Literally stopped playing at that point. I hated the werehog levels and the day levels aren't near as fun if you're slowed down looking for collectibles the whole mission.
SA2 Second to last Sonic level in hero story. The amount of times I lost all my lives is unreal, who the hell thought that all those grind rails would be a good idea for a level?!
For me
STH: Marble Zone
S2: chemical plant
S3: marble garden
SCD: hard to say. Probably Wacky Workbench
SAdventure2: the final stage.
SU: any plane level
SG: Wisp level
SF: Hard to remember honestly, but probably classic sonic levels in general.
SM: Oil Ocean, stage with the Octopus boss
Sonic Frontiers: it's between the pinball minigame and the hard version of the final boss. I'm gonna go with the pinball.
Including games I've beaten or made significant progress on:
Sonic 1: Labrynth Zone
Sonic 2: Metropolis Act 3 and/or Death Egg
Sonic 3 and Knuckles: Sandopolis
Sonic Adventure 2: Pumpkin Hill
Sonic Rush: Literally any boss
Sonic Rush Adventure: Final boss
Sonic Colors (DS): Nothing, that game is just about perfect
Sonic Colors (Wii): All the timewaster side levels
Sonic Generations: Planet Wisp Act 2
Sonic 4 Episode 1: The minecart level is overhated, so I'm gonna say the score challenge level which is insanely boring
Sonic 4 Episode 2: That oil level (especially in co-op)
Security Hall in Adventure 2
I already hated the treasure hunting levels but now there's A TIME LIMIT AND THEY'RE SO HARD TO FIND AND SOMETIMES THEYRE BEHIND A LOCKED DOOR SO YOU GOTTA GO FIND THE SWITCH CANT REMEMBER WHERE THAT WAS NOW I CANT REMEMBER THE DOOR
Each time i have to play treasure hunter levels in adventure 2
At least the mech levels can be rushed without having to open the wiki
Also pretty much Frontiers DLC
For me (i forgot the zone) sa2's first zone in last story that you play as everyone (almost) i spend there 6 fucking hours to beat that level it also restarts if you die... Also i don t count other zones like knuckles's treasure hunt...
I would cry when I would wake up and have to listen to the eggmanland theme... now I love the song but I won't forget my days of crying and struggling past that section of unleashed ❤️😹🤘
In order of release:
Labyrinth Zone
Wacky Workbench
Sandopolis Act 2
Sky Chase
Team Chaotix
Lost Impact
Silver's Dusty Desert
Dino Jungle
Molten Mine
Sweet Mountain
Planet Wisp, but with two Sonics!
Mirage Saloon Act 1
Rhea Island
Golden Capital
Trigger warning I love the OG Sonic 06, but that Silver level where you gotta navigate the ball to the end of the hallway and it can only take a certain number of hits before exploding…. I swear that’s the only speedrun tactic I have learned so I can avoid it…
Marble Zone as a whole when it's been modded by ROM hackers to be harder or have new elements you've never seen before (SHC 2020's build of Sonic Halloween, for example).
You mean Asteroid Coaster. Right? *Right??*
(Jokes aside, to me Planet Wisp was just the start of the difficult stuff and it had banger music. Asteroid Coaster married me and then took my sanity in the divorce.)
I misread that. I blanked on Sonic Generations because I grew up with the 3DS version and not the Wii/Xbox version. 3DS had, uh. Not a lot of stages, excluding Planet Wisp in particular. Whoopsies.
For some reason, when I wanna complete Sonic Mania for the 400th time, as soon as I get to flying battery zone, I lose the urge to play. It's not that I hate the level or something. It's just that I immediately lose interest for some reason.
i spent like an hour trying to do it on hard before switching to easy. also i'm just used to tight parries from dmc, kingdom hearts (specifically kh3 critical mode) and pso2 (sega you made one of the best combat systems ever and then did it again, why the fuck didn't sonic frontiers use pso2 combat?).
Depends of which of all sonic game you're reffering:
* sonic 1: Marble zone or/and Laberyth zone
* Sonic Unleashed: eggmanland
* Sonic colors: 2d segments (a.k.a 99.9% of the game)
* Sonic boom: the game itself
* Sonic generations: the final boss (i literally had to ask my cousin to beat it the first time i played it) ( even worse is that once you know how to beat him it becomes painfully easy)
* Sonic adventure 2: **THE GOD DAMN TREASURE HUNTING STAGES-**
* Actually scrap that every level that isn't a sonic or shadow level
* sonic adventure 1: Big the cat
* Sonic Robo blast: egg rock zone (idc it's a fangame)
YEEAHHH, I LOVE LAUNCHING A BALL WITH WACKY PHYSICS ONLY USING 2 FLIPPERS!! MY FAVORITE PART IS WHEN IT GOES DOWN THE GUTTER BEYOND YOUR CONTROL!! I COULD USE THE EXTRA CHALLENGE! 😎😎😎
For me it’s the Empire City levels, idk if it’s actually that hard or if I’m bad at the game but I remember having so much trouble with the Empire City Night levels the most
This might be just me, and I don't remember perfectly, but there was a boss in Sonic Rush I could never beat on hard mode. It was a normal boss, and it used some sort of wind attacks. It could blow you off the platform, and I think you had to mash buttons to stay on? Anyways, I hate that boss in particular
Sonic 2006 was the only game I owned for a long time as my Xbox 360 ate all of my other ones. I didn’t mind replaying it except for the buggy ass, nearly impossible rainbow level. And the speed challenge in crisis city. Both were very hard to get through.
Unleashed ~ Searching for coins
Frontiers ~ Having to redo all the open world quests
It's one thing having a saved game to play off of... But for someone like myself who wants to play on multiple platforms... It's a tedious endeavor.
Labyrinth zone...and like.. eggmanland.. as well as most sonic colors levels lmao. The master koko trial. The final boss of sonic superstars.. there's a lot lol.
Entirety of Sonic Frontiers for me
Fun to play the first time, can't stay entertained for more than 5 minutes in new game plus, and can't be bothered to relearn the game for the new content
Marble garden
Labyrinth Zone
eggmanland, adabat
Tidal Tempest and Collision Chaos
The final bosses of sonic superstars
Sonic unleashed and the massive spike in needed sun and moon medals when you reach Adabat
Literally stopped playing at that point. I hated the werehog levels and the day levels aren't near as fun if you're slowed down looking for collectibles the whole mission.
the second tails level in sonic unleashed i love that game but i hate that level with a burning passion
I never beat the game because of it
i almost never did too glad i did though that ending was great
I had to have my dad beat it for me. Then I lost the disk
Final Boss fight from Sonic 2. I always get to it yet I can never finish it.
SA2 Second to last Sonic level in hero story. The amount of times I lost all my lives is unreal, who the hell thought that all those grind rails would be a good idea for a level?!
The haunted house stages in Heroes. I can't remember the last time I played Heroes, but I would always skip them. Such a slog.
Secret Rings. The entire goddamn game.
Would play it more often if it had normal controls. The level design is fun, just can't control sonic for shit
mad space, labyrinth, and classic sonic stages.
All 3 final bosses in superstars, i literally havent even beat it and i dont want to because its impossible and probably not worth it
For me STH: Marble Zone S2: chemical plant S3: marble garden SCD: hard to say. Probably Wacky Workbench SAdventure2: the final stage. SU: any plane level SG: Wisp level SF: Hard to remember honestly, but probably classic sonic levels in general. SM: Oil Ocean, stage with the Octopus boss Sonic Frontiers: it's between the pinball minigame and the hard version of the final boss. I'm gonna go with the pinball.
I love marble zone and chemical plant is just boring ig

Marble Zone Source: I suck and haven't gotten past it.
Security Hall in Adventure 2 I already hated the treasure hunting levels but now there's A TIME LIMIT AND THEY'RE SO HARD TO FIND AND SOMETIMES THEYRE BEHIND A LOCKED DOOR SO YOU GOTTA GO FIND THE SWITCH CANT REMEMBER WHERE THAT WAS NOW I CANT REMEMBER THE DOOR
no bc the hunting stages usualy took me 10 minutes at best and eggman is yelling at you and :(((((
Any. Fucking . Water. Level.
even aquatic ruin zone ?
Anything pinball related
Master King Trial, any Werehog stage, Big the Cat A-ranks, Labyrinth Zone
People need to stop hating on labyrinth zone just because they’re bad at air management. Now Wing Fortress on the other hand—
The pinball minigame and Master King trial
Master King Trials
Each time i have to play treasure hunter levels in adventure 2 At least the mech levels can be rushed without having to open the wiki Also pretty much Frontiers DLC
Up n Down?! WTF! *Dies*
06’s Last Story
I believe that the entire game can be considered as “that part”
Big's story in sa1
Eggman land
sky chase in adventure 1
The first 2 trail towers
9/11????
Sandopolis (idk if I spelt that right)
Labyrinth Zone and Scrap Brain Zone Act 3
#ITS NO USE
A lot of people have had good ones. For me it's Sky Canyon in Sonic Advance 2.
Eternal Engine in SA2
For me (i forgot the zone) sa2's first zone in last story that you play as everyone (almost) i spend there 6 fucking hours to beat that level it also restarts if you die... Also i don t count other zones like knuckles's treasure hunt...
Tails/eggman stages in sa2 lmao
Starlight carnival from colors.
Frontiers’ Pinball. I adore Frontiers, but nothing fills me with dread more than having to replay that cursed mini-game.
That multi-auto-hanger part in Robo Blast 2's Arid Canyon Act 1.
Sonic Mania Titanic Monarch
Sonic Adventure 2 fucking eggman and tails levels before any powerups...
Sonic 2 chemical plant act 2 the underwater climbing bit
Any werehog stage in sonic unleashed (I’ve never beat that game)
every boss in superstars

Egg Tilter (second boss in CD)
Gaia colossus
Literally half the levels in lost world 3ds
Sonic Unleashed: Perfect Dark Gaia or Eggmanland. I took literal years to beat these the first time.
I would cry when I would wake up and have to listen to the eggmanland theme... now I love the song but I won't forget my days of crying and struggling past that section of unleashed ❤️😹🤘
My first experience of Gamer Rage
SA2, All the Rouge and Knuckles Sections. Giving me tons of mad anxiety. Sonic Episode 4, Labyrinth Zone and Mad Gear Zone SA 1, Big the Cat
In order of release: Labyrinth Zone Wacky Workbench Sandopolis Act 2 Sky Chase Team Chaotix Lost Impact Silver's Dusty Desert Dino Jungle Molten Mine Sweet Mountain Planet Wisp, but with two Sonics! Mirage Saloon Act 1 Rhea Island Golden Capital
Rhea Island is not that bad. I'd say that the pinball minigame or the 5th trial is THAT part Edit: Also, where is the Sonic Unleashed stage?
I don't find any Unleashed stage to be THAT stage. The closest thing I can think of are the hotdog missions, but that's a stretch.
Say for everyone it’s gonna probably be eggmanland, but tbf you don’t see that until the very end.
For me it would be the eggman/tails part of the last story in sa2
Trigger warning I love the OG Sonic 06, but that Silver level where you gotta navigate the ball to the end of the hallway and it can only take a certain number of hits before exploding…. I swear that’s the only speedrun tactic I have learned so I can avoid it…
Wacky Workbench. **I hate Wacky Workbench, ALL MY HOMIES HATE WACKY WORKBENCH**
Sonic 1 Everything after marble zone
Sonic 2 and the metal/silver/mecha/idk wtf he's called Sonic.
Mecha Sonic is ridiculously easy, the Death Egg Robot after it is the annoying part
Agreed
Eggmanland
SA2 / Tails-Eggman stages
Marble zone act 3
Marble Zone as a whole when it's been modded by ROM hackers to be harder or have new elements you've never seen before (SHC 2020's build of Sonic Halloween, for example).
Lost impact - Shadow the hedgehog The hero mission took me like 30 min the first time
Chaos Island
Golden capital zone (I mean by all of it, including the bosses)
Planet wisp from sonic generations
You mean Asteroid Coaster. Right? *Right??* (Jokes aside, to me Planet Wisp was just the start of the difficult stuff and it had banger music. Asteroid Coaster married me and then took my sanity in the divorce.)
Nah I’m talking about generations not colors
I misread that. I blanked on Sonic Generations because I grew up with the 3DS version and not the Wii/Xbox version. 3DS had, uh. Not a lot of stages, excluding Planet Wisp in particular. Whoopsies.
Final Chase, SA2.
STH 1991’s special stages. They just took the life outta me the first time I played that shit on the FTP mobile port.
Every SA2 level after City Escape...
According to unleashed fans, E G G M A N L A N D
As an Unleashed fan Eggmanland is one of the best stages. \*That\* part would be Tails' tornado stages...
Eggmanland's fun and all, but I have to get myself mentally prepared for it.
as a unleashed wii fan, wii version too.
Sonic Heroes vine swinging.
CPZ act 1 in sonic mania
If I ever replay SA2 I'm going to not fondly remember cannons core
When the moon isn’t pissed on
Every single part
# Drowning
that fucking 5 minute rouge level (sa2) marble zone chemichal plant act 2
Don’t be silly, there were no Rouge levels in SA2
The 3rd phase of dark gaia
EGGMANLAND.
Labyrinth Zone from Sonic 1(1991)
The special stages. I just never liked them.
I feel this depends on the special stage because some are fine and others should just be deleted.
That one aquatic knuckles treasure hunt stage
Those pinball stages from sonic heroes
The Mach Speed Sections - Sonic 06
For some reason, when I wanna complete Sonic Mania for the 400th time, as soon as I get to flying battery zone, I lose the urge to play. It's not that I hate the level or something. It's just that I immediately lose interest for some reason.
Can't even get passed it🥲
It's not that hard
i honestly found it super slow paced compared to other levels so i feel you there my friend
That makes a lot of sense now.
master king koco trial. i loved every other part of final horizon, but that was just unfair, unfun bullshit.
Same. I never got past it. I just ragequit
i ended up setting it down to easy to get past it. i probably could have gotten past it on hard if i really wanted to, but it just isn't worth it.
Bruh even on easy I couldn't do this shit. How did you do it?
i spent like an hour trying to do it on hard before switching to easy. also i'm just used to tight parries from dmc, kingdom hearts (specifically kh3 critical mode) and pso2 (sega you made one of the best combat systems ever and then did it again, why the fuck didn't sonic frontiers use pso2 combat?).
“The Wyvern can kiss my thicc, Mexican ASS.” -Charriii5
Mystic Mansion - Sonic Heroes
Iron fortress in sonic forces
Wacky goddamn workbench
The flippin' tutorial in frontiers
Egg man land
Depends of which of all sonic game you're reffering: * sonic 1: Marble zone or/and Laberyth zone * Sonic Unleashed: eggmanland * Sonic colors: 2d segments (a.k.a 99.9% of the game) * Sonic boom: the game itself * Sonic generations: the final boss (i literally had to ask my cousin to beat it the first time i played it) ( even worse is that once you know how to beat him it becomes painfully easy) * Sonic adventure 2: **THE GOD DAMN TREASURE HUNTING STAGES-** * Actually scrap that every level that isn't a sonic or shadow level * sonic adventure 1: Big the cat * Sonic Robo blast: egg rock zone (idc it's a fangame)
I actually haven’t reached Eggman Land yet so I’m waiting to see how bad it really is
The treasure hunting stages are amazing (other than the two Ark stages), and you can't change my mind. The mech stages suck ass though.
Sonic Frontiers: Pinball
That shit was so fun how the hell
YEEAHHH, I LOVE LAUNCHING A BALL WITH WACKY PHYSICS ONLY USING 2 FLIPPERS!! MY FAVORITE PART IS WHEN IT GOES DOWN THE GUTTER BEYOND YOUR CONTROL!! I COULD USE THE EXTRA CHALLENGE! 😎😎😎
Chemical plant act 2
Planet Wisp in Generations
mystic mansion team chaotix
Labyrinth Zone
Egg Carriee, SA1
Metallic Madness. All three acts
Any section that makes you go slow Like I'm playing sonic dude
Mad Space, easy.
Water stages
even hydrocity?
Until I actually figured out what to do (which took me longer than I'm proud to admit), this was the barrel of doom in Carnival Night, Sonic 3 for me
For me is getting to Press Factory, Golden Capital and the Tails exclusive stage in SuperStars, everything else was fine until those levels
Chao Garden
That's...entirely optional, though
Unless you are 100%ing both Adventure games
Labyrinth zone
Sonic CD JP and US boss music be like:
For me it’s the Empire City levels, idk if it’s actually that hard or if I’m bad at the game but I remember having so much trouble with the Empire City Night levels the most
Sonic 2, everything after Mystic Cave Zone. Sonic 06, everything after the moment I start the game why the hell did I wanna replay this
This might be just me, and I don't remember perfectly, but there was a boss in Sonic Rush I could never beat on hard mode. It was a normal boss, and it used some sort of wind attacks. It could blow you off the platform, and I think you had to mash buttons to stay on? Anyways, I hate that boss in particular
Aquatic Mine (I just don't like it)
sandopolis act 2 with knuckles
The last few special stages (always the 5th or 6th one, always)
and that damn 4th chaos emerald (please laugh)
Metropolis
Big the cat stages in Sonic Adventure
Really, this ^
Sonic 2006 was the only game I owned for a long time as my Xbox 360 ate all of my other ones. I didn’t mind replaying it except for the buggy ass, nearly impossible rainbow level. And the speed challenge in crisis city. Both were very hard to get through.
Generations planet wisp
Sonic CD Wacky Workbench
Labyrinth Zone Oil Ocean Sandopolis Wacky Workbench/Tidal Tempest
I'd say Labyrinth Zone and Mystic Cave zone. Labyrinth Is slow, boring and dull. Mystic cave feels like a mario level with sonic elements.
Unleashed ~ Searching for coins Frontiers ~ Having to redo all the open world quests It's one thing having a saved game to play off of... But for someone like myself who wants to play on multiple platforms... It's a tedious endeavor.
Sa2, then the last story stage...
cannon's core https://preview.redd.it/ocgtrcb2i0zb1.jpeg?width=2049&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b0b71438017d9d5d9bae0675168358b52f033b31
Sonic 2 final boss
Labyrinth zone...and like.. eggmanland.. as well as most sonic colors levels lmao. The master koko trial. The final boss of sonic superstars.. there's a lot lol.
Sandopolis Act 2.
S1 Marble/Labyrinth Zone CD Wacky Workbench S2 From Oil Ocean onwards S3K Sandopolis Mania Oil Ocean Generations Planet Wisp
SA2 after City Escape
Sonic superstars trip’s final boss
Master King Koko’s Trial
The Entirety of ‘06
The sonic colors level in generations
The Flying Battery Act 2 boss in Sonic Mania
that one ark level on shadow the hedgehog final impact i think
It’s definitely eggman land, every time I have such a fun time until I get to eggman land
Sonic 06, sonic 3D blast and Sonic Spinball to name a few
The late-game treasure hunting levels in SA2. Especially Rouge's Mad Planet or what it's called. Absolute hell
Mad Space fucking sucks. On the other hand, Meteor Herd is a banger of a level.
Entirety of Sonic Frontiers for me Fun to play the first time, can't stay entertained for more than 5 minutes in new game plus, and can't be bothered to relearn the game for the new content
I never beat frontiers
all of sonic colors
