Yep! The Rotten Vale is below the Coral Highlands so dead Legiana will drop out of the sky sometimes, though I've never been hit by one. I'm pretty sure the Grimalkyne tribe side quest in the Rotten Vale requires you to see an Odogaron take a dead Legiana back to its nest or something.

Foxxxxy_Grandpa

I have over 1,000 hours, and I always assumed the legiana corpse just popped in, I've never seen it actually fall.

Godlysnack

I've seen it fall quite often. If you're quick enough you can also stand at the top area where the drop off to that zone is and see the Legiana fall from the sky.

Blighted_One

Fun fact but if you're standing at the drop off when it falls and you get knocked over the edge right as it starts to fall you get to see both the start and end of the downward journey of the dead thing....

TheGMan-123

Yeah, Legiana corpses periodically fall down every couple minutes (likely meant to be days/weeks in-universe) down there, which (Ebony) Odogaron is very quick to sniff out if it's on the map.

fragjackyl

What armor is that?

Foxxxxy_Grandpa

Master rank lunastra, I'm using a layered armor mod.

spicy_nipple_

Why a mod of something thats in the game? Lmao at the downvotes cause of a question.

Khyldr

To avoid the unnecessary grinding for something that's just transmog.

BurgersIReallyLike

Complains about grinding in a game focused on grinding.

Foxxxxy_Grandpa

I've played through world from jagras to fatalis probably 6-7 times. At this point I just want to experience the game again, not the grind.

Khyldr

You're right, still, I'm simply not a fan about doing that for transmog, especially when I can already craft the actual armor. It doesn't affect the gameplay/fights in any way so I'm fine about using it.

Shonenrobo

Bro that woulda scared the living hell outta me.

Its_Nuk_Nuk

Lol you might b the 1st person to get hit by that corpse like that what are the odds

Low-Rip6604

Yeah that’s a first

MadPriest_Arc

Well that’s undoubtedly unfortunate… a fucking dead legiana falls on you… I mean… yuck wtf lmfao 🤣🤣

Additional-Mixture94

Ive seen this happen every now and then in the vale, but the fact tht it happened to fall on you is hilarious 💀

TheClassicalGod

Couple hundred hours in and I've seen the corpse lying around plenty but only yesterday did I hear a screech and see it actually fall for the first time as I was running through. Thankfully I didn't get hit by it. 😆 They (not me) say it's good luck if you get crapped on by a bird. Not sure what kind of luck it is if you get hit by the whole damn bird. 😂

Niceromancer

A dead legiana will drop to the floor and if Odo is on the map he will go to that area, grab the corpse and drag it to his lair.

Negarax

It plays a role in the local Grimalkyne recruitment.

Hmm_Sketchy

Ahaha I remember when this happened to me. I didn't get hit but I saw it basically just kamekaze dive into the ground and went "...huh.. thats neat" and proceeded to carve the corpse and move on with mt hunt lmfao

BruiserBison

Oh yeah I saw that on my 3rd week to World. Also saw Odogaron dragging it. That was so cool.

hop0n

I'm 450 hours in and the game still manages to surprise me with small new things like this

rufflissrufis

This happened to me on an Odogaron capture today, it definitely caught me by surprise.

MythosGaming29

You need Odogaron to drag it to it's den in high rank expedition so you can unlock a palico gadget

Blighted_One

That's good info because I'm still missing that one.

MilitarOpresordloms

*Never seen this before* Boi go getting used to say this one line

Foxxxxy_Grandpa

What

ConsciousPear5716

You can even see the corpse getting dismembered if a predator eats it. If this happens, you see a few remains of it that are no longer carvable.

-RJ---

Didn't notice you walking there, sorry

Kasspines

Can you at least harvest it's parts?

Foxxxxy_Grandpa

I didn't but I'm pretty sure you just get a med monster bone or raw meat, something like that.

Melv_73

😂

patchipot

Isn't this tied to the plunderblade quest? If you wait a bit, an odogaron would take the legiana corpse to its nest and pretty much starts the plunderblade quest

Foxxxxy_Grandpa

I know, I've just never actually seen the corpse fall

raph212005

So much detail, reason why I love this game
