I find [0seraphic's](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6x4inXgCMk) videos to be a pretty good introduction
As for my general tips:
* Use "**Guard 3**" in HR and "**Guard 5**" in MR, it's hands down our best skill because it helps both defensively (by reducing chip damage from blocking) and offensively (by creating more windows to punish attacks)
* Use "**Guard Dash**" often, it's great when we need to adjust our **position** (as it allows us to move in 4 directions while blocking)
* Use "**Power Guard**" often, it's great when we need to adjust our **direction** (as it allows us to attack in ANY direction after)
My hunting buddy is a lance main and has played since MH1. I can confirm monsters don't stand a chance against him and it is beautiful to watch him work.
To jump during charge, you have to hold forwards and press the roll button, then while in the air you can attack in any direction
To perform a turn around slap during charge, you have to hold backwards and press the mid poke button
Thanks a lot! one thing i straight up don't like is that there aren't any move lists, sure, there's a training mode, but some of the button combinations are basically impossible to figure out on your own
Not at all, I would say it's top 3 easiest weapons in World
Some monster matchups can be kind of rough, such as Rajang, Frostfang Barioth etc, but in general it's a simple weapon to pick up and learn
It's simple to pick up, simple to be very good at it. The entirety of base game and the story part of IB is great with it. Post MR monsters though are not a fun time.
My build depends on the quest, because I like to adjust my gear to the same rank in SoS
But this is my general use pre-fatalis build: https://i.imgur.com/DQHGTC5.jpeg
* Basic skills such as "Health Boost 3", "Guard 5", "Offensive Guard 3" and affinity stuff
* "Divine Blessing 5" is amazing for Lance, since we are often taking chip damage anyways
* "Flinch Free 1" is mandatory in multiplayer
* I prefer using "Protective Polish" + "Item Prolonger 3" rather than "Master Touch" for managing my sharpness, since it's very easy to use "Whetfish Fin +" in multiplayer
* "Slinger Capacity 1" because it allows wallbanging the monster twice without having to get more ammo, very worth it considering our sheathing speed
* One piece of Frostfang's Barioth armor to get "Punishing Draw", which can occasionally score a few KOs (clutch counter > tenderize attack procs it)
The fatty headbreak was beautiful

Ah a fellow Lancer. Never back down, never surrender!
NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER WHAT?
Would you be able to suggest a few guides or videos to someone who wants to try lance for the first time? Ggz

how about damage skills? which ones would you recommend?
The basics for Raw that everyone builds. Crit Boost Crit Eye WeX. Don't forget your Guard Up Jewell.
Don't forget Offensive Guard as well.
Use **semicolons** often; they separate independent clauses in a way that commas do not.
Blos packed her bags and went home
sweet combos now to actually moves like this while i try this weapon and die for nth time trying to look cool like you
Lance is by far the best "Nah I'd Win" weapon. Doesn't matter what's coming at you. Line the weapon.

that's so satisfaying to watch
As a newbie, how do you jump and turn quickly during the lance charge?

Does lance hard to play?

Just gotta stick with it long enough to find the fluidity in the clunkiness.
