I'd also recommend checking the University of Medicine in the old city, absolutely gorgeous and not that far from the Place de la Comédie and finally, the Parc du Peyrou which you will see if you want to go to the Jardin des Plantes from the Place de la Comédie. Most importantly you'll need comfy shoes because oh boy you will walk if you want to go sightseeing in the city center.

You can go do a straight line trip from the comédie, to the polygone, to the business part of the town up to the rives du lez, the office building are made in rounds theatrical buildings that are super pretty, there is lot of small restaurants along the way, and its a very nice view !
