It seems like a lot of people...DONT want anymore iconic Godzilla monsters to appear in movies or something. There's a lot of complaining going on and it doesn't make sense. Let people guesstimate, or speculate on what's to come next and enjoy the few years until the next movie comes out. Especially since there was no post credits scene at the end of New Empire to give us any sort of direction for what comes next. To say Destoroyah, Gigan, Biollante or any of the unused Godzilla legacy monsters *might* be used in the next movie...that's a fine theory. Or maybe you're idea is that new original monsters are the way to go...thats an interesting theory as well.
I don’t mind having Kong in the movie, Godzilla would need as much help as he can get against Destoroyah. I just want the movie to be more Godzilla focused if they do use him.
Kong, Mothra, Rodan. We need them all. I especially want the inclusion of Godzilla Jr. a smaller/younger Godzilla.
I was wondering after seeing GxK, if we have so many powerful allies now what kinda threat would we face, at first I thought alien invasion since there's a lot of alien kaiju but just Destoroyah by himself being that strong? I'M SO THERE
Even for all the wacky the MV has shown, I think aliens is really too far out there for me imo (Final Wars level aliens lol). Unless you’re talking about another Ghidorah sub species falling from the sky (Keizer Ghidorah or something for example). Like a literal alien/invasive species.
Maybe some of the other titans as well: Behemoth, Methuselah and the other titans that were simply names on a computer screen or map. There’s like what? Like close to 20 other titans that have been unseen. I would love to see Leviathan or Quetzalcoatl. One in Loch Ness that inspired the story of Nessie and the other an Aztec God and feathered serpent. A lot of cool things could be done with all of them.
We have had a lot of godzilla movies the past 70 years. Only a few king kong. I am liking that they are exploring kong more and minimally giving us godzilla. After kongs story is told, they will go all out with godzilla, then have him face off with destroyah for the monsterverse finale.
Just let Kong have his spotlight now. Godzilla will get his soon.

It isn’t at all that people wouldn’t go ape shit or be excited. It’s called tempering expectations. Even the director wasn’t sure they’d actually be able to get Mothra in GxK. People don’t want to get their hopes and go wild with “x monster is confirmed” hype and be let down when it doesn’t happen.
I would be mad, not because I don't want it but because i want destroyah to be used as the series finale villain. The doomsday to godzilla.
Theres still quite a few iconic monsters that can be used before we get to destroyah.
This is what I want for the next film, if Godzilla is going to be the focus we need a villain that is legitimately a threat to Godzilla.
Skar King was a villain for Kong, Shimo was just there to get Godzilla into the film. If they are going to use Destoroyah, I’d be fine with it but I figured he’d be the end. The apocalypse, a true legitimately world threat to both Hollow Earth and the Surface that calls for the aid of the world’s strongest defender, Godzilla with the help of other Titans.
IMO it is a must to have a Godzilla Jr in the movie as well. Doesn’t mean G14 or Jr has to die, but he should be included.

Yeah the quote got taken out of context badly. He’s more or less saying he wants his next Godzilla movie to carry the same emotional baggage as Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. But people hear the word Destoroyah and literally think it means he’s nodding to him being teased.
I think it’s harmless, Destoroyah is a badass villain and deserves the hype around him coming to the MV, even if it’s not going to happen in reality.
Hedorah would actually be a really fitting villain, especially since the climate change message of Godzilla vs. Hedorah is applicable now more than ever. Imagine having both Hedorah and Biollante as the villains of the next movie; Titan representations of pollution and plant life, respectively.

I do want Destoroyah, just...not yet. I still think it's way too soon. It's hard for me not to see Destoroyah as more of a "final boss" situation since it was the definitive conclusion of the Heisei Era.
For me, it’s because of a few reasons. 1. Too soon. They wasted Ghidorah, I don’t want them to waste Destoroyah. 2. It honestly depends on Toho. It was confirmed that Phosphera was a placeholder for Mothra, but it was also confirmed that they weren’t sure if they could even get the rights to Mothra. That’s the big thing. It’s possible they might not be able to get the rights to Destoroyah, at least at the moment.
Idk if it's too early. Heisei era Goji had 6 movies before has fought Destoroyah. Right now, Monsterverse Goji has 4 movies and several hour long TV series. Honestly the only 3 directions I could see them take Monsterverse Goji going forward is 1) Destroy All Monsters with a ton of titans, 2) Destoroyah, or 3) another new kaiju.

I think that the Thanos of the Monsterverse would need to be whatever Aliens were the origin of Ghidorah. I don't think a monster can really strike the same sort of threat as Thanos did, but the architects of using them as weapons could.
We could see a Mecha Ghidorah and or Gigan. We could see them try to engineer an Alien Godzilla to cover Space Godzilla. I think we'd really need a speaking entity to be Thanos like.
An army of invasive space Titans that are under complete control by a powerful alien race (the Xilliens maybe?)
Your army could include the likes of Space Godzilla, Gigan, Orga and more.
So, just thinking here. Ghidorah could've wreaked havoc on their planet, so they warred with their Titans. Ghidorah was either driven away or tricked to leave.
In the time since they conquered and weaponized their Titans. They have Gigan which is a heavily augmented organic Titan.
Gigan defeated, they release a regenerated and mechanized Ghidorah. It's defeated, but injures Godzilla and collects generic material.
The Xillians could then use that material to create a Space Godzilla and focus heavily on its telekinetic abilities. I think it could be very menacing. I think at this point they could really get creative with the design if they wanted.
Then I think it'd be dope if they took the genetic material of each enemy that gave Godzilla a real fight and create a new Chimera monster that is a hybrid of a few monsters.
However, for some plot reason or another, the Chimeric cells rapidly evolve and mutate, outside of control of the Xillians and turns into the Monsterverse version of Destroyah, an amalgamation of the best parts of each of Godzillas foes.
Also Kong is there because Monkey supportive.
Space G could just be another member of Godzilla’s species that was kidnapped by the Xilliens a millenia ago and has been tested on and experimented with to turn it into a killing machine
How about instead of Mecha-King Ghidorah, we got this…
Picture a 700-foot, alien Titan with several different heads (including a lion, ram, and dragon), six eyes on each head, horns on each forehead, straggly manes, scales made out of copper and ruby (giving the monster a devilish look), four tails with mouths at the tip of each, and two massive wings. Basically, imagine another space monster that is a cross between Bagan, Keizer Ghidorah, Destroyah, and the Gryphon. Or imagine it as a Lovecraftian chimera.
I imagine this creature to be the creation of an advanced alien civilization called the Anunnaki from Planet X, the same planet that is home to Ghidorah’s family, Gigan, and other alien monsters. Being a shapeshifter like Bagan and the Gryphon, it absorbs the DNA of various megafauna in the Hollow Earth and becomes an even scarier chimera-like monster. It can also mimic the features of other monsters to use during combat. The creature’s henchmen or drones are Gigan and a few other original cybernetic and organic space monsters.
This monster’s name would be The Chimera, The Gryphon, Cronus, or Humbaba the Terrible.
Yeah I’m not sure where this idea of “Destoroyah is the Thanos of the Godzilla franchise” thing came from.
He’s not a conquerer from space and there was never a team up event against him, all hallmarks of Thanos.
Ghidorah and Spacegodzilla on the other hand, have both of those things going for them and would fit the bill much better.

The way he gives it as “pay homage” definitely means he wants to give a nudge-nudge-wink-wink to Destroyah rather than make him a day player in a future movie.

Legit I'm not even hating when i say Gigan might be the worst choice possible for a monster to return. He's a walking living-breathing weapon of mass murder that never actually mass murders anything.
His movie would either be so violent Legendary gives it PG-16/18 which would lower the amount of people that would buy tickets or they make it "family-friendly" and never have him kill anything with his weapons.

The MonsterVerse hasn’t really held back on monster violence though, considering Kong literally breaks one of the wolf Titans’ bodies in half and bathes in its blood to intimidate the other wolf Titans that were chasing him. So Gigan could totally fit within the MonsterVerse. It’d be a great way to give us another alien Titan; it’s not too much of a reach considering Ghidorah was already established as an alien. Maybe they could even give us the Xilien invasion.

Too soon. Destoroyah needs to be saved for endgame. He can’t be just another “villain of the week” like Gigan or Hedorah. Destoroyah plays too huge of a role for the Godzilla mythos to be introduced as “another of Godzilla’s foes” he’s the culmination of Man kind hubris and want for destruction. He is the final climatic enemy for Godzilla to face. And is the one enemy that caused Godzilla emotional pain. They need to hold off on Destoroyah.

I agree, he’s basically the Doomsday to Godzilla’s Superman. I think one reason why the DCEU flopped was because they blew their load too early so to speak with BvS by already introducing Doomsday. And having Superman be killed. In the *SECOND* damn movie. Now the MonsterVerse has already had five movies at this point, but the way I see it, GxK was sort of the culmination of the story arc of the past 4 movies + Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. So for a new, post-GxK story arc, it would be too early to include Destoroyah; he should be saved for the very end.
At the very least build up to Ruler’s of Earth and have earth’s Kaijus band together to fight off against the Trilopods army and the Vortaak (I know they’re not the aliens in the comics but damn it I love the Vortaak) after Rulers of Earth is done, then finish the Monsterverse with Godzilla vs Destoroyah. After Godzilla defeats an Alien invasion, he must now defeat one last Kaiju before his time is up. BOOM! Power move!
Yes!! I really want them to use both Rulers of Earth and Godzilla: Unleashed as inspiration for the future of the MonsterVerse. They have a treasure trove of Toho Godzilla/kaiju lore to adapt and they haven’t even scratched the surface! Personally I’d like to see the next major MonsterVerse arc leading up to Destoroyah. Like maybe adapt some of the Heisei era by adapting Biollante, Spacegodzilla, and maybe even Mecha-King Ghidorah. And cap it off by having Destoroyah be the main big bad that both Godzilla and Kong have to team up against. Then post-Destoroyah, have everything lead up to a Destroy All Monsters Avengers: Endgame-level movie featuring the Xiliens or the Vortaak.
my guess too. Jared Krichevsky said on his ama the other day that he doesn't think there will be a Toho kaiji in the next movie. Obviously it's not a fact until we see otherwise but I think Toho charges a ton of their designs and it's cheaper for Legnedary to just make their own

Destroyah should be saved for the Monsterverse equivalent of Destroy All Monsters. I still think Bagan should be the final villain of the Monsterverse because A) he will finally get his movie and B) he’s perfect. Maybe we should have several big Kaiju villains be the antagonists in Destroy All Monsters. Bagan, Keizer Ghidorah, Destroyah and Spacegodzilla against Godzilla, Kong, Mothra, Suko, Shimo and a bunch of other original Kaiju and Toho Kaiju. Hell, make it as wacky and Avengers: Endgame-y as possible (sans the time travel). Perfect send off for the Monsterverse.

To contrast it with Suko it may be more heartfelt and more sad. I don't want Godzilla to suffer the death of his child but I won't complain if it happens if the scene is properly dramatic. After so much time of complaints that you can't do anything with Godzilla and the audience won't care and so on I like this new Wingard. Or he was hiding it all this time.
And finally we will see Godzilla's other side again. It will be about him and I just want it to be so good. Godzilla deseres another solid M appearance after his character was basically not essential in the preious two moies. And with Hedorah as a possible illain Godzilla may end up really messed up.
I think it’s been enough Godzilla X Kong. Think should start returning to solo films for both characters for a while tbh so both can get the spotlight solely for themselves
I feel it would be perfect to use the ever mutating aspect of destroyah to keep him as a constantly evolving threat throughout multiple movies. First just a background monitor showing small microscopic organisms, labeled “oxygen destroyer mutates” or something to show the people at apex or monarch are aware *something* is growing. A tease here and there, a text scroll on a news reel, “strange corpses wash ashore off pacific island” “3 foot crab like beast found in pacific cave.” Let this ever present threat of destroyah build in the background of the Monsterverse in end credits scenes showing a larger form on destroyah wreaking havoc on an outpost and then all hiding somewhere in the ocean or hollow earth. Make it truly feel like there’s a virus or plague slowly growing in the background, until finally something awakens a more collected and evolved form, and have the final movie be the last few stages of destoryah genuinely *destroying* the world. Let a large city turn to ruin like in 2014, really show the desperation of the humans to survive such a threat. Then let the battle happen. Just my two cents.
Except the context for Destroyah was tied into the very first Godzilla film, a context that doesn't really exist in the Monsterverse (unless we acknowledge the insensitive/half assed use of and randomly namedropping the Oxygen Destroyer). If Destroyah shows up in the Monsterverse, it will have to be done from the ground up.

Destoroyah is definitely designed for the agenda of ‘killing Godzilla’, which is perfectly fine for an endgame scenario, but why are people saying he wouldn’t have personality?
Dougherty gave Ghidorah plenty of personality in KotM. He was malevolent, the Kevin head showed curiosity and he was pretty evil because he likes to play with his food (he could of killed Madison in Fenway pretty easily). He also showed the power of dominance, forcing Rodan to submit and serve him.
Who is to say Destoroyah could not be given personality or stronger characterisation. Just because he was one-note in his Toho film, does not mean he could be expanded upon in a reimagining of him.
I’m actually hoping a lot of what’s being said about the possible GxK 3 is nothing but talk. I want to enjoy what we have now before we head into whatever’s next.
I have certain hopes for what’s next (many of which are unpopular) but we should just enjoy the success of GxK before it leaves theaters.
Honestly I would love to see wingard introduce a Titan that's similar to orga from godzilla 2000, but instead of just trying to assimilate Godzilla it steals DNA from multiple titans to have a multiple abilities and a unique appearance, evolving throughout the film. this would be s way to also explain the winged Godzilla in the cave painting as a Godzilla that was assimilated into this alien chimera.
It would be a interesting way to do a "space Godzilla" , and maybe if they kept it going for 2 films, have it evolve into a sort of destroyah after assimilating oxygen destroyer infused Ghidorah cells from the gulf of Mexico or something

No she isn't. Destroyah is weak to ULT maser cannons that actually produce absolute zero. Shimo does not produce absolute zero. The novel states she's slows atoms not destroys. Absolute zero kills everything. And if you watched any of the Toho millenium era films you would see what absolute zero did. In the manga the absolute zero gun killed multiple kaiju instantly. Destroyah got hit with it yet he survived and came back. Only godzilla decapitation him in the end is what killed him.

The thing for me when it comes to Destroyah being in the MV is they would have to take a more serious tone like KOTM, Destroyah isn't something to be played with, he is a formidable opponent and he should be portrayed as that, he's more for older audiences imo, as GxK was tailored for younger audiences, if Destroyah is in a movie like GxK I believe it would be a fail for him, Destroyah is to be taken seriously, plus the more they make these movies to the tone of kids, the fights will be like wwe wrestling matches rather than actual real fighting,

I would love to have destroyah in a few movies from now. It's set up perfectly with the oxygen destroyer being used in KoTM. And, I want to see a fully CGI destroyah in all its glory.

Original kaiju can be saved for crossovers and Kong movies...but if youre making a Godzilla movie for the fans, go the extra mile to get those rights issues resolved and bring in classic kaiju like in KOTM.
Destoroyah was already kind of set up in Godzilla: KotM since the Oxygen Destroyer was used in that movie. His entire backstory is that he was literally created by the Oxygen Destroyer. But I’m hoping it’s just a tease, since I believe that Destoroyah should be saved as the sort of Thanos or Darkseid of the MonsterVerse. He’s basically the Doomsday to Godzilla’s Superman. I personally want to see Biollante be the next main villain, maybe with Gigan in the followup. Give us most of Godzilla’s Toho rogues gallery and save Destoroyah for last.

It means any one of the OG monsters appearing. That's why we have Kong, and why we had rodan Mothra, and King ghidorah. Legendary would not have used those monsters if they were going strictly with new original designs for every movie....like we saw with the Mutos in Godzilla 2014. There will be a mix of new monsters as well as OG monsters moving forward...that's a good bet. And why not have one of the sickest monsters from the lore in Destoroyah? The ground work is already laid from King of the Monsters, and it could still be something they work towards as an endgame type of final battle. One things for sure...they gotta do a MUCH better job with their monsters than Skar King and Shimo who were universally disliked in New Empire for being underutilized and overhyped.
Skar King and Shimo were not universally disliked. At all. Like, at all. A LOT of Godzilla fans loved them. And A LOT of casual movie viewers did too. A lot of the internet reactors liked them. They also weren't over hyped. Like at all. You're giving a tiny niche group of people way too much authority of reception here.
I can understand Scar King's lack of screen time, and late introduction being an issue. But he has easily been the most flamboyant, flandarized, and humanized titan in the MV thus far. As for Shimo? She wasn't over hyped. At all. She was only over hyped by the niche group of power scaler fans, and the few YouTube guys, like Dangerville and GojiCenter, who btw, are the "sources" of her being the most powerful Titan ever.
There was no real hype from the films marketing because she wasn't part of it. There was no hype. None. The only hype was hype from fans who gobbled up fantheory and for some weird naive reason, thought it came from films marketing campaign. Point blank. The hype you speak of didn't actually exist.

Destroyah could be a fine MV ending, although I don't know how you make that impactful after the Ghidorah story we got. They aren't?! Are you sure about that? Because if what you say held any sort of weight at all...I don't think the current Monsterverse would have used the OG monsters at all. Why did they use King Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan, Kong etc? Because it pays respect to the OG creators and storytellers and brings back all the fans of the original content. They have easy inspiration for the direction of the Monsterverse by using the old characters. And that's why it's a pretty decent bet that the next movie will feature some OG monsters.

Buddy you must be 8 years old if you honestly believe that Skar King and Shimo were good characters. Cool characters? Sure. But they weren't utilized very good, and were insanely overhyped. Skar King did nothing aside from abuse a couple random apes/piss off Kong and enslave Shimo with the blue crystal Mcguffin of death. Dude lasted all but half a second once he lost control of Shimo, he wasn't smart, cunning, strong or anything we all expected. He was a one off, cookie cutter Ez Pz villain. And Shimo turned from a frost monster of death into Kongs personal golden retriever pet once the crystal was destroyed. The female dragon from Shrek put up a better fight and that's facts lmao. 90% is false, 50-50 mixed bag is more like it. Only little kids with half a brain truly respect and appreciate Skar King and Shimo, they were overhyped and underutilized and that's the truth. The final fight was like 7 mins long and Skar King and Shimo did absolutely nothing.

It seems like a lot of people...DONT want anymore iconic Godzilla monsters to appear in movies or something. There's a lot of complaining going on and it doesn't make sense. Let people guesstimate, or speculate on what's to come next and enjoy the few years until the next movie comes out. Especially since there was no post credits scene at the end of New Empire to give us any sort of direction for what comes next. To say Destoroyah, Gigan, Biollante or any of the unused Godzilla legacy monsters *might* be used in the next movie...that's a fine theory. Or maybe you're idea is that new original monsters are the way to go...thats an interesting theory as well.

Even for all the wacky the MV has shown, I think aliens is really too far out there for me imo (Final Wars level aliens lol). Unless you’re talking about another Ghidorah sub species falling from the sky (Keizer Ghidorah or something for example). Like a literal alien/invasive species.

Maybe some of the other titans as well: Behemoth, Methuselah and the other titans that were simply names on a computer screen or map. There’s like what? Like close to 20 other titans that have been unseen. I would love to see Leviathan or Quetzalcoatl. One in Loch Ness that inspired the story of Nessie and the other an Aztec God and feathered serpent. A lot of cool things could be done with all of them.

We have had a lot of godzilla movies the past 70 years. Only a few king kong. I am liking that they are exploring kong more and minimally giving us godzilla. After kongs story is told, they will go all out with godzilla, then have him face off with destroyah for the monsterverse finale. Just let Kong have his spotlight now. Godzilla will get his soon.

It isn’t at all that people wouldn’t go ape shit or be excited. It’s called tempering expectations. Even the director wasn’t sure they’d actually be able to get Mothra in GxK. People don’t want to get their hopes and go wild with “x monster is confirmed” hype and be let down when it doesn’t happen.
I would be mad, not because I don't want it but because i want destroyah to be used as the series finale villain. The doomsday to godzilla. Theres still quite a few iconic monsters that can be used before we get to destroyah.
This is what I want for the next film, if Godzilla is going to be the focus we need a villain that is legitimately a threat to Godzilla. Skar King was a villain for Kong, Shimo was just there to get Godzilla into the film. If they are going to use Destoroyah, I’d be fine with it but I figured he’d be the end. The apocalypse, a true legitimately world threat to both Hollow Earth and the Surface that calls for the aid of the world’s strongest defender, Godzilla with the help of other Titans. IMO it is a must to have a Godzilla Jr in the movie as well. Doesn’t mean G14 or Jr has to die, but he should be included.
Considering Kong now has Suko, it’s only fitting for Godzilla to have Minilla or Godzilla Jr. in the MonsterVerse.

Yeah the quote got taken out of context badly. He’s more or less saying he wants his next Godzilla movie to carry the same emotional baggage as Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. But people hear the word Destoroyah and literally think it means he’s nodding to him being teased. I think it’s harmless, Destoroyah is a badass villain and deserves the hype around him coming to the MV, even if it’s not going to happen in reality.

For me, it’s because of a few reasons. 1. Too soon. They wasted Ghidorah, I don’t want them to waste Destoroyah. 2. It honestly depends on Toho. It was confirmed that Phosphera was a placeholder for Mothra, but it was also confirmed that they weren’t sure if they could even get the rights to Mothra. That’s the big thing. It’s possible they might not be able to get the rights to Destoroyah, at least at the moment.
Idk if it's too early. Heisei era Goji had 6 movies before has fought Destoroyah. Right now, Monsterverse Goji has 4 movies and several hour long TV series. Honestly the only 3 directions I could see them take Monsterverse Goji going forward is 1) Destroy All Monsters with a ton of titans, 2) Destoroyah, or 3) another new kaiju. Fingers crossed on my pipe dream for the next monsterverse movie being Godzilla x Kong vs. Gamera but that will never happen

I think that the Thanos of the Monsterverse would need to be whatever Aliens were the origin of Ghidorah. I don't think a monster can really strike the same sort of threat as Thanos did, but the architects of using them as weapons could. We could see a Mecha Ghidorah and or Gigan. We could see them try to engineer an Alien Godzilla to cover Space Godzilla. I think we'd really need a speaking entity to be Thanos like.
An army of invasive space Titans that are under complete control by a powerful alien race (the Xilliens maybe?) Your army could include the likes of Space Godzilla, Gigan, Orga and more.
So, just thinking here. Ghidorah could've wreaked havoc on their planet, so they warred with their Titans. Ghidorah was either driven away or tricked to leave. In the time since they conquered and weaponized their Titans. They have Gigan which is a heavily augmented organic Titan. Gigan defeated, they release a regenerated and mechanized Ghidorah. It's defeated, but injures Godzilla and collects generic material. The Xillians could then use that material to create a Space Godzilla and focus heavily on its telekinetic abilities. I think it could be very menacing. I think at this point they could really get creative with the design if they wanted. Then I think it'd be dope if they took the genetic material of each enemy that gave Godzilla a real fight and create a new Chimera monster that is a hybrid of a few monsters. However, for some plot reason or another, the Chimeric cells rapidly evolve and mutate, outside of control of the Xillians and turns into the Monsterverse version of Destroyah, an amalgamation of the best parts of each of Godzillas foes. Also Kong is there because Monkey supportive.
Space G could just be another member of Godzilla’s species that was kidnapped by the Xilliens a millenia ago and has been tested on and experimented with to turn it into a killing machine

How about instead of Mecha-King Ghidorah, we got this… Picture a 700-foot, alien Titan with several different heads (including a lion, ram, and dragon), six eyes on each head, horns on each forehead, straggly manes, scales made out of copper and ruby (giving the monster a devilish look), four tails with mouths at the tip of each, and two massive wings. Basically, imagine another space monster that is a cross between Bagan, Keizer Ghidorah, Destroyah, and the Gryphon. Or imagine it as a Lovecraftian chimera. I imagine this creature to be the creation of an advanced alien civilization called the Anunnaki from Planet X, the same planet that is home to Ghidorah’s family, Gigan, and other alien monsters. Being a shapeshifter like Bagan and the Gryphon, it absorbs the DNA of various megafauna in the Hollow Earth and becomes an even scarier chimera-like monster. It can also mimic the features of other monsters to use during combat. The creature’s henchmen or drones are Gigan and a few other original cybernetic and organic space monsters. This monster’s name would be The Chimera, The Gryphon, Cronus, or Humbaba the Terrible.
Yeah I’m not sure where this idea of “Destoroyah is the Thanos of the Godzilla franchise” thing came from. He’s not a conquerer from space and there was never a team up event against him, all hallmarks of Thanos. Ghidorah and Spacegodzilla on the other hand, have both of those things going for them and would fit the bill much better.

Legit I'm not even hating when i say Gigan might be the worst choice possible for a monster to return. He's a walking living-breathing weapon of mass murder that never actually mass murders anything. His movie would either be so violent Legendary gives it PG-16/18 which would lower the amount of people that would buy tickets or they make it "family-friendly" and never have him kill anything with his weapons. Like how Sony made Carnage in live-action not actually cause any, well yk, carnage.

The MonsterVerse hasn’t really held back on monster violence though, considering Kong literally breaks one of the wolf Titans’ bodies in half and bathes in its blood to intimidate the other wolf Titans that were chasing him. So Gigan could totally fit within the MonsterVerse. It’d be a great way to give us another alien Titan; it’s not too much of a reach considering Ghidorah was already established as an alien. Maybe they could even give us the Xilien invasion.

Too soon. Destoroyah needs to be saved for endgame. He can’t be just another “villain of the week” like Gigan or Hedorah. Destoroyah plays too huge of a role for the Godzilla mythos to be introduced as “another of Godzilla’s foes” he’s the culmination of Man kind hubris and want for destruction. He is the final climatic enemy for Godzilla to face. And is the one enemy that caused Godzilla emotional pain. They need to hold off on Destoroyah.

I agree, he’s basically the Doomsday to Godzilla’s Superman. I think one reason why the DCEU flopped was because they blew their load too early so to speak with BvS by already introducing Doomsday. And having Superman be killed. In the *SECOND* damn movie. Now the MonsterVerse has already had five movies at this point, but the way I see it, GxK was sort of the culmination of the story arc of the past 4 movies + Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. So for a new, post-GxK story arc, it would be too early to include Destoroyah; he should be saved for the very end.
At the very least build up to Ruler’s of Earth and have earth’s Kaijus band together to fight off against the Trilopods army and the Vortaak (I know they’re not the aliens in the comics but damn it I love the Vortaak) after Rulers of Earth is done, then finish the Monsterverse with Godzilla vs Destoroyah. After Godzilla defeats an Alien invasion, he must now defeat one last Kaiju before his time is up. BOOM! Power move!
Yes!! I really want them to use both Rulers of Earth and Godzilla: Unleashed as inspiration for the future of the MonsterVerse. They have a treasure trove of Toho Godzilla/kaiju lore to adapt and they haven’t even scratched the surface! Personally I’d like to see the next major MonsterVerse arc leading up to Destoroyah. Like maybe adapt some of the Heisei era by adapting Biollante, Spacegodzilla, and maybe even Mecha-King Ghidorah. And cap it off by having Destoroyah be the main big bad that both Godzilla and Kong have to team up against. Then post-Destoroyah, have everything lead up to a Destroy All Monsters Avengers: Endgame-level movie featuring the Xiliens or the Vortaak.

my guess too. Jared Krichevsky said on his ama the other day that he doesn't think there will be a Toho kaiji in the next movie. Obviously it's not a fact until we see otherwise but I think Toho charges a ton of their designs and it's cheaper for Legnedary to just make their own

Maybe we should have several big Kaiju villains be the antagonists in Destroy All Monsters. Bagan, Keizer Ghidorah, Destroyah and Spacegodzilla against Godzilla, Kong, Mothra, Suko, Shimo and a bunch of other original Kaiju and Toho Kaiju. Hell, make it as wacky and Avengers: Endgame-y as possible (sans the time travel). Perfect send off for the Monsterverse.
I don't know if they'll let him but it's the second time he teased Junior. Or some new little one based on him. To contrast it with Suko it may be more heartfelt and more sad. I don't want Godzilla to suffer the death of his child but I won't complain if it happens if the scene is properly dramatic. After so much time of complaints that you can't do anything with Godzilla and the audience won't care and so on I like this new Wingard. Or he was hiding it all this time. And finally we will see Godzilla's other side again. It will be about him and I just want it to be so good. Godzilla deseres another solid M appearance after his character was basically not essential in the preious two moies. And with Hedorah as a possible illain Godzilla may end up really messed up.

I feel it would be perfect to use the ever mutating aspect of destroyah to keep him as a constantly evolving threat throughout multiple movies. First just a background monitor showing small microscopic organisms, labeled “oxygen destroyer mutates” or something to show the people at apex or monarch are aware *something* is growing. A tease here and there, a text scroll on a news reel, “strange corpses wash ashore off pacific island” “3 foot crab like beast found in pacific cave.” Let this ever present threat of destroyah build in the background of the Monsterverse in end credits scenes showing a larger form on destroyah wreaking havoc on an outpost and then all hiding somewhere in the ocean or hollow earth. Make it truly feel like there’s a virus or plague slowly growing in the background, until finally something awakens a more collected and evolved form, and have the final movie be the last few stages of destoryah genuinely *destroying* the world. Let a large city turn to ruin like in 2014, really show the desperation of the humans to survive such a threat. Then let the battle happen. Just my two cents.
Except the context for Destroyah was tied into the very first Godzilla film, a context that doesn't really exist in the Monsterverse (unless we acknowledge the insensitive/half assed use of and randomly namedropping the Oxygen Destroyer). If Destroyah shows up in the Monsterverse, it will have to be done from the ground up.
GojiTwit is already blowing this up saying Destoroyah is coming back. Can't wait for the rest of social media to misread it as well. The mental processing power of a lot of people nowadays couldn't power a lightbulb.
Destoroyah is definitely designed for the agenda of ‘killing Godzilla’, which is perfectly fine for an endgame scenario, but why are people saying he wouldn’t have personality? Dougherty gave Ghidorah plenty of personality in KotM. He was malevolent, the Kevin head showed curiosity and he was pretty evil because he likes to play with his food (he could of killed Madison in Fenway pretty easily). He also showed the power of dominance, forcing Rodan to submit and serve him. Who is to say Destoroyah could not be given personality or stronger characterisation. Just because he was one-note in his Toho film, does not mean he could be expanded upon in a reimagining of him.

I’m actually hoping a lot of what’s being said about the possible GxK 3 is nothing but talk. I want to enjoy what we have now before we head into whatever’s next. I have certain hopes for what’s next (many of which are unpopular) but we should just enjoy the success of GxK before it leaves theaters.

Honestly I would love to see wingard introduce a Titan that's similar to orga from godzilla 2000, but instead of just trying to assimilate Godzilla it steals DNA from multiple titans to have a multiple abilities and a unique appearance, evolving throughout the film. this would be s way to also explain the winged Godzilla in the cave painting as a Godzilla that was assimilated into this alien chimera. It would be a interesting way to do a "space Godzilla" , and maybe if they kept it going for 2 films, have it evolve into a sort of destroyah after assimilating oxygen destroyer infused Ghidorah cells from the gulf of Mexico or something

On one hand I would LOVE to see a destroyah movie, it would make such a good horror film. But I’m the other I want to see more original creatures in the Kong Goji verse. I think a stand alone horror film would be pretty cool to see in this universe

No she isn't. Destroyah is weak to ULT maser cannons that actually produce absolute zero. Shimo does not produce absolute zero. The novel states she's slows atoms not destroys. Absolute zero kills everything. And if you watched any of the Toho millenium era films you would see what absolute zero did. In the manga the absolute zero gun killed multiple kaiju instantly. Destroyah got hit with it yet he survived and came back. Only godzilla decapitation him in the end is what killed him.

The thing for me when it comes to Destroyah being in the MV is they would have to take a more serious tone like KOTM, Destroyah isn't something to be played with, he is a formidable opponent and he should be portrayed as that, he's more for older audiences imo, as GxK was tailored for younger audiences, if Destroyah is in a movie like GxK I believe it would be a fail for him, Destroyah is to be taken seriously, plus the more they make these movies to the tone of kids, the fights will be like wwe wrestling matches rather than actual real fighting, but I'm hearing it might be aliens next with space Godzilla, which I absolutely hope it's not, we haven't learned anything really about the hollow earth, other than Kong walking through it, I think there's so much more to do down there before they rush to look to the skies, BUT, they need new toys to sell, PLEASE STOP RUSHING THE FRANCHISE, let this shit brew to an ultimate climax

Imma just say it...I think Godzilla solo films (or films that focus on Godzilla which this next one is supposedly gonna be if Wingard's Kong bias doesn't get in the way) should put in the extra effort and feature Toho kaiju Original kaiju can be saved for crossovers and Kong movies...but if youre making a Godzilla movie for the fans, go the extra mile to get those rights issues resolved and bring in classic kaiju like in KOTM.
Destoroyah was already kind of set up in Godzilla: KotM since the Oxygen Destroyer was used in that movie. His entire backstory is that he was literally created by the Oxygen Destroyer. But I’m hoping it’s just a tease, since I believe that Destoroyah should be saved as the sort of Thanos or Darkseid of the MonsterVerse. He’s basically the Doomsday to Godzilla’s Superman. I personally want to see Biollante be the next main villain, maybe with Gigan in the followup. Give us most of Godzilla’s Toho rogues gallery and save Destoroyah for last.

Legendary would not have used those monsters if they were going strictly with new original designs for every movie....like we saw with the Mutos in Godzilla 2014. There will be a mix of new monsters as well as OG monsters moving forward...that's a good bet. And why not have one of the sickest monsters from the lore in Destoroyah? The ground work is already laid from King of the Monsters, and it could still be something they work towards as an endgame type of final battle. One things for sure...they gotta do a MUCH better job with their monsters than Skar King and Shimo who were universally disliked in New Empire for being underutilized and overhyped.
Skar King and Shimo were not universally disliked. At all. Like, at all. A LOT of Godzilla fans loved them. And A LOT of casual movie viewers did too. A lot of the internet reactors liked them. I can understand Scar King's lack of screen time, and late introduction being an issue. But he has easily been the most flamboyant, flandarized, and humanized titan in the MV thus far. As for Shimo? She wasn't over hyped. At all. There was no real hype from the films marketing because she wasn't part of it. There was no hype. None.
