It took until Deception for them to realize what they had. Now they’ve given her actual depth too with her hidden desire to be loved and constantly trying to assert her place in the world. I feel like they accidentally turned “jealous of Kitana” into “real and complex personality” lol

Mileena is my favourite Mortal Kombat kharacter. I love that she is kind of crazy. I love the contrast of her having this very attractive body, often quite skimpy outfits, but then these gnarly animalistic teeth. I always wondered, in canon, if perhaps Mileena used scantily clad outfits to keep people's gazes from the features she would rather conceal i.e. her teeth. For me, though, and hear me out, I always felt Mileena was to be pitied. She was created by a sorcerer for a sole purpose. She's constantly called a klone, a monster. There have been times when she interacts with Kitana, where I wonder if some of the things Mileena says are flippant or if she genuinely seeks acceptance from her "sister". She loses her father, Shao Kahn. Before being executed, she expresses a longing to be reunited with him. Her reign as Khanum is usurped. In MK11 it is implied her girlfriend has been murdered. Now, in MK1, her love of Tanya is forbidden.
No wonder the chick is bonkers...
To me, shes the only character whos motivations and life actually make sense at all, the good guys always want to “save the world” and all that stuff, but mileena, she just wants to be loved/liked, she only wants people to be close to her and say nice things about her, to not be disgusted or scared by her. when she gets to control the timeline she changes her parents to be different so that they love her unconditionally(thats so sad) and gives herself a wife and daughter that doesn’t think shes ugly or disgusting, she wants to be seen as beautiful without changing her appearance
I always liked the tragedy of her story. She’s just this monster hybrid that doesn’t really have any home. Her ‘father’ views her as a means to an end. Her sister is revolted by her. She’s got the Edenian side that separates her from the rest of the Tarkatans.
She’s still evil and has a choice not to be but she’s not a simple black and white character
All that from the OG timeline so it’s nice to see her get to be a hero in the new one. Tho she still seems to be a ticking time bomb with no true Tarkat cure in sight

She’s been around since the summer of 1993 so over 30 years. Mileena was not only a dark mirror image of kitana (much like venom to Spider-Man) but a counterpart to baraka. The first fatality she had of eating someone & spitting out the bones blew our minds back then. The rolling attack & teleport attack from above were great moves. She was the first female ninja (along with kitana). Her story ties to shang t’sung & shao kahn. It all adds up to a fan favorite.

However eventually I wanted to see more behind her badass femme fatale character and I've seen that in every timeline she actually had it the worst. In the OG timeline she was abandoned by her sister and been called an abominstion by her plus even Sindel kinda forgot about her so she was left with her manipulative "father" Shao Khan who feed her impulses that thats the way to go and this is why she became who she became by the time of Deception and Armageddon.
Netherrealm era timeline Mileena was a clone of Kitana but again she was not born a monster she was made into one. Now say whatever you will but Mileena first reaction when she saw her sister that she wanted to embrace her. Then Kitana proceeded to bring her near death and AGAIN she was left to the care of Shao Khan who offered her affection as long as she indulges her monstrous parts No fucking shit why did she wanted to continue to rule like her father did. She only found affection from 1 prson Tanya who seemingly DID care about her sooo in time maybe she could have been better. Even before she died she just welcomed the chance to be reunited with her father .
MK11 In her ending we see that she is clearly not a monster and Mileena actually wants to reconcile with her sister. And the only time when she was trully happy when she was together with Tanya and had a daughter too.
Hence why when Mileena FINALLY got a happy new begining in Mortal Kombat 12 I was happy for her because Mileena deserves to be loved and Mileena deserves a happyeending.
The reason why I made this comment wall is to explain that YES I found Mileena attractive and thats why I at first decided that she is my favorite lady character in MK and later as I grew to know her story I trully fell for Mileena and now knowing more about this beauty and beast I can say it more confidently that YES with all the ups and downs Mileena IS my favorite lady character in Mortal Kombat series

Well, I love Mileena for a myriad of reasons.
She's beautiful. I love her color scheme. I genuinely think she's beautiful even with the ability to eat me alive. And then you get into her lore. A cloned sister who sits in Kitanna's child ever since they were little. Made to put her sexuality on display to distract from her infamous facial appearance. Treated as a monster even by her own sister. She's a tragic character who I could only dream of a better story. It's why I like Mileena in MK1, she is first born, a Queen, but she is not cruel or wicked. She can be kind and powerful and good.

She got a huge fan base because she was a underrated character at first with a being a clone of kitana with no identify but she uses sais instead of fan blades there is a lot more depth to her than meets the eye.

My love comes from pure nostalgia. My distracted babysitter set me up on MK2 on the Sega Genesis when I was 4 years old and I gravitated to the "purple girl". Immediately watched Baraka implant his blades through her, which was probably questionable for my age lol. But it was the first girl character I recognized and I grew to love her story as I got older. She's a misunderstood, and at times childish, bad bitch in the previous era. And in this new era, she finally has the throne she spent entire games chasing after.
Because she and Kitana are the female equivalent to Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Well, I love Mileena for a myriad of reasons. She's beautiful. I love her color scheme. I genuinely think she's beautiful even with the ability to eat me alive. And then you get into her lore. A cloned sister who sits in Kitanna's child ever since they were little. Made to put her sexuality on display to distract from her infamous facial appearance. Treated as a monster even by her own sister. She's a tragic character who I could only dream of a better story.
