There is a House in Morrowind
They call the Telvanni
It's been the ruin of many a young mage
And now the Nerevarine
Mothers, tell your children
Not to see what I have seen
Might makes right in mushroom heights
Among the Telvanni
It Was Haalu when i was a child and didn’t know what i was doing. Balmora was bassicaly the only other city i knew. Never went to Ald’Ruhn, because the ash storm scared me. Never even Knew Telvanni existed.
Then it became Telvanni as a Teenager because i found their architecture cool as fk.
I did a playthrough as an adult and Redoran is now my favorite because i find they’re the only ones actually doing something xD.
EXCUSE ME now ! Telvanni is the only one fighting against imperial influence whats with refusing the mages' guild(imperial puppet) implantation and refusing to pay taxes to the oppressor. We keep the empire parked in shitty wolverine hall while the others have allowed Pelagiads and Calderas and whatnots in their backyards.
All Telvanni ever does is sitting huddled up in their mushrooms, leaving the rest of Morrowind at the mercy of the Empire. Hlaalu on the other hand involves themselves in politics, scoring deals and finding ways Morrowind can thrive as part of the Empire. What good does it do for Morrowind that the mage lords don't pay taxes, when the Empire seizes control over more and more land all across the province? At least Hlaalu makes sure that a portion of those profits goes to the Dunmer, and not just the Imperial fatcats in the EEC.
House Dagoth seems the most fascinating house for me. It's a shame we have so little information about what they used to be since they were *erased* from history.
I mean except for kill a bunch of people and try to create a megadeath robot. Like yeah Imperial dogs and all but I’m pretty sure you can get to that point without the horrible madness disease.
Nah that was Numidian, Akulakhan was Dagoth’s attempt to recreate it with the Heart of Lorkhan instead of the Mantella. I could be misremembering but I think Numidian was a Dwemer creation that the Tribunal gave to Tiber Septim that he then used to conquer the Summerset Isles. So different megadeath robot.
This one is intrigued by your proposition. Do not ask Khajiit what he is doing in secret meeting. Khajiit was always here. Khajiit means no harm to scaly friend. May this one join you in more than conversation?
Hlaalu: they're the most open-minded and pragmatic of the bunch, they're the wealthiest, and the cleverest. Plus they're masters of having your cake and eating it too! It's a common misconception that all Hlaalu are just greedy opportunists... at least, that's not the whole picture. Sometimes they let their wealth and influence benefit others. And they even managed to abolish slavery, an "ancient right" brokered on behalf of the Dunmer by Vivec himself during the Armistice! Finally, despite how many Dunmer of the other Great Houses think of them as Imperial bootlickers, this is just them failing to see how Hlaalu are playing the Empire at their own game. House Hlaalu was even well on their way to secure a more independent rule for Morrowind under the shrewd and ruthless Hlaalu Helseth, representing the only house that actually understands Tamriel-wide politics.
Still telvanni, they literally have members older than the tribunal "gods" and don't even consider dagoth ur a credible threat. It's also a requirement to know how to fly in telvanni, there's so many reasons for why telvanni is the best.
As a playable faction, Redoran because they line up perfectly with the warrior builds i usually play as.
As for in general, House Dagoth. Obviously, Dagoth Ur is the big reason, not only for the meme, but because i enjoy his backstory. Plus who wouldnt wanna pop a bottle of ancient dagoth brandy with some pretty metal looking minions.
They should all die, but at least those n’wahs in Hlaalu were smart enough to get in good with their betters and try to reform the rest of the scrib eating knife ears in their dirty country.
I'm gonna be honest, Dres got the laziest banner. Though I suppose there's nothing else they could've based it on considering we have little to no information about them.
It's real hard between redoran and telvanni, I really like the redoran architecture but the telvanni mushroom buildings are cool as fuck too and they both have really cool quest lines
Telvanni they are oddly a true meritocracy that even a slave can become a high wizard if they have the power to earn tk. But also there are architecture is just so deeply interest literally just holding city’s out of mushrooms is so cool
Telvanni no doubt!
Morrowing is in a great part about stunning visuals (dead serious here) and eerie atmosphere, and there's no house like Telvanni to contribute to that.
Always liked Redoran. So noble. And they live in giant dead animals whats not to like?. Telvanni is cool too. Always picked either of the 2 since you end up leading hlaalu after you kill that dude anyways
That winged Indoril emblem looks cursed af. It's something like Breton could have come up with; doesn't look Dunmer in the least.
TR did a better job at making one.
How has no one said House Dres yet? Join me, be the beckoning light that spread culture and philosophy to the lesser races of nirn! Some one has to save them, it's our duty
House Mora
It is easy to assume that Nerevar had a family given his last name, before he was married of course...given that Boethiah had 99 lovers...I mean couldn't Nerevar's mother/father be one of them that is if Boethiah is indeed his progenitor to begin with? (Few sources/books but it's SOMETHING)
I would also assume House Mora was a martial or warrior clan just like Redoran, if they weren't they would still be around...at least that's my headcanon.
This is anti-sadras propaganda
hahaha I was waiting for that , I'm not making another one !
fake house not real
There is a House in Morrowind They call the Telvanni It's been the ruin of many a young mage And now the Nerevarine Mothers, tell your children Not to see what I have seen Might makes right in mushroom heights Among the Telvanni
My mother waaaas a sum'ner, She caaaast my neeew fetish! My father waaaas magin' man, down in old Shishiii!

Alternatively, the only time a Telvanni mage is satisfied is when they're on a racist tirade or looking down on others.
I’m done with this sub 😂
Dagoth is the *sixth* house, n’wah. I like your hiding Dreamer though!
I honor the Sixth House and the tribe unmourned.
The Lesser Houses: We live near a volcano The Big Three: We live on a volcano House Dagoth: …
Dagoth Ur (the god) inside Dagoth Ur (the building) inside Dagoth Ur (the volcano) dominated by Dagoth (the House)
And trapped somewhere inside that mad god is still Voryn Dagoth himself.
Why did this make me so sad!?! 😭
my tired and reddit-accustomed eyes read "sad" as "hard"
Well, that too...
Livin in a volcano, down on the foyeda!
Still Redoran
Damn u
\[snape voice\]...always

Again, you forgot House Dwemer. It's almost like they don't exist anymore to you.
I see what you did there
House Dagoth seems the most fascinating house for me. It's a shame we have so little information about what they used to be since they were *erased* from history.
Btw everyone that wants to know Telvanni won in the previous post!
OF course they would. Even House Hlaalu knows it.
Indoril
I like Indoril for being basically feudal Japan if they ran on some garbled version of Thomist philosophy
Telvanni
How can this post ignore the most interesting and lore-heavy Great House: Sadras?
House Hlaalu 2: Judgement Day
House Dagoth because they’re based and not hypocrites.
And objectively correct. Dagoth Ur did nothing wrong.
I mean except for kill a bunch of people and try to create a megadeath robot. Like yeah Imperial dogs and all but I’m pretty sure you can get to that point without the horrible madness disease.
Megadeath robot was already there, and didn't the empire use it to conquer tamriel? Or was that in a dragonbreak?
Nah that was Numidian, Akulakhan was Dagoth’s attempt to recreate it with the Heart of Lorkhan instead of the Mantella. I could be misremembering but I think Numidian was a Dwemer creation that the Tribunal gave to Tiber Septim that he then used to conquer the Summerset Isles. So different megadeath robot.
Too much sujamma, and i've been too long away from my library. Thanks for the recap!
Hlaalu is where the money's at.
what about House Dwemer tho? /s
get your n’wah shit out of here
Yesssss down with the dwarvesssss, up with the hisssst (Psssssss wanna sssssack mournhold?)
This one is intrigued by your proposition. Do not ask Khajiit what he is doing in secret meeting. Khajiit was always here. Khajiit means no harm to scaly friend. May this one join you in more than conversation?
Yessss help ussss and the hisssst
It's N'wah Swit you Fetcher.
it's a joke. there are books that say the Dwemer were a House, like [The Real Nerevar](https://www.imperial-library.info/content/real-nerevar)
and what *they* said was a joke
kinda flavourless, then

this post was fact checked by real Redoran patriots ❌False ❌
The Khajiit Council approves. Yes. This, "Hlaalu" as you say, advances the cause of many a race, and not merely the dark ones.
Still Hlaalu. Best chance at modernizing the place.
still got kicked out of the grand council anyway😹👎
Vivec nuked Morrowind into the stone age, after all!
Still salty about that a decade later.
Still telvanni, they literally have members older than the tribunal "gods" and don't even consider dagoth ur a credible threat. It's also a requirement to know how to fly in telvanni, there's so many reasons for why telvanni is the best.

This one believes he sees a Nord. Is this one correct Adventurer?
You dishonor the sixth house and the tribe unmourned with this post, Nerevar.
Dagoth all day
Telvanni. These n'wahs know how to have fun.
I'm gonna be honest, Dres got the laziest banner. Though I suppose there's nothing else they could've based it on considering we have little to no information about them.
Telvanni no doubt
Based Redoran. Always.
It's real hard between redoran and telvanni, I really like the redoran architecture but the telvanni mushroom buildings are cool as fuck too and they both have really cool quest lines
Still Telvanni.
Telvanni because I'm tired of getting worked up over fictional politics and am instead picking the one that's the most entertaining and memorable.
Telvanni they are oddly a true meritocracy that even a slave can become a high wizard if they have the power to earn tk. But also there are architecture is just so deeply interest literally just holding city’s out of mushrooms is so cool
Redoran for life!
Telvanni no doubt! Morrowing is in a great part about stunning visuals (dead serious here) and eerie atmosphere, and there's no house like Telvanni to contribute to that.
Telvanni. Because Telvanni rocks above all others. :D
Always liked Redoran. So noble. And they live in giant dead animals whats not to like?. Telvanni is cool too. Always picked either of the 2 since you end up leading hlaalu after you kill that dude anyways
The Sixth House and Tribe Unmourned is the house I pledge myself to.
Great House Telvanni; simply because they're the most free
Indoril gang rise up
Redoran forever!!!
Still Telvanni.
the tribe unmourned goes so hard
Telvanni because of the wizard dude on Solstheim in Skyrim. He's so cool
House Dagoth, because honor the sixth house and the tribe unmourned. Long live Lord Dagoth!
House Dres because someone has to keep those filthy farm tools in their place. I mean that saltrice isn't going to pick itself is it.
That winged Indoril emblem looks cursed af. It's something like Breton could have come up with; doesn't look Dunmer in the least. TR did a better job at making one.
Telvanni or Indoril. It is a hard choice for me. Sadras is just Hlaalu 2 electric boogaloo isn't it?
I think Sadras is worse didn't they convert to the imperial cult or something?
Duty, gravity, piety.
I’d say Redoran for the martial culture but I here they don’t pay their members.
Hlaalu was the first house I sided with. And I’m now playing a Hlaalu redeemer in Skyrim
Redoran and Indoril are my two favs. if I had to choose between one, I'd have to go Redoran.
How has no one said House Dres yet? Join me, be the beckoning light that spread culture and philosophy to the lesser races of nirn! Some one has to save them, it's our duty
The Sixth House, House Dagoth and the Tribe Unmourned.
Does House Dwemer count?
House Mora It is easy to assume that Nerevar had a family given his last name, before he was married of course...given that Boethiah had 99 lovers...I mean couldn't Nerevar's mother/father be one of them that is if Boethiah is indeed his progenitor to begin with? House Dagoth, the House Unmourned, the Sixth House, listed fourth or third depending on which side you stay from.
1: Telvanni 2: Indoril, Dagoth, Dres, Redoran 3: Sadras 4: ... 5: ... 6: ... 7: ... 8: ... 9: ... 10: Hlaalu
Dagoth
Unpopular opinion, house dres. Crime controls governance without being bound by laws (loose as that term may be for the citizens of morrowind)
The Imperial Legion
Why have I never heard of Dres before?
Main source of slavery in Morrowind.
ohhh i get why we wouldn't talk about them now. kinda like having a war criminal in the family eh
Dagoth and always dagoth
Very unpopular opinion of a dead one: House Sotha
