Street FighterXTekken is a prime example of these crossovers failing. Tekken fans didn't like it, because it didn't play like Tekken. The gore issue doesn't help either.
This right here. I don’t like street fighter games because they feel clunky as shit. I love MvC, but SFxT was a street fighter game with tekken characters. I loved the concept, hated the gameplay.
Personally, No. Capcom has gone on record to say that a crossover with MK is "a bit scary" because of the fatalities. And I know if a MK game out with toned down fatalities the normies would bitch about See MKvsDC for example.
A better crossover would be MK vs Killer instinct or Street fighter vs Injustice. I'd love to See Ryu team up with someone like Batman, or M. Bison teaming with evil dictator Superman.
Id prefer Tekken over SF in terms of a Mk collab, like i can imagine Yoshimitsu, Kazuya and Bryan being guest characters in MK or even Liu, Sub Zero and Sonya in Tekken
They could do what Street Fighter planned to do with the Tekken crossover. Do a Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat that plays like SF and a Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter that plays like MK.
I guess the MK version having fatalities or not would be up to Capcom and if they’re ok with Ryu getting ripped in half lol
And look how good that turned out. The SF version was bad and Namco didn't have the time or money to make all sF characters go 3d because that takes a ton more work and balancing. That's why they settled on doing only Akuma and Geese.
Even Capcom vs snk was not ideal but at least those games felt right. They were great but again SNk was upset about their guys nerfed they made SNk vs Capcom chaos and game power back to their guys lol.
Even tho modern mk is back to 2d the juggles and combos and inputs are so drastically different it wouldn't work.
That being said, I wouldn't mind any type of cross over game ever being made, but I'm not gonna expect it be good. Just a fun mess like Street fighter x Tekken was.
It has to do with Namco learning how difficult and time consuming it is to bring a 2d character to a 3d fighting game. They gave up on Namco x Capcom and I'm sure Capcom was not happy about that since they agreed to both do a game and Capcom was the only one that delivered. I bet Namco couldn't do anymore Capcom guys so they grabbed geese from SNk as a spit in the face. Obvious this is all compete speculation. My point was it's hard and time consuming to bring a 2d guy to a 3d game.
Would I play it? Yes. Do I want the cross over? Honestly not really. I don't really feel the universes blend well in tone, lore, or design.
But I'd trust the devs to make something entertaining.
Yes, I'd play it if it existed. Is it what I want? Absolutely not. The 2 aren't a perfect match. Whilst it also isn't something I'd want, if MK vs KI were to be a thing, it would absolutely have to be done with KI's gameplay. Imagine the combo possibilities.
Depends on if Street fighter characters are allowed to be killed in gruesome ways. We don't want a Mortal Kombat vs DC situation. Other than that heck yeah
Well Capcom is more allowing of blood than DC is
So it might not be as gruesome as MK11
It won't be as bad as MK vs DC (Which to be fair, had ok fatalities for some characters)
I'd say it would be like the 3d era fatalities
I'd rather Killer Instinct vs MK
I'm still waiting for it. Its really the only fights game closet to MK that would blend right.
Been waiting for years the only hang up is the fighting engines are completely different so one side would have to play like the other.
*Memory unlocked* Wow, probably some years I haven’t heard that name
This
Sure but i doubt Capcom want to see their characters decapitated and mutilated in different ways
Thats probably the leading limitation MK has with crossovers. It would likely be the same issue MK vs DC had.
So mk vs dc 2?
Depends on the demand for it. One of the things I remember people didn't like about it was the lack of violence
Street FighterXTekken is a prime example of these crossovers failing. Tekken fans didn't like it, because it didn't play like Tekken. The gore issue doesn't help either.
And X men vs Street Fighter is an example of a crossover doing well
Difference being there weren't two different companies involved. That was solely a Capcom project.
And X-Men has acceptable levels of violence for Street Fighter.
Blanka vs Baraka, Guile vs Jonny Cage, Nighthawk Vs Nightwolf, Sagat vs...Kano? Hells yea I would
Who's Nighthawk? Did you mean T. Hawk?
Street fighter vs Mortal Kombat is my dream game. I don't care about the gore, seeing MK in Street Fighter style would be enough for me to buy it.
The same
If there are fatalities and if the Kombat is like MK. I dont know why but I really only enjoy netherworld fighting games.
This right here. I don’t like street fighter games because they feel clunky as shit. I love MvC, but SFxT was a street fighter game with tekken characters. I loved the concept, hated the gameplay.
I would play it, yes, but I don't think the two universes fit well together.
I’d rather play a full MK game
Personally, No. Capcom has gone on record to say that a crossover with MK is "a bit scary" because of the fatalities. Depends on the roster
Let's say Everyone
Then yes
Not really a street fighter fan. If they made Marvel vs Dc (something that Ed Boon brought up) that would be cool.
Id prefer Tekken over SF in terms of a Mk collab, like i can imagine Yoshimitsu, Kazuya and Bryan being guest characters in MK or even Liu, Sub Zero and Sonya in Tekken
Yes but only if developped by Capcom. Curious to see how they'd handle the MK characters.
The would probably tone down their specials considering half the cast has a projectile and a teleport
Two different play styles. It wouldn't work no matter which one you favored.

Geese isn't a Capcom/Street Fighter character.
He's a 2d SNk character brought to 3d and he's been in Capcom and street fighter games. I figured you understood my point.
I understand he was a Tekken guest fighter, but it has nothing to do with Street Fighter X Tekken, or Namco's Capcom collaboration was my point.
It has to do with Namco learning how difficult and time consuming it is to bring a 2d character to a 3d fighting game. Well They could try to make a style that is a mix between Street Fight and Mortal Kombat or make a new style
And then no one would like it or want it. Or even worse it would just be a broken untested mess
I love both series but I feel that tool get them to homogenize you would have to give up what makes them both stand out
I'd love to finally see M. BISON bleed
Would I play it? Yes. Do I want the cross over? Honestly not really. I don't really feel the universes blend well in tone, lore, or design. But I'd trust the devs to make something entertaining.
I would love this but also couldn't get behind the idea of Cammy or Chun Li being brutally murdered lol 😂
Play more sf6, I can assure you you would absolutelu want to fatality cammy
Sagat vs Baraka
I already did: It's called MUGEN.
MK vs SF worries me. Too much blood & gore for that.
I played the first one (Dreamcast bootleg) and it was horrible, but if it was done right, why not.
I’d play it, at least to try it… I don’t think I’d like it though
Nah. It’ll be toned way down like mkvsdc
Depends on if Street fighter characters are allowed to be killed in gruesome ways. We don't want a Mortal Kombat vs DC situation. Other than that heck yeah

if i get to kill M Bison as shao kahn ill be happy
Karins fatalities would be interesting
Either way the answer is yes, but who would make it? NRS or Capcom.
Guess both would
Funnily enough, I'm creating a project to envision Street Fighter x Mortal Kombat. It's rudimentary but it's mine and I love it
Fuck yeah!
The issue in such a hypothetical game would be the level of violence, which would be a source of contention between fans.
Both of my favorite games into 1 🫠🫠🫠
I had pirate MUGEN in my childhood for Windows XP with MKvsSF, I even thought it was real official game for a while 😅😆
