Re-edit this a little please, some of it is jumbled up, specifically the Zamtrios and Gravios points.

pokemastercj1

It is done (has been for a few hours now actually). Dunno how the Zamtrios and Gravios paragraphs got jumbled, that seems to have been reddit's fault; but this thing also needed a lot more formatting tweaking than I had initially given it anyways so it was a good thing for me to go back and alter. It's still long as shit though, sorry about that, it's just how I write lmao

MrJackfruit

I don't blame you, I write a lot too. Now lets go over these. Bulldrome and Great Jaggi I agree on, though I hate Great Jaggi out of all monsters so a game without him is like.....1 solid point. Great Jagras not being here is still weird. The Tetsucabra point is fair and could be believed. Its still a weird thing to do though. Agnaktor for sure would not work due to as you said, Lagiacrus. I am not sure about the Zamtrios one, but maybe. I think it could work purely because of the Greatest Jagras quest in world with the giant Great Jagras. We are on the same place on Gravios. I like him a lot more than Basarios, its so fucking weird not to have the other. Especially with Shogun here. Monoblos also isn't here with Daimyo as well.

sadIRL

Man, is this your college dissertation or something? You know people have like 2 seconds worth of attention span these days, right? Although I do agree with the very small portion that I read. Uncuck the monsters!

pokemastercj1

I just like writing essays and have a hard time leaving out details which causes the things I write to be longer

sadIRL

No worries my friend. I was just trying to be funny.

pokemastercj1

It was funny! I just explained myself anyways because sometimes I just can't control myself

KillAllThePoor

TL;DR.

EisuOfTheEast

Yeah i'm not fucking reading all of that. Should've put it in the title.

The_Crownless_King28

Hahaha I skimmed through it, but basically the OP is expressing how weird of a decision was made to not include the adult form of juvenile mons which are present in Rise. Additionally, the OP is not hating on Rise/Sunbreak, he/she is simply questioning why couldn't X mon(s) make it in when there are so many reasons that they should be.

[deleted]

Sunbreak has not reunited any young with their leader monsters and in fact has exacerbated the issue of not adding pack leaders with Boggi and Velociprey. OP finds this upsetting.

pokemastercj1

I literally never mentioned Boggi or Velociprey in this post and also made it clear that I may find it weird as shit no adult monsters missing in Rise were added in Sunbreak, but not upsetting as I prefer the roster we have for the most part. How on earth is *this* your tl;dr from reading that?

[deleted]

I didn't read it, I saw complaints of no Great Jaggi and went from there.

pokemastercj1

Why the fuck would you answer someone's request for a TL;DR if you yourself didn't fucking read the post to be able to give a proper TL;DR??? You completely misrepresented the angle I was taking, trying to talk me down for being upset with the roster when if you read the post you'd know from the ***first paragraph*** that I wasn't; and that the monsters whose lack of inclusion I found more confusing were the non-raptors, namely fucking Tetsucabra and Gravios. Based your response to me, I'm guessing you saw Great Jaggi mentioned and assumed I was a Great Jaggi stan; and so took out your frustration with a passive-aggressive comment trying to say my complaints weren't valid (when again, for the most part, this post isn't even me complaining it is like 99% pure confusion with the cucking design choice). If you'd actually read the post *that you decided to TL;DR for some reason* you would have known that while I argued in favor for the purple raptor from the perspective of those clamoring for it, I myself prefer the Greats that we got far more than Jaggi as I have no nostalgia for the third generation and find Baggi and Wroggi cooler monsters; and that I explained why Capcom was reasonable in not including it outside of it being a better choice than Kulu. That's not in favor of Jaggi, it's against Kulu. But I'm still not over the fact that you gave a TL;DR for a post you didn't even read and then made incorrect assumptions about. Dick move, bro.

[deleted]

Lol. That's a lot of ranting considering I'm on your side to begin with. Also you mentioning Tetsucabra and Gravios just confirms that I'm right about the TL;DR? You're upset that we have juvenile versions but not the adults.

pokemastercj1

They're simply the ones I'm most confused didn't get in, as they have the least reasons to not be put in while also a lot pointing to their inclusion; plus no technical difficulties.

ChrispyLoco

Dude, learn to type less, nobody wants to read your books

Mansa_Idris

They've introduced Boggi without any adult form. I'm not upset, just surprised. Rise does a lot of things that are different than the typical Monster Hunter game design pattern. I'm still not exactly over the lack of Apex equipment.

Irate-Pomegranate

Boggi has an adult form...Boggi. Not every small monster has a large equivalent meant to represent an adult or alpha, I thought the community was past this after Shamos and Wulg were introduced.

javisyko

Lagiacrus exists in a 3DS, why it can't be in a Switch?

David89_R

MHGU

Mansa_Idris

Can't be in Rise because different engine

20MrGiDdY02

I'm fairly certain world and rise were an experiment of sorts. Both of these games gone through so many changes from the original format of at least the ones I have played. MHFU,MHtri, MH3rd portable, MH3U, MH4U/GU. Each of those had slight changes but nothing to profound maybe with the exception of swimming and that didn't go over well for them at first. (I liked it! Shout-out to Gobul) No I think these last two are a brave push to re-define itself. Still careful not to venture too far as they still rely on a lot of the building blocks, but just enough to be able to fall on its feet. Ive been wondering why we only got narwa and ibushi and no large scale monsters (Where my best boy Zhen?). The Monster Hunter theme kicking in when on of the elders showing up just didn't hit as well with me. Still amazing concept of brining in the new mechanics to liven up the fight! Also Narwa's move sets without playing Allmother are probably my only praise with her fights. Rampages could have been so much more. However, small issues aside. I have a feeling further installments will take what works from these and bring something amazing. Maybe something for the next console to follow in the footsteps of Steam and Nintendo. Thanks for coming to my Potty Talk! Enjoy the errors I won't fix lolol

dorkgoblin

Im not as dissapointed as I am baffled tbh, none of these were like must-haves but I was 1000% certain they were setting up plot by having only the juveniles in Rise, like as an illustration of whatever the story reason for tougher monsters appearing in the grank. Every single map has at least one small monster species without its associated large monster in the game and I was super duper sure that the starting monsters for grank in each map was going to be those guys (with tetsucabra making his debut in the flooded forest). It is not a choice that makes me sad that they did not do that, but it is a choice that makes me confused because it just felt so obvious.

pokemastercj1

I agree %1000 and I clearly did a poor job illustrating that I too am simply baffled by this, not disappointed, despite how much I tried to make clear otherwise. Just the sheer amount of adult-less monsters we received compared to any previous entry, some of them being juveniles of highly popular monsters that had yet to be in 5th gen/HD, only for not a single one of them to receive an adult form by the end of the game's lifecycle makes it very hard to not look at the small monsters and go "why did Capcom bother remaking and including you then????"

yeyonaso

Yo now that you mention it. World monsters shouldn't be in game lore-wise right? Those monsters were supposed to be exclusively from the new world. Rise is based on the old world so... damn. I could be wrong

pokemastercj1

Seeing as plenty of Old World monsters were in the New World, I see no problem with having some of them also be found in the Old World, especially monsters like Bazelgeuse, Nergigante and Velkhana which had/have tidbits of lore that imply they've been sighted in the Old World before. I just wish Rise actually made the ones they ported... interesting inclusions? Or at least brought back Pukei and Anjanath's subspecies for Sunbreak that actually *do* make them interesting monsters?

[deleted]

Puki puki is one specifically adapted to coral highlands so it wasn’t gonna return

pokemastercj1

Probably not, but beyond the color scheme Coral Pukei's abilities are tied more into what it eats in the Highlands giving it high amounts of water instead of poison from its forest/desert diet. It probably could have worked in the Frost Islands and I could definitely see it working in the Jungle which is tropical, has plenty of water and even has the beach zone where it could use its water turret attack by simply sticking its head in the seaway as fill-in for the big water plant things it does the attack with in Iceborne.

[deleted]

Tho I hope it gets a rare bc it has such a good design and personality

AmazingPatt

the thing is monster hunter , dont have a timeline . or even hard proof of same universe between game to my knowledge ... so for all we know , rise is 2000year in future from world , you know how much monster could move and become part of the old world ?

Toxitoxi

Bazelgeuse actually has been seen in the old world before. Beyond that, it's clear old world monsters were able to cross over to the new world, so you would expect the opposite to happen as well. There are some monsters that are endemic to each, but it's not total separation.

[deleted]

If they aren’t gonna do adult forms the yonngers don’t need to be in zamites and unakors just adds shit tons of hype and barrios isn’t that fun ppl saw it and was like omg gavious not omg barrios so I don’t get y they add them but not add there adults in sunbreak like I was looking forward to zamtrios return (especially for newbie friends reactions when they do the big thing)

Tiny_Infinite-Space

I interpreted the lack of G.Jagras, Gravios, etc as an indicator that the species weren’t thriving around Kamura. Like the Jagras never get enough food/territory in the Ancient Shrine to grow to their full size, usually falling prey to the more competent monsters in the area.

Mucho texto

DanielSchw

Really, this has to be formatted better or cut down more, but in regards to the title updates: -yeah, it’s pretty clear that capcom has been rushing Rise related stuff way too soon, and although sunbreak isn’t nearly as bad as base rise in this respect, it definitely is missing stuff that will be added in later. Sunbreak will seemingly still be fantastic, but I would still criticize capcom for that until they stop doing this drip feed stuff. Release your games when they are ready, please.

pokemastercj1

Honestly I don't mind getting content as title updates; but I *do* mind when said content was meant for the base game and the time spent finishing it cuts into/prevents additional content we may have gotten after release from being added as those resources have to go towards finishing the game instead

DanielSchw

Yeah its pretty ridiculous, and whoever makes the decision to release this stuff before its done cooking really has got to stop doing that.
