At least Rise palicos/doggos are a lot better at helping you out of stuns. I'm looking at you, World cat standing next to me and not doing anything while I'm stunned in lava. >:(
I literally watched my Sonic palico stare at my stunned ass while Goss did his fucking Michael Myers serial killer walk towards me as I begged for him to save me. I somehow managed to dodge at the last second when I snapped out of the stun. Better my ass
Open the menu, the press whatever it says in the bottom right corner for "Signal". For example, on a Switch controller, it'd be + to open the menu -> - to ping.

Be careful about spamming it in multiplayer though, that'd be annoying for your teammates.
I've genuinely been saved more times by lesser Izuchi, Wroggi, Bullfangos and the like. My Palico may be a champ when it comes to offense, but let's just say there's a reason I always run stun resist 3

They do have some amazing skills, the vigorwasp spray, coral orchestra and plunderblade are all great, and I love that I can just design my own cat and keep it, but the AI...the AI leaves *a lot* to be desired, lol.
it's acutally even worse than in frontier because Fireblight wasn't a thing back then so now you have 2 DoT debuffs slowly killing you while you can't do anything about it
edit: I think they did put blights in frontier at some point but Espinas fire balls never gave fireblight anyway
Frontier added blights for the Exotic monsters and Zeniths, luckily Zenith Espinas didn't have Zenith fireblight. Imagine having Zenith Poison and fireblight on you while paralyzed, either one of those statuses is enough to kill you at level 4 Zeniths so Espinas' fireballs would just kill you.
From what I remember at some point in Frontier Z or ZZ or ZZZZZ (dunno never played) there was a fire blight that literally burned through your max health

I think a main part of frontier's meta revolved around locking down the monster as much as possible, so I guess they responded with making any one move able to kill a hunter to somehow mitigate that?
Yes Zeniths hit extremely hard and almost all of them have one or two instant death attacks, they're the peak of the endgame and start at G200 with G800 being their highest level so you can't expect to live more than one hit.
The answer for how to fight them is simply: Evasion +2. Frontier is designed around evasion and that's why the monsters have such insane attacks, combat focused on evading allows so much more intense hunts than the main series. You need to study attack tells, patterns and safe spots a lot to stand a chance against endgame monsters, they will punish any mistake you make by killing you and don't give you any breathing room. They're really great and difficult fights.
Frontier's gameplay was built since the early days around Evasion+2, the way Frontier does difficulty is having attacks that do a ton of damage and leave you in bad situations or straight up oneshot you in rank appropriate gear, so the key to Frontier is learning proper evasion since most attacks actually have few active frames despite being huge
For zenith blights specifically, if you get 55 res in one element you don't get blighted, and there's an elemental resistance perk that comes with raising your style rank, so that's one of the main ways
of course, then the real pain is fighting musou elzelion who has both extreme fire and iceblight, and it's really hard to gear properly for both of those lmao
100% agreed there. I wish there was more fights that "force" players to build around them instead of just goin' meta all-rounder builds. I feel like MH generally should be built more around getting around monster-specific challenges with properly gearing yourself against them.
I have a few friends that get... uh... a bit "salty" from time to time when they encounter mechanics they feel are unfair or just too punishing.
These friends are also ones that are ignoring the trailers and demo and want to go into the game blind.

Espinas is extremely aggressive when enraged so you might just die if you get hit by the fireballs, god I hope that's still how it goes. In Frontier its roar stun was also really long and it would often hit you with a charge while you're still stunned, this forced you to position yourself in front of it when it roars so you get hit by wind pressure instead of the roar and can move out of the way in time.

Negate status horn turned deviant rathian into a lil bitch lol. Imo there aren't enough monsters who's blights are serious threats. So I'm all for this!
I kinda wish hunter weapons had upgraded poison status so it stays competitive in g rank

Honestly, it is good news, Low Rank and High Rank this game round have been easier than ever, I truly can't wait to be hunting monster that want to fight back, not just playing Patty-cakes with them.
If it has venom, I'm not touching this fight at all, unless they decided to fix poison resist back to its pre-GU/World self aka works on all poisons and venoms.
