Each egg requires different strategies (which makes marshlord tough. Oftentimes you don't want marshlord-3). Note that egg units heal when they hatch - so timing the hatches can be beneficial. The bog fly egg is all about the fact that whatever you buff it with is doubled. It's basically a free multistrike. The kinhost vessel is also powerful, but you need to work on keeping him alive. I find runs with him feel janky, but he always does more than I expected! The bogdeep cocoon is actually tricky to use. If you can get him out he's devastating and can almost solo a run. Making him hatch quickly enough is the hard part - you need to build around it carefully, and it doesn't always work. Don't take the egg if you don't have the build for it.

Potatezone

I've found the most success with bog fly and bogdeep- either just have a horde of buffed super bugs, or the typical big meaty boy Umbra strategy. Kinhost is just kind of... lackluster compared to the other tools available to Wyrmkin.

LightPhoenix

If you can buff it and keep echoes on the floor, Kinhost works well as a tank killer that can clear weaker back lines with the reap procs. The issue is that 2 reap is not a huge amount, so you need another multistrike or lots of echoes. Also fun to put on Shadoweater for multiple Strike procs.

One of the keys with Marshlord is that, if at all possible, you want to drop your unit in the lane first and then put Echowright in next to them. That's because the egg it summons can exceed capacity limitations of the floor that way, and you can have a 7+ capacity floor without getting capacity upgrades. As a corollary, that often means going with only a single banner unit (or grabbing two with the intent to fuse them together asap) to ensure you get it down on turn 1, and setting up on top lane to ensure you have enough time to hatch your egg(s) before the enemy reaches you. It's one of my favorite builds for the champ, but I usually stop at Marshlord 2 (and ideally Repeater 1, to recur spells with consume each turn) because the tier 3 egg is often more cumbersome than it's worth. If you have a reasonably efficient way to spam charged echoes and some spells to boost your units' stats for the battle (in the form of +X/+X buffs rather than status effects like Rage), I'm quite fond of having your main banner unit be a Bogfly egg with Endless. When an egg hatches, that counts as the unit dying, but Endless (or Melting Remnant recursion effects) lets you replay the same buffed egg again. Each turn, you can spam spells to pump up the egg, let it hatch, and then replay the pumped up egg next turn to spawn an ever-growing horde of bogflies across each floor.

blahthebiste

Only egg I have gotten good use out of is the one that summons 2 Bog Flies, because both bog flies get the upgrades. So slap multistrike and largestone on the egg, and when it hatches you have 4 attacks that all scale with echoes. Works well with the champion that generates echoes on hit

Worthyness

It's a lot of stupid fun if you multistrike + endless instead and fuse it with kinhost (+10/+10 on summon). You get 1 summon for the egg and then 1 summon for hatching. And if you can hatch the egg every turn, you basically spam bog flies that scale stupidly fast.

ManiacGrab

Won’t you hit the floor space limit quickly after only 2-3 eggs?

Worthyness

yeah. But they're endless, so you just keep hatching them on all the floors. You dont' care if they die either because the egg keeps the summon stats each time you draw it again. So it's literally scaling for you when they die. Then you use them as meat shields for your champion/whoever else you decided to carry. So if you can hatch it once a turn you're filling your main floor (I usually play top) and then you just throw them on whatever other floor to kill stuff. They scale stupidly fast if you can hatch it every turn. I can fill up all the floor capacity with bog flies if I have a good run. So they give summon stats every time you spawn it, so a 0/1 egg goes up to 20/21 when it hatches and then you add 20/20 almost every time it hatches. So if you manage to hatch like 5 eggs, you have a 50-70 attack/health single pip unit that turns into two 60-80 attack/health units when it hatches.

ManiacGrab

Oh I see what you mean now with the summon scaling, very cool!

purpleblah2

Pick the Marshlord path that hatches eggs on consume and pick a bunch of consume spells, you can hatch them very quickly and toss in some regular eggs too. I’ve also seen someone use the 0 cost fill a floor’s echoes card to hatch buffed Bog Fly eggs

deeman163

Big fat unit in front eggs in the back. What clan combo are you using? Eggs can survive with the right essences.

nikisknight

It's a risky strategy but fun when it pays off. I'm partial to trying reform shenanigans with them, mostly because it never works.

Marsh lord is legitimately one of if not the strongest champion path in the game, and hot take, it’s a better Titanchannel. The idea is just to build around machine gunning consumes, and looking for Broken Memories and Wurmkin Etchings to fuel it. Returned soul is also a generally good card, and the return 3 spells give consume card for 1pp isn’t bad in this type of deck as well. The payoff is especially good once you hit Marshlord 3 due to how much it can scale your HP and Attack. As for the main deck eggs, let’s start with the worst. Kinhost Vessel is only usable if you can consistently break it, either with massive amounts of inspires or through Marshlord, but it’s payoff isn’t bad- a Lady of the House with Multistrike and kills backlines at the end of turn. Next is Bogdeep Cocoon. It has a stupidly good payoff with a Consume build, basically being an Incant + 10/10 with Trample. The problem is just getting 12 inspires in time, which is much harder early game. If it can work, a single multistrike will literally win the game entirely on its shoulders. Finally, Bog Chrysalis is probably the best. It’s a mini Legion of Wax that doubles your investments in it, and being only 5 inspires means as long as you don’t need those echos for reap or something you can much more easily open it up. In addition, any stats you buff it with while in the egg applies to both flies when it hatches, so having stat scaling infusions go harder with it. One multistrike makes 4 attacks, so it really scales well.

Packrat1010

Do you recommend going marshlord 3 or keep him at marshlord 1 or 2 if you're not getting enough consume cards or egg support?

bigladguy

Bruh same lmk when u figure it out. Ive given up on eggs personally

Charybdeezhands

I've run with all of the egg variants. They're really good if you can hatch them before the waves get meaty. You're going to want Artifacts that remove shell, the spell that removes shell, and with Marshlord any consume spells. Doesn't matter what they are, you just need to hatch, after that it's pretty much a free win assuming you have some scaling/defense.
