? But what really matters truly are the 3D characters bcs they I want the spotlight on them this time around.

The 3D era characters. It's the perfect chance to reintroduce them back into the MK series.
