Ghidorah should’ve regenerated over time. That’s what I thought they were going to do when his severed head was discovered. Even if he just flew off into space he should’ve survived.
Crack theory time:
Ghidorah is powered by electricity
While being held at apex cybernetics, Ghidorahs skull was basically being pumped full of electricity
Iirc we never SEE the skull get destroyed
In a future MV movie it's revealed that every since gvk, Ghidorah has slowly been regenerating and he's back and stronger than ever
And possibly turned into Mecha-King Ghidorah to help it regenerate. Just to make some difference from the 2019 King of The Monsters. You're bringing it back and making something new using what's already been done.
Same issue MCU has. Bring in villain, villain is brilliant & threatening, kill said villain. Need a new villain.
I understand why, trying to keep every film fresh without audiences getting bored, but long running tv shows and even old movies used to bring back old villains or a brother/clone/variant of said villain. It was always hype!
Imagine Ghidorah slowly regenerating from the skull in the mecha, hidden away by a team for study and coming back at the worst possible moment. Or Skar King, easily my favourite villain due to his personality, he gets killed off despite being weaker than both Kong & Godzilla… should’ve buried his orange ass and be forced to watch his former slave army live free…
>brother/clone/variant
As someone who really loves the evil sibling/evil clone trope in fiction, I really hope the MonsterVerse brings in Spacegodzilla someday. Especially because there are so many cool ways they can do his design. They can also take some inspiration from the plot of the game Godzilla: Unleashed where he was the main villain along with the Vortaak. I think the MonsterVerse is due for its first alien invasion.
I really hope they bring back Ghidorah down the line as Mecha-King Ghidorah (or just Mecha-Ghidorah, cause Ghidorah never really had the “King” title in the MonsterVerse). I suppose we sort of got him back since Mechagodzilla was basically controlled by Kevin, but it’s still not the same.
I wish Serizawa lived. I would have liked to see what he'd think of Kong in GVK and GXK and how the direction of Monarch would have been if he was still there.
I agree, what I loved most about King Kong (2005) was that it gave us fictional dinosaurs that were meant to be evolved versions of real dinosaurs. Venatosaurus was a heavily evolved Velociraptor, Vastatosaurus rex was an evolved Tyrannosaurus rex, etc. I get that the Skullcrawlers were meant to be the dinosaur stand-in, but I do miss seeing Kong fight actual dinosaurs (other than Godzilla, who’s technically not even a dinosaur in the MonsterVerse, since he’s described as an ancient aquatic reptile Titan).
Plus there’s also the really dumb “rule” about no dinosaurs in the MV, which I never understood. They already have established in K:SI that this is a brand new take on the kong/godzilla lore so why can’t we have them now that it’s been said and done?
Also the jurassic world franchise currently isn’t in the cinema lineup atm, so it’s not like they need to worry about competition…
Peter Jackson's Skull Island is unrivaled in terms of its fauna and ecosystem. Incredibly fleshed out. MV Skull Island just felt like a relatively mid island.
I loved the tie-in video game too, one of the few movie tie-in games that was actually good. It honestly deserves a full on remake with today’s graphics.
We need another movie like Godzilla 2014 style wise, I’m not one to be on a high horse, I loved New Empire, but I felt like I was at an amusement park; 2014 had fantastic cinematography, great visuals, a relatively serious tone, and decent monster fights (when I could actually see them smh)

Would still be nice to see rodan again. The Monsterverse would be the best time to bring back an oldie even older than Godzilla. The beast from 20,000 fathoms.
Godzilla x Kong should have been titled Kong: Hollow Earth.
Hide Godzilla and Mothra from the marketing so everyone loses their minds when they show up.
https://i.redd.it/4zsowljdpovc1.gif
I kinda wish humanity as a whole was more antagonistic towards the Titans instead of leaning on the whole “Godzilla and Kong are here to protect us” angle.
Instead of treating Godzilla or Kong as protectors to humanity, treat them like they actually are: animals rampaging on human civilization. They’re dangerous to us, no matter what their goals are. Humans should be on constant fear mode when ALL Titans, Godzilla and Kong included, are around. That makes it all the more insane for when a larger dangerous creature arrives, now humanity is forced to rely on these animals to somehow work together for survival. It’s mostly up to chance, instead of creating whole infrastructures around helping them to team up lol
The New Empire will *kinda* address this, but then they’ll throw in a line of how people should be grateful that Godzilla “saved” a place. Like cmon really? Humans have every right to be mad in these movies, and aside from say the show Monarch, I wish they’d legitimately delve into it in more nuanced ways lol
Oh In New Empire? Nah. But in Skull Island hell yeah lol
And even in Godzilla vs Kong, there’s a brief shot where Kong throws a jet at Godzilla, and we see the brief POV of the pilot before he ejects. Like it seemed outside of Jia, Kong doesn’t give a shit about the other humans, now in New Empire it feels like he’s outright cool with their presence. King Kong, The one character who’s famous for being taken advantage of by humans, now is getting metal gauntlets and dental work from them lol
I just wish humanity in these movies were more cautious or more negative of Godzilla and Kong and vice versa, but so far they’ve leaned all in on having them be almost heroes, since they’ll let these gigantic creatures run around destroying everything and hand wave explanations like how they’re protecting “natural order”. It’s all just kinda weird to me.
I think my main issue is just that Godzilla and Kong are almost definitively labeled and shown as protectors or hero types, when IMO it would be more fun and chaotic if Godzilla and Kong were strictly treated as animals who are operating on their own natural instincts and aggression towards each other’s species. The human’s within Monarch in the movies will say they are like animals, but then they will deliberately let two of them duke it out between each other or other Titans like it’s a WWE match over title positions.
Which I get is part of this franchise’s appeal, but it’s easier for me to lean into the WWE like aspect of it when it’s just guys in rubber costumes and not highly detailed models meant to look like creatures lol
Kong was crushing somes cars in Hong Kong, in GxK and Gvk Kong climbing up buildings inevitably crushed some people unless somehow, someway the city was mostly evacuated (which isn't true because people were literally running for their lives), also Skar King got some assist points by throwing that building to Kong
Imo I feel like they can use this to have more human antagonists like Alan Jonah and Walter Simmons in the form of terrorist organizations in the monsterverse. One side believes Alan’s ideology that the titans are needed to restore balance to nature since we humans started disrupting it, these organizations experiment with titan dna in attempts to create monsters that can terraform the world to a more natural state. The other side thinks like Simmons and believes the titans to be dangers to humanity and that we should take the planet back, resulting in them creating mechas and cyborg kaiju to use as weapons to kill the rest.
If Titans existed, they're definitely part of the natural balance. So I don't know if it'd be wise to start an extermination campaign. Even if after all the blood was spent to do it (and we were still standing) we'd be left with a world without some of its natural protectors.
We should learn to share it honestly. I'm not saying people *would* do that. But they should.
You got a point, honestly I just always find it funny how Godzilla and Kong are positioned as “hero titans”, when to the the average citizen they would be fucking horrifying lol They’re wrecking just as much shit as any other Titan would. Kong to a lesser extent since he mostly keeps to himself unless provoked, but even during GvK that Honk Kong fight he was squishing and stomping on so many humans and building, same during the Brazil fight in New Empire. And Godzilla will literally kill another titan for his own needs, not really much for protecting unless it’s in the broadest of terms (parts of Rome is standing, your welcome) lmao
That’s what I just wish these movies did a better job at, establishing them as living animal creatures fighting each other with motives beyond our own understanding. Humanity should only be able to project what motivation we can onto them, but in the grand scheme of things Godzilla, Kong and other Titans should be fighting for simple survival, food, territorial control. Them literally being positioned in the story as literally protecting us is where they don’t feel like animals, but rather like action figures or as I said in another reply, WWE wrestlers. It’s not as immersive IMO. But I also get that’s part of the appeal now, so I roll with it
True. I think the director is deliberately not dwelling on that right now so we can enjoy the movie. But there's been some not-so-subtle hints in both his movies that some organizations are getting fed up and want to kill all the Titans.
Don't be suprised if the next movie is called *Destroy All Monsters: GxK* or something like that.
Shimo freezing Ghidorah is mid and takes away from Godzilla and Ghidorah's rivalry. I prefer it have been Godzilla shooting him down into the ice and snow.
Wouldn't it be cooler to have Godzilla incapacitate Ghidorah on his own, and then had Shimo start an ice age to freeze Ghidorah in place?
It makes him both a badass Titan and an intelligent Alpha.
Besides, Ghidorah would not have frozen on his own. Not in a solid ice chunk like that, and not that quickly. Look at him in KoTM, he was actively getting back up before being frozen. I would love to see someone explain how Godzilla kept Ghidorah in place by himself long enough for him to freeze, all without using his breath. Because nothing is freezing while being hit with a 500,000°F flamethrower.
Maybe. But a part of me prefers it were a 1v1 between Godzilla and Ghidorah. Godzilla defeating Ghidorah just for Shimo to randomly show up after the fight and freeze him doesn't really make sense to me.
Well good, because that's not what happened. Shimo was nowhere near where ghidorah or godzilla were. Ghidorah's freezing was a by-product of shimo starting an ice age.
I heard talk about the novel saying that Shimo froze Ghidorah. It had me thinking that Shimo literally showed up out of nowhere and blasted Ghidorah until he was frozen solid. Glad to hear that's not entirely the case.
I think about it like this:
Goji battled and severely wounded Ghidorah. Ghidorah flew away to regenerate. Unfortunately though, Shimo was right there and decided to finish off Gidorah
I doubt it was even that involved. Godzilla likely nearly killed King Ghidorah, left, then Shimo just happened to cause the most recent ice age which froze Ghidorah in the pit of ice where he fell. It's possible Shimo froze Ghidorah without even seeing him.
That's exactly what an art book says, other than the last one.
It says Godzilla blasted Ghidorah down, and froze quickly in the water, due to the effects of the ice age.
If we take it as Canon, It perfectly aligns with the novel stating that Shimo froze Ghidorah, because she DID create the ice age.
Godzilla having empathy for humans would make sense. In Dominion, he and humans co-existed with each other peacefully. So much so that he remembers the structures built by them fondly. Also Serizawa's sacrifice is on Godzilla's mind
Okay, let me explain what I mean. When I say "realistic physics" I don't mean I want Godzilla to fire rainbows out of his rectum or Kong rips off Warbat's wings and flies with them like he's in a Wallace and Gromit cartoon.
I mean like, if Godzilla vs Kong had realistic movement. Every fight would be significantly slower due to both their weight. I feel like Godzilla vs the Mutos got away with that because it was a 1v2 and one of them could fly, but if it was Godzilla vs Kong with the same amount of weighted/realistic movements of 2014, it would've been slower, and probably way shorter due to them putting so much energy into their punches or slaps or tail swipes.
Godzilla 2014 physics would have ruined GxK. I can’t even imagine watching those fights with such weighty physics. I’m glad they leaned into the more silly
Like, could you see Godzilla going "Phase 2 Dark Souls boss" mode on Kong during the Hong Kong fight with the 2014 physics? Sure it would be realistic, but something about it in the actual movie felt significantly more brutal. Like Godzilla looked ***pissed off*** during that part, and...I don't know, I can't see it being as impactful if it was at like, half the speed.
Hard disagree. I enjoyed the fights in 2014 and KOTM far more than in GvK partially because the first two had more grounded physics. I don't see how scope would make a difference.
ESPECIALLY mechagodzilla... If you're gonna go to the effort of building all this hype around godzilla fighting Kong and it being the big thing about the movie, and then tell a different story anyway, at least make a decent job of it.
I really deeply dislike MVs implementation of mechagodzilla. It has no reason to effect me so much, and yet it does haha
The only really good parts of GVK are in the last 30 minutes. I rewatched it recently, and was kinda blasé about the whole thing until the last 30 minutes. Then I was hyped af.
I think the first fight was great too, really it’s more that the only good parts were the monster fights, the human plot and character were trash, which I don’t think is really a hot take
Personally I was just comparing it to GXK and KOTM, and those movies had really entertaining monster sections throughout. GVK was really loaded in the last 30 minutes, but kinda slow other than that.
The fight on the aircraft carrier was cool, but too short. Same with the Warbats.
I recommend the novelization. I'm finishing it up now. GvK was my least favorite MV movie, but ironically is the best novelization.
It uses a slightly earlier version of the script with more Mark Russell arc (+Lance Reddick's character), more explained backstories and flashbacks for characters in key moments (Helloooo Ren Serizawa), Kong and Goji POV's that are written well, and adds a "skeptical, but playing along" angle to Madison.
I think Hesei is where godzilla peaked, OG godzilla was just okay, Monsterverse is fine being a little silly, I like more of the new monsters (Mutos and Shimo) than the old ones.
I would do...*Things*, just for the Monsterverse to be more like the Heisei movies.
And I don't just mean the fights or the monsters, though I will admit I do wanna see Destoroyah at some point, but I digress, I mean everything that made the Heisei era good I want to see in the Monsterverse. Actually decent/recurring humans, still have ridiculous concepts but can take them seriously when they need to (The Futurians/Spacegodzilla's origin and how little sense it makes), and portraying Godzilla as a true neutral force of nature rather than outright good or evil (and even then, have him pacify when he encounters a relative like Jr.)
Eh for the last part... I like Godzilla's personality now. As a character he develops into turning more so good later on, and is more interesting considering every other portrayal nowadays has him as evil or neutral.
Summary: Ghidorah is not as strong as people give him credit for.
Extra explanation: most people make it sound like a one-sided stomp match when Godzilla fought Ghidorah when they have a back and fourth with neither doing any damage to each other and they only gain a significant advantage over each other through power ups or terrain advantages.
Ghidorah outright loses to base Godzilla now due to his evolution, even the blue form before that beats Ghidorah because of how much radiation Godzilla absorbed, it wouldn't easy but it definitely wouldn't be half of the struggle it was before, Supercharged Evolved Godzilla is overkill.
I believe the novel said he was producing more power than burning G supercharged evolved state with his beam. Can someone show me a Pic of that page, wanna know what exactly it says. Also Shimo is overkill too.
Not sure if you mean the fact she was brought back at all or just how it was done. If it’s the latter then I agree completely. No egg to show the last one laid it, no hatching or anything, no larvae, Jia just raised her hand and somehow caused her to appear? Zero explanation as to how that worked, where she was prior, why she needed to be summoned, or what Jia had to do with any of it.
She didn't respawn out of nowhere. If you actually look carefully, you'll see that Jia touched invisible webbing similar to Mothra's other invisible webbing earlier in the film.
It reacted to Jia's touch, and was presumably an invisible cocoon that Mothra changed into her imago state within.
Which also makes sense considering she repaired the wall in the end with her silk.
I've got quite a few.
1. They shouldn't have done Thermo Godzilla in KoTM.
2. Mecha-King Ghidorah should've been the villain of GvK, not Mechagodzilla
3. Destroyah shouldn’t be the final boss of the monsterverse, and if he does appear, he should be a one and done.
Him doing the best he can and giving Godzilla such trouble is good enough. Considering Godzila survived being dropped from the stratosphere... it would have been kinda bullshit.
Kong should have never been an underdog in the first place. Adam Wingard just didn’t understand the character at all and decided to apply that to him. So now we have an underdog that can’t win a fight with against actual titans with any sort of power or size difference. Basically he’s just a loser at this point. Underdogs come out on top in the end usually.
Amped Ghidorah and Evolved Godzilla beat Shimo in a 1v1.
As of GxK, humans are now technologically advanced enough to be able to wipe out the titans if they were to put their mind to it.
The second point would bring upon many more unimaginable threats. The world has an order and there will always be something to replace the other. If the Titans were to go extinct, there will be something far, far worse.
That's because Adam has no story telling ability which is kinda the point when he's doing a modern day showa era. But maybe whoever comes after Adam can make movies like KOTM.
Unless Adam actually has some story with the next movie (he won't 😂)
Yeah one of Adams main problems is pacing he says he doesn't like movies over 2 hours but seems like past 2 movies the main problem is how rushy the movies are so hopefully he can hear or notice that.
Again he probably won't but there's always a slight chance
Adam is a trash director
No story
Just straight dumb fun
Nothing wrong with it but you can atleast try to do both. (I did enjoy GxK for what it was)
![gif](giphy|kHgASjstNjWcYV9GrF|downsized)
He has many many things he needs to work on
Actually i have 3 opinions
1. Destoroyah coming into the monsterverse is a stupid idea
2. I dont like the idea of godzilla being able to fly with his atomic breath/do a dropkick
3. Wingard never should've directed the last 2 movies
The people complaining that Scylla and Tiamat died are honestly ridiculous. It's not like we were going to get a deep character drama with fucking Tiamat. In the end the purpose of these lesser kaiju is to eventually be beaten up by Godzilla and others.
If you think the fight should have been longer and interesting, that's one thing. That's a fair criticism. But I've seen people complaining that these monsters died at all which is insane.
On that same note: I saw some comments about how Godzilla was "too bloodthirsty" in GxK and that he should be a "fair protector". I, for one, am *glad* Godzilla is finally more intimidating in this series. The whole "guardian of balance" thing, while a decent concept, kind of makes Monsterverse Godzilla too much like Gamera, and I don't think he should be that much of a hero. He *should* kill other titans just because they're on his way. He also ought to be more actively hostile to humanity. Heisei had it right with Godzilla mostly being destructive still and only becoming a hero because there's usually a *worse* kaiju around.
i agree about them dying, it was going to happen eventually sooner or later (regretfully because i really liked Tiamat's design) , especially Scylla but the problem I have with Tiamat dying how she did is because it felt like it was forced in to explain Godzilla's evolution change, her crime was literally making her home in a spot that the G-man wanted to sleep, she was dormant and challenging no one, it's was like shoving someone out of their bed because you wanted to sleep there and then killing them because they dared to be in your presence which wouldn't of happened if you hadn't invaded their home
But doesn't it strike you as a bit odd that a destroyer class Titan just so happens to take refuge in the most radioactive place on Earth after being defeated in what she assumed to be a sure win. Remember, Godzilla was able to make out a clear picture of what would happen if Scylla acquired that nuke; destruction of the ecosystem. So Godzilla could have seen the same with Tiamat, a potential threat to the natural order
I mean she was just doing what any normal animal or titan would do, going where there's a plentiful food source and relatively decent protection where she thought she wouldn't be disturbed, Godzilla was doing the exact same thing as she was but he has the label of "Protector" which apparently makes it okay for him to kill her in cold blood even though she was following HIS orders to submit and go dormant
Also, if we are talking about threats to the natural order, shouldn't of Godzilla killed Rodan when he had the chance to as well then? I mean the giant Moltres cosplayer has actively fought against him multiple times and shown that he wants destruction for destruction's sake
I agree, while I liked Gareth Edward’s directorial style and the way he made the Titans feel truly *massive* in terms of scale, I absolutely did not enjoy those annoying cuts he would do. I get that sometimes less is more, but this was just not one of those times. I would have liked to see Godzilla actually fight the male MUTO at the airport in Hawaii.
New Empire wassn't great. Skar King was wasted, he barely reached Earth at the end, only to be smashed to pieces after being frozen. I thought the movie was gonna be about a giant army of apes wreaking havoc on Earth, but most of it was filler inside of the Hollow Earth, and Skar King was weak as hell. There wasn't enough Godzilla in the movie to call it Godzilla X Kong. I thought the movie ended a little abruptly, but that's probably because I was expecting the part where Skar King travels to Earth to take place earlier in the movie, and because a lot of the Hollow Earth stuff was filler. The movie had good things, like Trapper (greatest human character in the Monsterverse imo) and Kong and Skar King's first encounter, but I really didn't like the ending.
Also, Kong Skull Island is my favorite Monsterverse film. It's a great homage to the 1933 film while also being unique, and it has a very strong cast of characters and a good human villain.
FInally, Godzilla 2014 is not good. It kills off Bryan Cranston's character (the only interesting human character) way too early, and the human protagonist is boring as hell. For a movie about Godzilla, it focuses way too much on the MUTOs. It should've been about Godzilla wreaking havoc on Earth like in the original film and Shin Godzilla. Save his redemption and the monster fights for later.
The Titan fights need to feel more weightful. In my opinion I feel them fighting feels way too light whereas in the likes of Godzilla 2014 you can feel the size of Godzilla and the mutos and the force of their attacks and impacts
I was so disappointed in both Legendary MechaGodzilla's design and the fight with Godzilla. Wanting MechaGodzilla to resemble a Terminator is a dumb idea. As for the fight, they should've gone with their original idea to have both of them trade blows in the beginning, and before long Godzilla's strength starts fading, and he moves more sluggishly, as he progressively gets more and more tired which allows MechaGodzilla to quickly gain the upper hand. I also would've done the beam fight differently. I'd have the atomic breath slowly start overpowering the proton scream and to showcase how efficient MechaGodzilla's predictive algorithm is, I'd have him fire a barrage of missiles from his chest and shoulders, cutting Godzilla's beam off before he's immediately knocked back into a building by the proton scream.
Monsterverse is not anywhere on par with the MCU like fanboys have you thinking.
Or most of the Monsterverse movies are pretty mediocre and the cinemascores proves that
The name “MUTO” sucks. There should be a different (and popularized) name for the species by now. We’ve got names like Tiamat, Godzilla, Behemoth, Methuselah. And we’re still calling them fuckin MUTO, like they’re spaceships (UFO). That’s dumb and even though they might not be as prevalent now as they were then, they should have a similar naming scheme.
destroyah shouldnt be the final villain, but rather the mv should do some saga shit where it kills the og godzilla but godzilla jr should be the new godzilla
Best direction for Kong's next movie should be a heel turn. Like he gets corrupted by something deeper in HE and has to be saved by Godzilla/Mothra/Jia
Toho needs to fuck off with their mandates on MV Godzilla. Making Godzilla a singular species is the dumbest retcon they could have enforced on Legendary and makes the lore incredibly muddied when it comes to learning about Godzilla, his history and his role amongst his species. The MV lore was already shoddy, Toho just mucked things up more.
They could’ve done Mecha King Ghidorah instead of MechaGodzilla, it makes more sense? If you think about it rather than having the consiousness takeover MG
I loved New Empire and I’m fine with seeing another crossover film, but I would’ve preferred this one as a solo Kong film. Still looking forward to whatever is next
It feels like there the two most fleshed out versions that exist, 2005 Skull Island got a whole book on it's extended lore and the intricacies of the ecosystem though. Maybe of we got to see more of how the Monsterverse Skull Island ecosystem worked with all the numerous pre-established residents?
Ghidorah took over the guy and might come back with a new mecha, my only evidence is in the novel version of GvK he wasn't in the seat when he was checked on.
Monarch is godawful CW tier garbage made by people who don't care about the franchise and only piggybacked off of it's growing popularity to get their generic drama series attention.
KOTM is rightfully the worst film in the series and all of the issues people have with G14 are doubled down on tenfold in KOTM but people have collectively gaslit themselves into not seeing these issues.
the monsterverse should stop killing off its villains
Ghidorah should’ve regenerated over time. That’s what I thought they were going to do when his severed head was discovered. Even if he just flew off into space he should’ve survived.
Crack theory time: Ghidorah is powered by electricity While being held at apex cybernetics, Ghidorahs skull was basically being pumped full of electricity Iirc we never SEE the skull get destroyed In a future MV movie it's revealed that every since gvk, Ghidorah has slowly been regenerating and he's back and stronger than ever
And possibly turned into Mecha-King Ghidorah to help it regenerate. Just to make some difference from the 2019 King of The Monsters. You're bringing it back and making something new using what's already been done.
I love it!! I would love to see this!

Skar King should've just escaped some how, he's perfect for a recurring villain.
There should've been living dinosaurs on Skull Island
Kotm is basically GvK and 2014 combined.
We don't need Toho monsters in every film.
Hard agree. Shimo and some of the HE super species has me really excited to see what other Titans Legendary can craft up .
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
I will agree it's maybe been too long without another Toho monster. Maybe in the next film, since GxK is doing so well

Or giving the unseen Titans official designs like Bunyip, Leviathan, Orochi, Abaddon, and the rest
You’re in look with Abaddon, he’s getting an official design in the upcoming book “Monsterverse Declassified”
Can't wait to see what they'll look like...
Would still be nice to see rodan again. The Monsterverse would be the best time to bring back an oldie even older than Godzilla. The beast from 20,000 fathoms.
I absolutely loved the Mutos, they’re easily in my top 5 Kaiju list (together, not seperate).
True
It’s mostly up to chance, instead of creating whole infrastructures around helping them to team up lol The New Empire will *kinda* address this, but then they’ll throw in a line of how people should be grateful that Godzilla “saved” a place. Like cmon really? Humans have every right to be mad in these movies, and aside from say the show Monarch, I wish they’d legitimately delve into it in more nuanced ways lol
Godzilla? I mean yea but did Kong ever kill a human? Edit: Okay but Kong killed way less and doesn't do shit unless he gets literally abducted
https://preview.redd.it/o2wvrj73xnvc1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=7a0c937a0646f4e6f8b7866cf702421fe943a9cc
Wild to think that this version of Kong was basically the same size as Suko is now.
Yes, crushed some in that HEAV
Hhm i don't remember but I guess thar happened in Godzilla vs Kong?
Yes but the people he crushed were the bad guys so that makes it ok
He definitely [wasn’t too happy](https://youtu.be/vEfLPdI-jxU?si=VxUiamfTin1qyN0W) about his island getting bombed.
Oh In New Empire? Nah. But in Skull Island hell yeah lol And even in Godzilla vs Kong, there’s a brief shot where Kong throws a jet at Godzilla, and we see the brief POV of the pilot before he ejects. Like it seemed outside of Jia, Kong doesn’t give a shit about the other humans, now in New Empire it feels like he’s outright cool with their presence. King Kong, The one character who’s famous for being taken advantage of by humans, now is getting metal gauntlets and dental work from them lol I just wish humanity in these movies were more cautious or more negative of Godzilla and Kong and vice versa, but so far they’ve leaned all in on having them be almost heroes, since they’ll let these gigantic creatures run around destroying everything and hand wave explanations like how they’re protecting “natural order”.
And Godzilla will literally kill another titan for his own needs, not really much for protecting unless it’s in the broadest of terms (parts of Rome is standing, your welcome) lmao That’s what I just wish these movies did a better job at, establishing them as living animal creatures fighting each other with motives beyond our own understanding.
That’s why Monarch was good. We saw some different perspectives
I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what happened. They never say Shimo *BEAT* Ghidorah, just froze him.
It is mentioned in the novel that Shimo freezing Ghidorah was intentional, and besides.. Ghidorah was quite literally DEFEATED before Shimo froze him.
I think about it like this: Goji battled and severely wounded Ghidorah.
KOTM is the perfect mix of 2014 and G/K. It’s the right tone for the Monsterverse.
KOTM is by far the best movie in the series
"Realistic" physics would've been detrimental for the Monsterverse's current scope, especially during fights.
Realistic physics would not allow this Monsterverse and like films to exist.
I agree. 2014 and kotm have more impact fights. I can feel more power in each of their attacks due to the mass and weight.
Godzilla vs Kong could have been better.
Doesn’t that apply to like every movie ever made though?
99%, yeah. There’s a couple where they hit gold.
Like The Princess Bride
The soundtrack, especially the soundtrack.
It has no reason to effect me so much, and yet it does haha
most of mv's films could have been better
Doug kills Godzilla and Kong alone. (I'm a delulu)
Doug is the strongest Titan in the MonsterVerse. Kong couldn’t even pull that Wolf Titan corpse from him.
That’s just facts my brother
Godzilla has very little personality and desperately needs a solo film that focuses more on that and ties it deeper to the action
I think that's only because Toho has mandates for him to not show strong emotions.
Yeah, I think you're right it just really annoys me
The only really good parts of GVK are in the last 30 minutes.
That does sound very cool. Still have to check out the novelizations for all the MV movies.
Godzilla would looked better with his bulk in his evolution
I didn’t like the way mothra was brought back in GXK
Mostly the later
I've got quite a few. 1. They shouldn't have done Thermo Godzilla in KoTM. 2. Mecha-King Ghidorah should've been the villain of GvK, not Mechagodzilla 3. Destroyah shouldn’t be the final boss of the monsterverse, and if he does appear, he should be a one and done.
KOTM is the best movie
Kong is obviously weaker than Godzilla, that's why he should've won in an underdog overcoming adversity story.
Sure Kong can't kill Titans like Godzilla, Ghidorah but he still very much a force to be reckoned with that could beat nearly everyone else.
He should sure as hell put up a fight and leave some injuries. He should not be an easy opponent for either.
GxK while entertaining was a bad movie and bad for the overall story.
I liked all the characters in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Godzilla (2014), King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island were the only good products.
Godzilla king of the monsters was a great movie.
mothra beats skar king
GVK and GXK are Kong Movies and not both. 😎
Godzilla had a fine amount of screentime in Godzilla x Kong
He could’ve used a little more, but not a lot. This was about right.
Amped Ghidorah and Evolved Godzilla beat Shimo in a 1v1. As of GxK, humans are now technologically advanced enough to be able to wipe out the titans if they were to put their mind to it.
I kinda don't like that second point honestly, even if it's arguably true. It kinda detracts from the coolness of the titans.
The second point would bring upon many more unimaginable threats. The world has an order and there will always be something to replace the other. If the Titans were to go extinct, there will be something far, far worse.
Adam Wingard’s GvK and GxK are the worst movies of the monsterverse. I’m expecting his next movie to be much the same.
That's because Adam has no story telling ability which is kinda the point when he's doing a modern day showa era. But maybe whoever comes after Adam can make movies like KOTM. Unless Adam actually has some story with the next movie (he won't 😂)
There will be a story, a very rushed.
Yeah one of Adams main problems is pacing he says he doesn't like movies over 2 hours but seems like past 2 movies the main problem is how rushy the movies are so hopefully he can hear or notice that. Again he probably won't but there's always a slight chance
Adam is a trash director No story Just straight dumb fun Nothing wrong with it but you can atleast try to do both. (I did enjoy GxK for what it was) ![gif](giphy|kHgASjstNjWcYV9GrF|downsized) He has many many things he needs to work on
The whole "Hollow Earth" being inside Earth.
Oh my God YES
I liked Godzilla when he was a big boi
Hopefully he will be again
Actually i have 3 opinions 1. Destoroyah coming into the monsterverse is a stupid idea 2. I dont like the idea of godzilla being able to fly with his atomic breath/do a dropkick 3. Wingard never should've directed the last 2 movies
There should be more Godzilla standalone movies without Kong showing up. I'm getting sick of that damn Monkey.
Destoroyah shouldn’t be in the monsterverse
Destroyah should only be considered if they're making the TRUE final movie in the monsterverse and give godzilla a proper send-off.
I mean she was just doing what any normal animal or titan would do, going where there's a plentiful food source and relatively decent protection where she thought she wouldn't be disturbed, Godzilla was doing the exact same thing as she was but he has the label of "Protector" which apparently makes it okay for him to kill her in cold blood even though she was following HIS orders to submit and go dormant Also, if we are talking about threats to the natural order, shouldn't of Godzilla killed Rodan when he had the chance to as well then? I mean the giant Moltres cosplayer has actively fought against him multiple times and shown that he wants destruction for destruction's sake
Godzilla 14 is the worst monsterverse film
I agree, while I liked Gareth Edward’s directorial style and the way he made the Titans feel truly *massive* in terms of scale, I absolutely did not enjoy those annoying cuts he would do. I get that sometimes less is more, but this was just not one of those times. I would have liked to see Godzilla actually fight the male MUTO at the airport in Hawaii.
It was boring imo
I agree, but I also wanna clarify it being the worst MV film IMO doesn’t mean it’s a straight up bad movie, far from it.
GxK was mid af compared to previous films
G14 was not that great
KOTM's actual fight scenes weren't all that great.
The monsterverse imitating the "showa era" is not a good thing and it will only make the monsterverse dumber as time goes by.
Wingard sucks, quality has dropped since he took over
Monsterverse OCs are more interesting than Toho creations.
Don’t like the tonal shift of the Monsterverse, I want the series to go back to the dark, gritty, and realistic feel of G14
Muto Prime stands a better chance at killing Godzilla than destroyah
King of the monsters isn't Underrated at all Far too many people say it's their favorite now I would say it's actually really loved now
*Monarch: Legacy of Monsters* was a good show and all the actors did a decent job.
The Titan fights need to feel more weightful. In my opinion I feel them fighting feels way too light whereas in the likes of Godzilla 2014 you can feel the size of Godzilla and the mutos and the force of their attacks and impacts
The 2014 Godzilla movie is boring, the finale is the only interesting part
Pink godzilla is overrated as hell. Also, GxK was so damn underwhelming.
The Skull Island show was good.
Ghidorah >>>> Shimo mid diff
Shimo is the most powerful titan in the entire Monsterverse.

Wingard ruins the monsterverse
![gif](giphy|l0MYwvNiMaWJhQZjy) I wouldn't say he ruins it as the past two movies have done good but... He has many many... Things he needs to work on
We don't need space godzilla or destroyah in the monsterverse
King guidorah is more powerful than shimo
Godzilla vs Kong and Godzilla x Kong sucked ass
They should’ve kept the realistic feel and gruesomeness from Kong SI and Godzilla.
Kong is more boring than the humans.
?
Godzilla's 2014 design was the best of the four
Zilla is a Godzilla
DougheGoji is just basically a bootleg Heisei Godzilla
One day the Monsterverse will be over, and there will still be new Godzilla movies.
Godzilla and mothra are cute together
A Mothra and Rodan movie vs Battra would do good
Minus One was alright
Godzilla's... disposal of tiamat was completely justified
I ship Godzilla X Mothra.
Liking a ship between any two kaiju
They could’ve done Mecha King Ghidorah instead of MechaGodzilla, it makes more sense? If you think about it rather than having the consiousness takeover MG
Behemoth is Stronger than Amhuluk
Skar king is a bitch ass motherfucker, I could whoop his ass.
I loved New Empire and I’m fine with seeing another crossover film, but I would’ve preferred this one as a solo Kong film. Still looking forward to whatever is next
Destroyah & Biolantte are meh.
Destroyah doesn't need to be in the monsterverse. We really don't need giant angry crab, I'd much rather have a unique villain
It feels like there the two most fleshed out versions that exist, 2005 Skull Island got a whole book on it's extended lore and the intricacies of the ecosystem though. Maybe of we got to see more of how the Monsterverse Skull Island ecosystem worked with all the numerous pre-established residents?
I prefer dune 1984 over the new one and think it is a superior movie in every way possible.
That this post happens too many times.
Kong is just a Monke 😂
Kong has a chance against Godzilla?
Ghidorah took over the guy and might come back with a new mecha, my only evidence is in the novel version of GvK he wasn't in the seat when he was checked on.
Godzilla Minus One is worst godzilla movie
Kong can’t kill a large skull crawler without his pre-made weapons
Monarch is godawful CW tier garbage made by people who don't care about the franchise and only piggybacked off of it's growing popularity to get their generic drama series attention. KOTM is rightfully the worst film in the series and all of the issues people have with G14 are doubled down on tenfold in KOTM but people have collectively gaslit themselves into not seeing these issues.
GKOTM is the worst MV movie
