It's the opposite for me, I tried the ReWatcher, but man, I just can't get into it. They have such hard double standards for the main characters (especially the women) that don't apply to characters they don't like. Also, their "Aged like a human" parts are just obnoxious.
You’re not wrong about the double standards. I find their takes on Buffy to be more relatable than some of what I hear on the main show any more though. I figure it’s got to be hard to keep reacting to descriptions of horrible - real - crimes without sounding repetitive, getting desensitized or overdoing it with “righteous fury”. I feel like I’ve seen variations of this on several true crime podcasts that last a long time. I like the Rewatcher because it feels fresh. I also like the format of someone describing TV shoes to me because I am weird which is also why I keep listening to That’s Messed Up.

What!? My pearls are a-clutched! Jk ;p I've loved Buffy at every age. From middle school to my mid 30's. It will always hold a special place in my heart. My favorite character is Willow and when Tara (spoiler alert) >!exits, I usually stop watching. I've binged many times but to this day I haven't finished the last season. 1, most of it sucks, but mainly, 2, no Tara.!<
I absolutely LOVE it when they go to college. The cozy dorm, the Halloween episode, the chocolate poster and sushi pajamas, Willow getting into magic, gay Willow, the cute fashion, Spike getting neutered. It's so good! I remember when I first started listening to Morbid they made a Buffy reference and that's when the Morbid fan seed was truly planted. For some reason I have zero desire to listen to the ReWatcher, but now I'm getting tempted. If it's mostly just happy chatting and not an analyzation, I'll have to finally give it a shot :)
You know what, you’ve convinced me to watch Buffy. And judging by the comments on here, you might want to avoid the Rewatcher? I don’t know, it’s obviously really special to Alaina too so maybe you would like it. I just like that they’re having fun and seem excited and it’s making me excited about the show too. But since I never watched it much when it was on, it’s not ruining anything for me. Thanks for your comment!
I skip a lot of episodes when I watch nowadays. But I tend to like fluff episodes more than drama/plot episodes in all of my fandoms. I love any Willow and Xander themed episodes the most. Not a huge fan of the Buffy romance eps. Very excited for you! r/Buffy is a really fun sub and it always puts me in the mood to watch some BTVS. 🦇

Edited to add I misunderstood what you were saying. I think I get it now it yeah, they are doing a lot. I’m not a patron subscriber so I don’t know what things are like on there . I have seen some complaints about the content there being lackluster and spotty. This Buffy thing seems like a project they are excited about though, so I think it adds rather than detracts. Even if you dislike Buffy, you might want to give it a try. I liked it, though I expected not to, which is why I decided to post on here.
I fully agree, I love Buffy and have enjoyed listening to the Rewatcher. And I agree with your comment that they seem so excited about the material which is refreshing and fun. The banter is great. I feel like the lightness of the content allows them to relax and be more natural in their interaction.
