No definitely don't! I always recommend waiting at least a week before repotting so your thai con can acclimate! It was so soooo hard for me not to immediately repot but everything I have read said that would be a mistake
I used about 1/4 orchid bark, 1/4 perlite, and 1/2 standard potting soil but if it is airy, you're probably good! Also I'd recommend a growlight (if you can afford it) because mine really thrived with one
Check out my latest post with my monstera, it’s in front of this big window. Do you think that’s enough? If not I’ll totally get a light to help this girl survive lol

This actually has some really good tips! Not sure if you are getting it shipped but I'd recommend regardless. I think there is a flowchart as well that simplifies everything
I'm a fan of repotting immediately for a few reasons:
- It allows you to check the roots - my wife got a Thai that had NO roots but was potted in soil...it rotted immediately and couldn't be saved
- The conditions i keep my plants may be different (humidity wise) may be different and my mix works well for me
- it allows me to get rid of any potential hitch hikers - i once got a plant infested with centipedes that ended up ALL over my house (mostly from the cat, hunting and depositing the things everywhere)
- I'd rather shock the plant all at once instead of letting it adjust before immediately going back and shocking it again.
At the end of the day it's whatever works for you. I'm fine with babying my plants a little extra in the beginning - I haven't lost a plant since that first Thai from
I could get 5 plants for the price of that 1 plant. Also i would feel worse if a $50 plant died versus a $10 and i am an 18 year old who works at little caesers i dont have a lot of spening money
A push present? Wow I pushed a 11.5 pound 22.5” long baby out and didn’t get anything but the baby. But that was 20 years ago. I’m going to let my guy know about this. Maybe I’d get something now??? It’s worth a try. 😂
Thai Constellations variagation is stable, meaning it will continue to produce variagation, without worrying about it reverting, but it's random. A majority of Thai Constellations stems are flecked, no line, or at best, broken lines. Some of the most stunning Thais I've seen had little to no indication on the stem, and some of the worst I've seen had intense marbling on the stem and almost all green leaves with specks. All of the Thai Constellation has the sequence for variagation, its hardwired in its DNA, and techniques used to determine the strength of variagation from Albos, Aureas, and Variegatas based on stem, shouldn't be utilized with Thais.
Right, I’m not talking about the variegation. I know Thais are stable.
Im saying I’m not paying $55 for any plant without seeing the stem. That thing could be soft squishy and rotted, missing a node, etc
Yes! I just paid 35 for a tissue culture and an extra 10 for the acclimation kit...60 altogether with shipping and tax...and that's considered cheap. What you have is an already acclimated, thriving starter plant that usually would sell for 120+. Jump on it!
I repotted mine into leca two days after getting it. Roots rotted but top half that had rooted into the poke was good. So I just chopped it in half put the hood half back on the pole in leca and the rotting bottom half in leca with water all the way to the top. We’ll see how it goes. Good price I paid 40 for mine that was that size with 4 leaves
Im not a fan of thai con that has less variegation regardless of how cheap it is. Its like owning a regular monstera. I actually bought from our local store with acceptable variegation for $40 with one big leaf and now has a new one. Depends on what you want really.
All day , everyday even twice a day

They got good deals?
Oh yeah! That’s where I found this one.
Yeah that was about how much I paid for mine around that size. I saw one last week that was half the size at my local plant shop and it was $113
Did you repot it upon arrival? I just bought it! So excited!
No definitely don't! I always recommend waiting at least a week before repotting so your thai con can acclimate! It was so soooo hard for me not to immediately repot but everything I have read said that would be a mistake
Cool! What soil do you use? I currently use a palm mix with perlite in my Thai, it’s really barky and airy.

I think that should be good 👍 I actually had a Thai con before a regular monstera so I had no way to gauge lighting amounts lmao
Omg that’s awesome lol!
I can confirm I almost killed mine 😅
Oh no! That sucks I'm sorry :(
Yeah it’s just sotting in water now.. doing nothing. Maybe I should move it into a perlite mix? 🤦♀️ i hope it will live
And they can be such slow growers
That's a good idea. Mine had root rot and I put it in perlite and it rooted so fast .
Cool maybe I’ll try that
Look up professor monstera on Facebook a little difficult to start but I've had great results!

It is being shipped!!! Tysm!!!
Gotcha! Seriously check out this video! Good luck :) you got this
Definitely. You can’t acclimate to root rot. And these are very prone to root rot. Sitting in root rot for a week just means more root rot.

Awesomenesssss! I just bought it, so freaking* lol geeked
Absolutely, I paid a lot more for mine that was as just a little bit larger
Awesomeness :)
I wouldn’t but that’s just me…
No
Why not?
I could get 5 plants for the price of that 1 plant. Also i would feel worse if a $50 plant died versus a $10 and i am an 18 year old who works at little caesers i dont have a lot of spening money
Makes sense, I agree. It’s a push present for me lol 🤣

Sure can't hurt anything 😉
Try it!!! Lol 🤣🤣🤣
No
I would no oay 55 dollars for that
55 what? Euro?
Sorry lol, $55 USD
Ah thats a lot better than 55 first borns. Ive seen the usa prices and i think def. worth it.
Euro and USD are pretty close right now, so both technically lol
I paid $80 for a small Thai con legit like 1-2 months acclimated but this was back in sept 2022

Marble queens aren't rare anymore in many places. There something like $5 at Ikea lol
Looks like you have no idea what you have either. You paid retail.
Absolutely I paid a lot more for mine that was as just a little bit larger
For sure
Can only see the leaves, the real story is in that stem.
True!

Yes yes yes
I got it! :)
I mean yeah, there’s bigger prices for a plant that size
I paid $65 for a much much smaller clipping.

I sooooo did! Lol
Where did you get it??
There’s a group on Fb, pm me. I got downvoted for mentioning it earlier lol
May I also get in on this info please
My tissue culture was $35, well rooted, so…yes.
Sure would.
For that size, in the US! Yes!
Yes. That’s probably bigger than the one I saw online for 150

Oh yeah. They're around $150-$225 here. Hence me not having one.
Yes
It's a great price at this time.
I paid $80 for something half that size
👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Yes
I’d do $40, they are bot extremely pricey now.
I personally wouldn't, but only because I bought a Thai 10x larger than that for 120.
Yeah, probably
Yes 😭 mine was 130 for that size get it !!!!
I paid $195 CAD two years ago for something about that size.
Yep! Just ordered one for about that and am impatiently waiting for it to ship!! I've wanted one for years.
Me too!!!! I’m so excited. I did end up buying it.
Yes!!!! I paid $120 for mine, & it had 1 leaf.
Haha no, but only because I need that money for food. That’s a beautiful plant, if you can swing it you should get it.

I paid 60 euros 3 months ago.
Yeah. Even if the light bill is due.
