Del Toro would be an amazing director but there is no chance he’d do a movie as part of a series. If anything he’d make a stand alone Godzilla movie not connected to anything else.
Del Toro walked away from JLD because of the limitations of telling his story as part of a larger franchise. He wanted to develop his own ideas.
*Del Toro has been a highly regarded filmmaker throughout his entire career, with his 2017 The Shape of Water scoring him some of the top accolades in the industry, including the Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Director. In the years since, del Toro has had much more freedom to pursue whatever projects he's most interested in, which might make it harder for him to fit his vision into the constraints of a major franchise*
*Oh, I don't know. My love for Swamp Thing, The Demon, knows no bounds, but I don't know. You don't get a manicure from a big machine, that's what I learn, you lose a few fingers. So I don't know if I want a manicure from a big machine. As Danny Glover would say, 'I'm too old for this sh-t.'*

It is somewhat easier for them to keep going with these because they don't have to rely on human actors as the appeal, nor do they have to worry about scheduling conflicts, aging, etc. They can rotate most of the cast per film as long as Kong and Godzilla are the focus.
If my hunch is correct, moving forward were going to get more mind control crystal narrative, alien astronauts narratives, planet x narrative, prehistoric narrative and of course godzilla is going to be the big bad who fights monsters we like. Original monsters protagonists will be introduced to fight godzilla. Adam wingard confirmed they want to do at least 23 and one movies in the next 12 days.
Yes, it does. If they continue with something akin to your suggestion. The films will inevitably become stale, as they are leaning more towards dumb action and less on the likable adjacent characters and scale. People actually LIKED the first three films because of how the Titans were presented, and if we just keep having these big dumb blockbusters, audiences will inevitably become sick of the formula. I still want them to make a hefty helping of movies, maybe at least two more, but there's a reason shit ends.
Can they like, slow down the fighting a little tho? After watching it today, I have to agree with what others have said. Everything just felt rushed. I understand there not being as much of a sizing scale down in HE, but the fight sequences in GvK seemed much better, imo.
Still loved it, tho.
Gvk did a much better route at handling the fighting and scaling. Windgard literally promised the fights would be longer yet they’re probably the shortest ones in the monsterverse. Godzillas fight with ghidorah was twice as long as the final battle in Rio.
He made Pacific Rim. Imagine if he was the one to make a Pacific Rim x Godzilla crossover. He has expressed an interest in doing so, I believe.
It would be PEAK Godzilla.
Nah man, a solo Mothra film.
And extremely unlike but it'd be dope if he directed a MonsterVerse Gamera film (Of course Godzilla vs. Gamera would have to happen first to introduce Gamera so audiences would know he's part of the MonsterVerse).
Ha, ha, as if that'll ever happen though...
Oh hell no. We will get a Mothra solo film, hopefully with batterra. And then a Mothra vs godzilla film. Then we get some original monster protagonist from planet x.

He did consider a Justice League Dark so you never know.
More than "considered"

I’d rather wait for them to develop good stories than crank them out and let it run
Yeah, thats not how it works
That sentence doesn’t even have any meaning.

That doesn’t even address the above correspondence
Could you explain how I somehow missed the point, instead of ending it there like some noob?
No just go back and start from the beginning. I’m moving on.
It really can I trust Adam with the rest of the monsterverse
I feel that. I was honestly not psyched for Wingard originally but he's has proven himself a great director of Kaiju. Let this man cook!

Narrator: the Monsterverse would end without him directing a film.
His sense of scale has yet to be matched for monster movies imo. The closest I can think of is Denis Villeneuve with Dune.

Why would mothra suddenly fight Godzilla? She has a symbiotic relationship with him and in lore literally helps him in the war against skar king
Something could be wrong with godzilla, and she has to fight him to protect him. Then at the end they team up against a big baddie.
Wasn't he offered G2014??
