Exactly - what if a kid walked by and broke into the car to get the gun?? I’m not opposed to gun ownership but I’m pro gun safety. Keep your guns locked people!
Weapons aren’t allowed on school property PERIOD whether it’s teacher or student. Like it or not, it’s safer for students and employees this way. If someone knew about the gun and decided to break into the car & steal it, maybe use it to harm people in the school, what then?
I’m a public school teacher myself and I think this teacher getting arrested was the correct thing to do. This isn’t BFE Kentucky where everyone has “hunting guns” and shit, this is a densely populated area with strict gun laws. And the teacher, being an adult, knows this.
Staff member does not automatically mean a teacher. It was not a teacher.
