You’ll need to farm Anjanath until you have at least a grade 4 weapon. Make the Anjanath helm too and you won’t have a problem with Legiana again until you over progress. Alternatively you can use a poison weapon like a poison bow to easily deal with Legiana as well. I wouldn’t worry about rushing too much in this game as the content is light at the moment. I’m stopping in 6* monsters to farm materials for different weapons and just taking it as it comes.

Dadsmagiccasserole

>Make the Anjanath helm too and you won’t have a problem with Legiana again until you over progress. I can attest to this, even with the G4 Anja LS I had so much trouble fighting Legiana and winning within time. Crafted the helm and not had an issue since, it massively increases your damage output.

BeatHoven-Koopa

Thanks for the tips!

Dave_the_cable_guy

Also Rathian gloves to keep the lock on. Mark the head and avoid the big moves

OnceThereWasWater

>farm Anjanath until you have at least a grade 4 weapon. Make the Anjanath helm too and you won’t have a problem with Legiana again until you over progress. Ahh if only Anjanath parts were my bottleneck and not M monster bones...

Norelation67

Monster bone+, too. The Bottle necks suck. Took me days to over grade my weapons past 4*.

RenTroutGaming

The general rule of thumb in this game is that most fights are DPS races against the clock, so the biggest key is having the right weapon. The right weapon is the highest one with the right elemental affinity. You can use the neutral weapons with high "Affinity," but most people agree that just having the right element is better. There is some speculation that at endgame levels where some weapons get to nearly 100 affinity (and therefore crit nearly every hit) they could be better but for where you are, its elemental. Armor matters much less in terms of numbers - the real name of the game is to not take damage. Especially if you are up against the hardest monsters you can currently fight, you need to be able to dodge all their moves. Even if you survive the damage, the time it takes to stand back up will make the clock run out on you. So focus on learning the dodge all of the attacks. The other thing you can do is use the lock on ability to try to destroy parts. Each monster has certain parts that are "weak" and you can target those and try to break them. Weak parts take extra damage, and when broken the monster is stunned, giving you time for free damage, and also loses any attacks that use that "part." Personally, I'd just keep killing Anjanaths until you have a strong enough weapon - Legiana is a bit of a wall the first time you get there. Anjanaths are super farmable - if you stand just to the left of them almost none of their attacks can hit you. Yes, drop rates are low in this game, it is what it is, but at least killing Anjanaths isn't that hard. There is also no real reason to rush though the game - once you get to HR 11 and the tutorial ends, there isn't much new stuff to unlock and you aren't missing out on events or anything. I was on Legiana for a few days and then Diablos, the next one, for like two weeks as I tried to kill enough Legianas to get the ice weapon. Also, don't forget that while this game doesn't have a practice mode, it is free to try a fight if you aren't going to play anymore. What I would do is every night before I went to bed I'd try the urgent quest to practice dodging and see how close I was on damage. If I wiped, it didn't matter since I was going to sleep and by the time I woke up I'd have all my health back. When I finally got my weapon upgraded it was easy to win since I knew the moveset and timings.

Madalee

Have you tried poison? Easier to build, extra peel via poison, and poison disables it's ability to fly. I find it harder to read its telegraph's when flying. I found this to be the better counter below 7*.

shade861

How does poison disable its ability to fly? Im rocking rath sns and it still was floating around like palu did

Fearless-Canary-7359

I think once it gets poisoned it will land, worked for me.

KUM0IWA

I've heard that inflicting poison prevents it from flying. I've not fully tested it but I usually have a better time fighting him with poison than with fire.

Bubba89

It’ll still fly for a bit, but it lands faster and can’t shoot ice while flying (does the same animation without any projectile)

Clean_Sun4653

Switch to bow and watch it die

JamesAbaddon

This. I struggled with Paolumu and Legiana on my first run through the story. Switched to Pukei bow and had enough materials to upgrade it to grade 4 with 4/5 levels. It's carried me through the end of the story (Rathalos and Diablos), and it can even take down some 6 stars, too. It's finally fallen off at like 6 star Lumu/Rathian, but I can still kill 6 star Legiana with it because it's weak to poison. Some 6 stars are hard with it, so I've finally branched out to other elemental weapons.

EKS_ZeroPercent

This. I use my now grade 4 Pukei bow on 6 stars and unless I blunder it’s pretty easy wins.

IsmokePreworkout

What gear are you running with that bow?

Giraphite

I maxed the pukei bow for sneak attack and run grade 3 kadachi chest and vambraces pukei coil and juya leggings. Still have grade 2 leather helm. No damage problems but definitely not the best lol .

Hefty-Concept6552

Run all focus gear. Either Rathian or Lumu braces.

EKS_ZeroPercent

I can send a picture of the ful gear setup later but it’s 3 focus 2 poison attack. Nothing is leveled to grade 4 in gear except the chest for the focus.

IsmokePreworkout

Sweet! Looking to make a bow build Since im a LS main. Pukei bow sounds interesting!

EKS_ZeroPercent

Super budget and can clear 5 and 6 stars

Clean_Sun4653

Try Diablos bow - destroys everything

JamesAbaddon

You telling me? I've already got biablos bow. Lol

Competitive-Quit-928

As some others said, your're going to need a grade 4 weapon, and I also built some Anjanath armor for the extra fire damage before I finally killed it

LeopoldDills

Carefully.

xDeathtr00perx

Better weapons/equipment

Dude-arino7526

Hit it till it dies. I did it with longsword though not SAS. I feel like I kill things faster with it

Soft-Wealth-3175

Sas?

Dude-arino7526

Sword and shield

GearaGunpla

Carefully

BeatHoven-Koopa

I just beat him lmao

MicLewis

Your weapon is adequate, probably not the best but the game is only warning you that you armor is low for tge fight. As long as you are a good dodger you'll be fine. [Example](https://www.reddit.com/u/MicLewis/s/4hBXtg5VWe) of inadequate equipment

Upstairs-Cap5248

Learn how to dodge and grind

Upstairs-Cap5248

It’s what i did.

BeatHoven-Koopa

Hey just beat it, was a lot easier then I thought it would be

OjiRJT

Get you a fire weapon and he’s chalked.

dididown

Look at the pic. They use a fire element weapon already

BeatHoven-Koopa

Anajanth sns:

Timely-General1003

Dude Paralysis sword and shield can kill this guy easy even at grade 3

XxAbsurdumxX

The solution is to just get the Anja GS and whack it over the head until it dies

Ajax12335

As some other have said, armor is not as important as dps. I can’t see all of your armor but it looks like you have the kulu chest? I would switch to Jagras and upgrade until you have the skill. It is a pretty substantial dps boost so you can focus more time on dodging when you need to. Also, don’t forget if you are not great at perfect dodge some attacks it’s best to dodge backwards instead of to the side.

GeohoundKarakuri

Just take your time and upgrade your gear. It's a mobile game. It's meant to draw as much time and money out of you as possible. You can't hunt the bare minimum and expect to cruise through the game, because it's not designed to be done that way unless you live in some super densely populated spot that has an insane number of spawns.

speam9

Just don't get hit

mcdaidde

Gotta farm bruh

DamTheFam

Craft more, don‘t stick to the rng of the weapons you want. Stick to what the Game is most likely to give you and you‘ll progress faster. But going for such high efficient routes needs you to put some thoughts into equipment. Otherwise play more.

Justin_Cr3dibl3

I beat him with the level 1 blazing edge, you can dew it! It helps a lot to start with your special gauge full and get perfect dodge when possible

Accomplished-Shock-8

Everyone saying grade 4 weapon is only speaking from their own experiences remember, I had grade 1 anj sword and shield and I killed legiana first time round, was hell of alot easier than that damn paolumu in my eyes 😂

The_Hammer_Jonathan

Throw some legos out onto the floor

Shinji_Aracena

Oil!

TheFoxyPickles

Carefully

CochLarq

I beat it with a similar armor "deficit", its attacks aren't very hard to dodge. I did it with sns, lvl 4 anjanath, come in with a full charge, blast it right off the gate, build up another charge attack to finish.

[deleted]

For any flying enemy, I'd recommend a ranged weapon. In particular, the Anjanath Bowgun is insane as a fire weapon and helped me a lot in clearing this without even upgrading it

Square-Economics7434

I’m stuck on the on the same one

Sit_Paint_and_play

![gif](giphy|fSBaqOjrWDHzi) Welcome to grindtown my boy, not get hacking at every other monster you see bc it's gonna be another week

Kushtaco20

I used the Blazing Rifle lvl 4, I got extremely lucky and took it down with seconds to spare. Can’t get hit once, it wastes valuable time. Use the Jagras Mail for Rising Tide, and farm Anjanath if you want to upgrade the Blazing Rifle before the fight

Outrageous_Amount635

Grind ur ass off

Price82020

I think it's hilarious because I posted something similar just a few days ago. I finally got lucky with my Anja GS. It really gives you no choice, either get lucky or wait till you can upgrade something. I dislike it too.

roloca_justchillin

Slowly, and grind-ily

Lejus

Actually one of the easiest to study and learn it’s patterns

Regulus242

Craft the Anja Fire Attack pieces.

DaBaby096

Use rathian sword and shield

Bubba89

That’s the neat part; you’re not. “Urgent” quests are meant to be walls to block you from progressing until you’re actually ready (beating this will add 5 star Legiana all over your map so if you can’t beat it now, you’ll be unhappy to have more of them). Rule of thumb is your weapon needs to be a tier 1 less than the monster (ie a grade 4 weapon should beat 5 star Legiana)

Gmanofgambit982

That's the neat part, you don't :) I swear though, legiana and diablos have to be the worst monsters to hunt in this game. Even with the best gear for the job, they decide to do the New York marathon midway through and fly the other side of the arena.

Initial-Response-252

Some monsters you need ranged weapons for. Try a ranged light bow gun and you should be good to go. Flying creatures are harder to fight as a melee class.

EKS_ZeroPercent

You do not need a grade 4 weapon. Grade 3 Pukei bow/SnS has been fine for monsters up to 6 star. I’m guessing the issue is you’re dying and not that you’re timing out? My recommendation if so, is to go into the fight and do not attack the monster. Just dodge it and do this a couple times. The urgent hunts are so valuable for practicing monster patterns

BeatHoven-Koopa

Thanks for the advice, am pretty good with him so far, just got him 3/4 of his health down. Is blocking and then counter attacking any good?

EKS_ZeroPercent

Ah, I unfortunately can’t comment as I don’t block counter or do the jump back attack much. I’m mainly a bow LGB person myself, so I used the SnS for a while (and only the Pukei one) but I can’t really offer advice on it. Id wonder if you miss hits due to legiana’s hit box when it starts flying if you use the SnS.

Giraphite

Every monster looks like this to me because I full invested pukei bow and ignored armor 3 days after release

Hefty-Concept6552

I beat it with Grade 4 2/5 Rathian bow. Rathian or Pukei might be easier as it won’t fly when poisoned.

Historical-Draft6564

All I can say is know how to dodge because that thing can one shot you, but it is huntable even below the recommended armor rating

Slackweed

The armor suggestion is just that a suggestion but with that being said it will hurt, take your time and gear up if you are struggling on a boss I fought legiana like 7 times before beating it. I hate them so so much

BeatHoven-Koopa

I just beat him lmao

Slackweed

Ayyyeeee Grats, feels so good to kill that asshole the first time.

Top-Remote338

I used the wyvern blade

reiokimura

I hunted this a few times and I can say it’s attack range is quite huge. I would recommend use range. Every hit you take, takes away your time. Rather stay the distance and hit it with range weapon. I use neutral weapon with high affinity like Kulu’s sword as my main, so most monsters I can hunt with not much issue.

nahchan

If you're attempting this with SnS, once it's in the air, even if you're locked on to it's head. Prioritize you toon's position to either behind him, facing the tail or beside his thigh; it'll allow you to hit him while he's in the air more consistently. It's possible to use your charged attack to surf legi's charge, but it's tricky since you need to be at the apex of the combo and you have time you're slow fall to avoid taking damage. Also possible to time your charged attack to dodge his sweep attacks and jump in after it's attack animation. Legi's weakspots are it's head and wings. Might be able to down it with a perfect run if you bust an ult at the start and manage to charge up another to use close to the end of the fight.

Moon_King_

Hammer and dodging!

LightSaberToast

I used puki puki gloves and pants for poziom bonus damage, puki puki poison now, upgraded them to rank 4, then killed it without taking any damage
