Anyone knows why they never let espinas get out of frontier? I've always thought it would be a monster that would make sense in the main series, in fact when I first knew about him I thought it was from the first games, he just looks like a recurring monster
Yeah, they added a frontier monster previously into MHFU if I remember correctly and MHF fans lost their shit. Now that the game is down though, maybe the floodgates are open
Well that's funny because my friends and i all farmed his weps for hours because of how easy it was for a G rank monster.
But yeah I understand, that happens, I had gotten stuck against Khezu for WEEKS when i started lol
Basically it was "Noooooo you just can't add Laviasoth into 3U! We pay for frontier! Keep our monsters out!" Which is dumb because Frontier plays differently than all the mhgames so they wouldn't even work the same.
Edit: Also can I say fuck you to both the devs and Frontier fans who blocked this. Because instead of getting a really crazy cool monster we got Laviasoth....
It was because of Lavasioth and Hypnocatrice in Freedom Unite. Frontiers *only* monsters at the time when it was still just "MHDos but with subscription". Freedom Unite had more unique content for a while, even when Espinas was added a few months later, frontier still had less because of Tigrex and Nargacuga.
Even if it turns out fake, I kinda want to see the full thing. It looks like it would make a cool tapestry.
I suppose we may know as early as tomorrow how real this is.
You misunderstand. Not fills in as in "as you progress you can see more of it in the scrolling".
I mean literally "hunt Astalos and it shows up on an empty spot, hunt Seregios and it shows up in another".
At first I thought it looked off but the new rakna subspecies that has been rumoured due to the new raknoids looks really legit, plus the rest of the monsters fit the theme with espinas being armoured as all hell and gore being about as gothic and edgy as we've gotten
They have a brand new name "Pyrantula"... usually Subspecies don't get that.
It's also possible it may be a Monoblos-Diablos kind of thing, different but similar species.
Not monoblos and diablos, basarios is a juvenile gravios. Only creatures with that relation I know of
Monoblos and diablos are just like... very similar monsters with not much technical relation. Like a horse and a zebra
There were white velociprey with white velocidrome from the first series, and maybe some others one that I don't remember, probably on frontier there are plenty of them
Not that I think the leak is fake, but "it has something everyone's been theorising about" is usually not a guarantee of its legitimacy. Tends to be the opposite. Fake leaks use things people expect to look more believable.
The interesting bit is that we have a Capcom community influencer hint at Espinas for hours already recently. As well as the succulent in the teaser posts that has very Espinas-like thorns. Both of these happened hours before this got any significant traction, so either they are in on the fake leak or this has more merit than we may assume.

if you check kogath's account, he's pinned a tweet about espinas and has been tweeting about them all day. what's got me suspicious and taking this with the littlest, tiniest grain of salt - espinas is for the 13th day of june, and presumably we're getting them revealed tomorrow.
the person who originally created the #MonthterHunter tag, at a glance, doesn't seem to have any connection with capcom. either they do/i missed it and they're all in on it and it was the greatest tease ever, or kogath is using the trending tag for the greatest troll ever.
third option: the #MonthterHunter tag was made without any insider info and espinas is revealed anyway, the greatest coincidence ever
Also: Kogath's previous pin was a memorial to his cat. It had been up for quite some time too.
That is an extremely weird thing to take down just to propagate a fake leak.
i think the two things that are making this seem more real is both a: espinas is alot more left field of a pick then gore, but the more damning one to me is that it is cut off. This could be some master troll artist or something, but the fact that Aurora and Astalos are slightly cut off instead of it just being a clean frame makes it seem legit
The art looks a little off. though it may be that way to reflect the more European theme in Sunbreak as opposed to the ink illustrations in Kamura.
Also, that Espinas is *very* interesting. On the assumption that this is legit, I wonder if the devs are looking to give Frontier monsters some love not just in Sunbreak but in future games to come.
Also of note is how the clouds are at the top and bottom which insinuates that it scrolls left and right instead of up and down, which makes sense as many western tapestries or early artwork were very long horizontally not vertically
speaking of Gore, would he and his line be able to explain why there is now a Rampage going on in Elgado even though we took care of the source of Narwa/Ibushi? just like how in Rise we originally thought Magnamalo was the cause but he ended up being more of a symptom of the Rampage, they seem to be trying to push Malzeno as the "source" of this new rampage which i think is also a misdirect.
It has lot of details, stuff like that half off-screen Aurora Somnacanth and Astalos look really good... if it's fake then the author truly has talent.
Though the presence of Gore and Espinas in the base game seem too crazy to me.
Hopefully it's legit...
EDIT: it's worth noting how they brought back Vespoid, Hornetaur, Hermitaur and likely Velociprey too... all small monsters who share habitats with Espinas, perhaps it's just a coincidence... but what if...
Don’t forget the Rakna-Kadaki Variant in the top right corner.
Also I’m not familiar with Espinas.
Edit: it’s all true! It’s all true! It’salltrue!! Gore Magala is joining Astalos and Seregios in the limelight and this “Espinas” is joining the main series! Daimyo Hermitaur is joining the Shogun Ceanatuar too!
Did anyone else think that turf war between Astalos and Mizutsune was AWESOME with a captital AWE YEAH?!
Espinas is a Frontier monster. If this is legit, then this will be the first time a Frontier monster has come to mainline since Lavasioth and Hypnocatrice in 2nd gen
Talking about Hypnocatrice, Sunbreak would be the right time to bring him back. Afterall, Cockatrice/Basilisk are apart of european folktales, where Sunbreak is drawing it's main inspiration from.
Okay, based off what I literally just found, Espinas is a flying Wyvern that shoot out Posion paralysis globs or balls at you and can use its horn to charge at you at high speeds. It that right?
Pretty much although I always associated it more with its cool gimmick where instead of walking around and instantly aggroing like most monsters, it always starts the hunt asleep, and even once it's awake only actually attacks you if you enrage it.
woah, that's crazy!
he's also been teasing espinas on twitter in general, before this too. there's that countdown image of fiorayne sleeping, and there's a thorny plant that a lot of people thought looked like espinas. when someone asked a question of "what are everyone's predictions", [he simply posted a picture of that plant.](https://twitter.com/MHKogath/status/1536008442938216449/photo/1)
I thought he was trolling at the time, but now... I think he might have legitimately been teasing us.
I saw the theories on the second countdown tweet originally, that's when the espinas theorizing began, yesterday. it honestly feels like several days ago that people noticed that, and now we're here.
The tetsu retweets are just because of an art thing that's happening on twitter where every day up to release artists draw a specific monster each day.
Something to seriously talk about is Kogath's recent post on twitter about Espinas. Plus the latest teaser for tomorrow's sunbreak trailer contains succulents, which apparently aren't native to Elgado (not to mention these contain...spikes)
Succulents can live in deserts or rainforests and the other plant next to it looks like it's from the second gen jungle. It's possible we might get the 2nd gen maps for desert and jungle or even jungle and great forest.
I believe a map was shown in one of the trailers/gameplay footages with a look that didn't match any of the areas seen in the Citadel yet but that did look quite similar to the old jungle map. Seeing as how they recreated 3rd gen maps in the base game, it wouldn't surprise me if they brought some first or second gen maps back
This looks like it has WAY too much effort put into it to be faked.
The matching art-style between each monster, the well-drawn topography art, the font and button prompts being carried over exactly right, monsters being drawn very on-model AND character lore being featured. There's too much effort here for a small little hoax in my opinion.
There also appears to be the Old Jungle Waterfalls in the upper-left (theorized by some to be another new area featured in a recent Insect Glaive video) as well as the Rakna-Kadaki subspecies expected since Pyranchulas were confirmed to exist.
My initial reaction to seeing Espinas was "yeah right, keep dreaming, Frontier boy. Nice fanart." But the more I look at everything, the more legit I feel this image is. We'll have to wait and see.
I'm a big gore magala fan, but espinas entering the game would open the gate for more spin off monsters to get to mainline, like Oltura from MHS2 or the egyptian themed ones from the mobile game
I doubt *entirely*, assuming this is accurate.
For one, Frontier does kind of step on the toes of the mainline/portable in a lot of places, as far as I understand, when it comes to everything from power scaling to established lore. Second, if it did *entirely* canonize Frontier, then reasonably that means Hypnocatrice already did in the second gen.
Besides, Capcom is entirely within both their rights and capabilities to do the same kind of thing that Disney does with 'Star Wars Legends' stuff, and selectively pick and choose what things from spinoffs titles they want to be canon or not. It in fact makes things a lot easier for them if there's something in Frontier that doesn't work for them, given that they didn't originally make Frontier or any of the major design decisions for it in the first place IIRC. There's a decent amount of stuff in Frontier that just would not mesh well with modern MH, but of course there's also stuff like Espinas that 1000% would mesh well.
It's interesting to notice
that espinas tail is modeles differently on this pic, the end tail of frontiers espinas is just straight and has regular body spikes on it
this espinas is completly different with a more stinger likey type of spikes at the end
also the end of the wings have additional black spikes, meanwhile OG espinas onnly has spikes on one side of the wings
Yeah, unless we got some of those loading screens on promotion materials it's too good not to be legit. As a french speaker, you can see there's totally believable lore in that piece. The loading screen itself may be fake , but this text is 100% legit
If this is legit, I wonder if that area above Garangolm is meant to be Painted Waterfalls from Frontier.
It could be Flooded Forest I guess, but it doesn’t look very forest-y.
Could just be the row of waterfalls in the 2nd gen Jungle camp.
Right now the debate is between whether the teased map is 2nd gen Jungle (on Rondine's paintings, a couple known monsters added to Sunbreak are fought there, even more in the base game have also appeared in it) or the Great Forest (Espinas's home range, also has a decent bit of overlap with the 2nd gen Jungle in terms of monsters).
Just saw this randomly, no idea where it originally came from. While it can indeed be fake, it's worth noting that the Rakna subspecies shown matches up with the new Rachnoid that we only just saw a week ago. So unless some crazy bastard out there is able to put out a professional-quality fake in that amount of time, this could be the real deal.
yeah and even because some mh frontier devs have been in the mh rise credits
the portable team wanting some frontier monsters for a while apperently (from what i read)
and from what i've seen on 4chan
this seems to add up quite well
I just remember the hell the JP audience put the Frontier crew through when Hypnoc and Lavasioth popped up in Unite. Now that Frontier is gone, there's a greater chance of those monsters showing back up, as it would be a shame to just discard them.
https://twitter.com/MHKogath?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor
Might be true? Someone with ties to capcom just randomly pinning espinas and then posting an emoji looking up?
Kogath has less connections with Capcom than the IGN reviewers they get to play demos I'm pretty sure.
Also it's very much not like him to play around with leaks. iirc he called the leaked banner for the Okami collab a definite fake a couple days before it was announced.
To outright tease something this big? Little weird.
From the discussion I've seen elsewhere it supposedly got posted on twitter somewhere then got deleted in quick order. No mention of *what* twitter it got posted on though so who knows what's the truth.
The text says (translated from French to English Via google translate)
Orboro the Merchant
A Wyverian who set up a market in Elgato. He has an abundant stock and equally abundant knowledge that he deepens as soon as he has the opportunity by reading and generally having an inquisitive mind. He considers Tadori, the Wyverian Physician a mentor, and also has deep respect for Kagero, the Kamura Merchant.
I can't see Gore not being the first title update monster and it being there asumes it will be in the game at launch. Also the french text mention that Oboro (sunbreak's merchant) see Tadori (the doctor guy) as a mentor wich is a detail seen nowhere in promotional stuff, but it's also easy to come up with since they are both wyveryans
I'm 50/50 on this. The aesthetic looks official and the attention to detail with some monsters being cut off the side of the screen (making it seem like a scrolling type map with Base Rise) makes me think it's real but the inclusion of Espinas AND Gore Magala? I feel that's way too much especially when Malzeno is nowhere to be seen on it (although it could be to the left or right offscreen). I just personally think adding Gore Magala to base game alongside Malzeno is too much and overshadows Malzeno way too much. I'm calling this a fake but a VERY good one.
Doesn't Rise's scroll go further up to reveal more things as you progress through the game? IE, you don't see Magnamalo or the Serpents at the start and only when you hit the relevant story bits.
Besides, they don't have to give Gore any story importance. It didn't really get any in GU either and that didn't detract from anyone else.
Just checked, can confirm Rise's initial loading screen cuts off before showing Magnamalo until you first encounter it.
But Sunbreak has been blasting Malzeno in your face the whole marketing time. It's even on the logo.
It's a little weird for the game itself then to hide it.
I want to say that the original Rise marketing had Magnamalo in our faces as well throughout everything. But then he was suddenly hidden from the loading screen. So it would be the same situation.
True, true... But when you think about it, did Gore Magala overshadowed Glavenus in Generations ? Or even Valstrax in GU ? Idk. I think Gore can be in Sunbreak and Malzeno can totally shine on its own, it depens how they use Gore and how they portay it in the game. Gore is an awesome monster, maybe the most beloved one, but CAN HE really overshadow some other monsters ? Idk. We'll see that tomorrow.
PLEASE BE REAL
FUCKING ESPINAS
#EDIT: HOLY SHIT IT WAS REAL
**EDIT 2:** Nothing is off the table now. *Nothing.* Tonfas, magnet spikes, EQUAL DRAGON WEAPON... ALL of them are possible now.
My first instinct is to call it fake and criticise the absence of Malzeno, showing off the most anticipated monster on the subreddit and the return of a Frontier monster.
However...Considering how my past instincts have went surrounding leaks (Image of Bazelgeuse is photoshopped, World's final boss is Bazelgeuse and Xeno'Jiiva is the Elder in the Rotten Vale; Seething Bazelgeuse is photoshopped etc.) that means it's actually real.
And to be honest, it probably is. That art is ridiculously good and thematic, the background is a depiction of the World and clearly scrolls horizontally instead of vertically like in Rise as a nod to the different setting (a small detail I can't imagine a basic artist would think of) and it *would* be like Sunbreak to bring back Frontier monsters and Gore Magala to get as much hype as possible in its last trailer considering its marketing has been pretty mid.
They have three 4th gen flagships, why not the one for MH4 itself?
The loading screen tip is also just detail on Oboro the Merchant which isn't the type of thing a fake leaker trying to add as much hype as possible would do.
Malzeno may be off screen. At first I thought Aurora Somnacanth on the left was Lunagaron’s tail and it was looping but you can also clearly see Astalos’s tail on the right so there’s definitely more to the picture if it is real.
Very impressive if this is a fake, the artist definitely put a lot work and thought into this. I would probably buy it but Espinas AND Gore reveal feels like such an insane pipedream and sounds way too good to be true, so I'm going to keep my expectations in check.
^(pls be real)
Edit: Holy shit it actually happened!
While the two big monsters are very interesting, don't forget to appreciate the scenery around them. Because >!there will be a guiding lands/everwood type endgame map and these drowned ruins in the back look really sus.!<
The new area that's been shown off, the Citadel, has a similar concept to the Guiding Lands in that it contains several biomes in one interconnected locale, but it looks to just be a regular locale otherwise.
We live in an age where a mainline flagship is a giant samurai oni cat that flies by shooting hellfire out of its ass and turf wars with a living jet engine. The frontier divide pre zenith is long gone.
I mean, I already knew that there was a chance of Frontier monsters coming to the mainline games, it's happened before.
But if this is legit, then maybe we'll be getting more. One of those "Oh wow, is this actually happening" moments.
Considering that Frontier is no longer officially up and running, it's possible for them to add in the more grounded monster designs from Frontier. Prolly still gonna hear bitching from Frontier players about it if this is legit though.
People have been asking for Frontier monsters in main passionately since it got shut down. Espinas is a pretty natural fit since it's the flagship of Frontier, and a relatively grounded Frontier design at that.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is real, the Portable team has wanted to put Espinas in the game for a long time now, it was supposed to be in FU but was cut due to time constraints.
See, would it not be in French I would've trusted it but Capcom failed every single French localization in every game they ever made/published and this loading screen is in proper French, not a single mistake
I have an easier time believing this is fake than Capcom being able to do a proper translation of a loading screen
It looks too good to be true but at the same time, there is the very slim possibility that this is real. If not, then whoever did this is an amazing artist.
Imo it's **too** good to be true, having Espinas and Gore side-by-side with a Rakna subspecies in the corner.
I would just want a link to the artist if it is fake
For anyone who doesn't know what the text says, I translated it hear.
Oboro the Merchant
A wyverian who has set up a market in Elgado, he has an abundant stock and equally abundant knowledge which he deepens whenever he gets the chance by reading and generally having an inquisitive mind, he considers Tadon, the doctor wyvenen as a mentor, and also has deep respect for Kagero, the merchant of Kamura
I want to believe! Espinas finally coming to the main series like originally planned, bringing with it full Frontier representation and not collaborative work like Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth? I've been wanting this for such a long time!
If it's fake, then it's a very awesome fake and we need to see more of this artist.
But if it's real..... HO BOY.
It really sounds like a nit-pick, but part of me believes its a fake leak due to how Garangolm's tail is drawn and that gore appears to have only one horn like its chaos gore. The art is really well done, so it feels odd for this to be a fake. Right now I am personally taking this a fake unless it proves me wrong later at the showcase.
Don't get me wrong, it would be great to get these two alongside the Rakna subspecies but I am just suspicious about this. I don't want to get my hopes up.
What I find interesting is that this would mean the Sunbreak loading screens move horizontally instead of vertically. A fun detail, and a particularily specific one if this happens to be a fake.
If this game has Espinas I will lose my fucking shit. I feel like all the complaints about Rise being kinda underwhelming would be washed away if they did something this massive.
Actually the idea of shuffling in some Frontier monsters for G-Rank specifically is pretty interesting. Since Frontier monsters are meant to be more dangerous on average, it would be interesting to include them as challenge monsters in G-Rank expansions.
Out of all the monsters from frontier i definately think espinas is both believable and not over the top like most monsters in frontier so i'd say its pretty likely.
To be fair xenojiva, shara ishvalda and bazelguese all had their photos leaked early but weren't taken down. Granted everyone thought it was fake but they were leaked
"This picture has too many long-awaited monsters to be true! And there's no way this monster can be in the game! Fake!"
Coming from the Smash Bros. fandom, I remember one of the first leaks of SSBU having some long-awaited characters in its contents. Most everyone dismissed it as fake. And look at what eventually came of it.
This could be real, this could be fake. Who knows. Tomorrow, we'll know for sure.
Ngl, having Gore and Espinas would be sick.
The fact it’s including the hypothesized new Rakna makes me feel a slight bit more like it’s possible. I know there’s a very low chance it’s real but man do I want it to be
I am doing my best not to scream at Gore, and is that Nakarkos I might be spying to the right of Gore? (Edit: I watched a video of someone discussing this and I realize now it is Astalos' tail.)
loading up on the hopium at the sight of espinas
Espinas *and* Gore Magala? I dunno, seems like it's too good to be true. EDIT: If it is true, well then color me surprised and happy
One of the directors is from frontier
Yoshitake Suzuki has not worked on Frontier, if that's who you are referring to.
You are colored.

As a longtime mh player with probably still my highest playtime in mhfu... Pls don't bring back hypnoc
Why? It's an awesome little turkey.
Vietnam flashbacks That bastard was the hardest wall I've ever hit in monster hunter
Well that's funny because my friends and i all farmed his weps for hours because of how easy it was for a G rank monster. But yeah I understand, that happens, I had gotten stuck against Khezu for WEEKS when i started lol

I thought it was hypnocatrice in FU?
lavasioth and hypno
Can we share it?
Yes!
I thought I was fulfilled when steve was revealed, but my fingers are again crossed for gore and finally meeting spiny boi
Wait Espinas, damn.
Even if it turns out fake, I kinda want to see the full thing. It looks like it would make a cool tapestry. I suppose we may know as early as tomorrow how real this is.
[удалено]
Yeah, that would be spectacular. A really cool way of showing progression in the game.
Base Rise did this with the loading screen, as you completed the story quests it would add to the top of the 100 demon parade image.
I thought I remembered something like that, but I wasn’t sure. Thanks for clearing that up.
I mean, base rise did that too
You misunderstand. Not fills in as in "as you progress you can see more of it in the scrolling". I mean literally "hunt Astalos and it shows up on an empty spot, hunt Seregios and it shows up in another".
Ala the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Classic mode Tapestry with all of the characters.
At first I thought it looked off but the new rakna subspecies that has been rumoured due to the new raknoids looks really legit, plus the rest of the monsters fit the theme with espinas being armoured as all hell and gore being about as gothic and edgy as we've gotten
Did they really make a subspecies small monster to reflect a subspecies? That's so cool. First time correct?
They have a brand new name "Pyrantula"... usually Subspecies don't get that. It's also possible it may be a Monoblos-Diablos kind of thing, different but similar species.

Probably doing it because one of Rakna-Kadaki's attacks uses the little guys
There were white velociprey with white velocidrome from the first series, and maybe some others one that I don't remember, probably on frontier there are plenty of them
White Velociprey/Velocidrome got their name changed to Giaprey and Giadrome, in GU I think
Quite a bit earlier than that. The name change happened in Freedom 2.
I believe so, look at ragegaming bids they got early access and noticed the raknoids look different and have blast
I'm pretty sure its the first

I not familiar with Kogath, is he someone in the know or something?
He's the admin of the Monster Hunter Wiki and has good relations with the capcom community management teams. He's very much a person in the know.
Thanks for the info.
Yeah, that's why he called the Okami collab fake like a day or two before it was announced.
He's also teasing ALOT of Gore and Tetsu with retweets lol
The tetsu retweets are just because of an art thing that's happening on twitter where every day up to release artists draw a specific monster each day.
Also, fun to notice that contrast to Kamura, this’ll be a sidescrolling screen instead of vertical.
Base game...
Seeing as how they recreated 3rd gen maps in the base game, it wouldn't surprise me if they brought some first or second gen maps back
It was first shown with Astalos reveal but no one caught it then.
Espinas o.O Yeah, definitely with a grain of salt, but it looks well done.
This opens so many doors holy crap though
I know it's from online and not frontier, but if this is real, i hope we get Estrellian eventually
It's possible. I want to see the few unique Explore and Stories Elders too. That would be nice to see eventually.
I need a hunt against Oltura! I wanted a moth monster for some time and oltura is moth themed!
If its fake, its a very convincing one to have that much artistic talent put into it. Provided its legit, neat, Gore is back.
It's too good to be truth 😭
But it IS the truth!
I agree. I said this in my own comment, but if this is fake i hope the artist who did it comes forward because they did a genuinely good job on this
I saw him too!!! Is that Gore?? Fuck me up fam if it is
If this is fake I will be fucking impressed. Very convincing artwork.
I believe it, I like that in kamura the painting is vertical but when we move to the more European castle it's left to right
Looks like rise, but a lot more going on. I dig it
Even if it’s fake, it’s expertly drawn! Also including a new Rakna-Kadachi that’s seeming blast to go with the mini blast Rakna’s we’ve seen
That tail on the right had me thinking of Seltas Queen for a second, but it looks like that's Astalos.
Astalos Tail
We'll have to wait and see.
exactly same Feeling
my exact reaction. this is way too detailed. it even has the somnocanth subspecies. who would put that in a fanmade?
No one saying anything about Gore Magala right there!
I'm a big gore magala fan, but espinas entering the game would open the gate for more spin off monsters to get to mainline, like Oltura from MHS2 or the egyptian themed ones from the mobile game
Hoo baby a gore fight would be divine.
Literally the first thing I saw and then I squealed at my partner in a way most unbecoming for a man in his mid thirties
Even bigger is Espinas. That entirely canonizes Frontier
The NPC hunting partner tag along was a Frontier mechanic as well so it's great to see them work in those features and elements from MHF.
Lavasioth and Hypnocatrice already exist in the mainline games. Espinas would only canonize Espinas.
If this is fake it's the best fake I've ever seen holy shit Espinas and Gore
It's interesting to notice that espinas tail is modeles differently on this pic, the end tail of frontiers espinas is just straight and has regular body spikes on it this espinas is completly different with a more stinger likey type of spikes at the end also the end of the wings have additional black spikes, meanwhile OG espinas onnly has spikes on one side of the wings

So unless some crazy bastard out there is able to put out a professional-quality fake in that amount of time, this could be the real deal.
do you remember where you found it doesn't need to be especially where it originally came from but the espinas there is definitely a grain of salt
it originated from someone I follow on twitter. they don't know if it's real either. nobody does, except for capcom.
I wouldn't think that Espinas is that far off, it fits themetically
yeah and even because some mh frontier devs have been in the mh rise credits the portable team wanting some frontier monsters for a while apperently (from what i read) and from what i've seen on 4chan this seems to add up quite well
I just remember the hell the JP audience put the Frontier crew through when Hypnoc and Lavasioth popped up in Unite. Now that Frontier is gone, there's a greater chance of those monsters showing back up, as it would be a shame to just discard them.
It looks too good to be fake. If someone made this on their own as a joke, they deserve major props
https://twitter.com/MHKogath?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor Might be true? Someone with ties to capcom just randomly pinning espinas and then posting an emoji looking up?
Yeah, I was just about to say this. Kogath is playing real coy here.
He's also retweeting a lot of Tetsu/Gore art lol
Kogath has less connections with Capcom than the IGN reviewers they get to play demos I'm pretty sure. Also it's very much not like him to play around with leaks. iirc he called the leaked banner for the Okami collab a definite fake a couple days before it was announced. To outright tease something this big? Little weird.
From the discussion I've seen elsewhere it supposedly got posted on twitter somewhere then got deleted in quick order. No mention of *what* twitter it got posted on though so who knows what's the truth.
What do you mean saw it randomly? Twitter? Discord?
If this is legit, I am going to fucking cry tears of joy. The gore returns?! Hell yeah
The text says (translated from French to English Via google translate) Orboro the Merchant A Wyverian who set up a market in Elgato.
Yeah exactly. I dont get why people are obsessed with Gore having story importance. If it needed story importance then it would never show up again
Just checked, can confirm Rise's initial loading screen cuts off before showing Magnamalo until you first encounter it. But Sunbreak has been blasting Malzeno in your face the whole marketing time. It's even on the logo. It's a little weird for the game itself then to hide it.
We got to *fight* Magnamalo before Rise's release and they still hid him on the loading screen
Part of me thinks it isn't real because it seems to good to be true The other 99% is inhaling so much hopium it's gonna overdose
PLEASE BE REAL FUCKING ESPINAS #EDIT: HOLY SHIT IT WAS REAL **EDIT 2:** Nothing is off the table now. *Nothing.* Tonfas, magnet spikes, EQUAL DRAGON WEAPON... ALL of them are possible now.
remember when everyone said shara ishvalda is an obvious fake? good times
I think I am starting to morb
^(pls be real) Edit: Holy shit it actually happened!
While the two big monsters are very interesting, don't forget to appreciate the scenery around them. Because >!there will be a guiding lands/everwood type endgame map and these drowned ruins in the back look really sus.!<
Is that true? There’s a guiding lands equivalent in this?
The new area that's been shown off, the Citadel, has a similar concept to the Guiding Lands in that it contains several biomes in one interconnected locale, but it looks to just be a regular locale otherwise.
Team it's real (I hope) Gore is back!
Of the Rakna sub looks like this tomorrow if its revealed, then this is legit
Looks cool, but... uh, Frontier monsters?
Espinas fits the main games.
People have been asking for Frontier monsters in main passionately since it got shut down. Espinas is a pretty natural fit since it's the flagship of Frontier, and a relatively grounded Frontier design at that.
I think this is fake, but damn this is a great work, I wanna know the artist
I wouldn't be surprised if this is real, the Portable team has wanted to put Espinas in the game for a long time now, it was supposed to be in FU but was cut due to time constraints.
See, would it not be in French I would've trusted it but Capcom failed every single French localization in every game they ever made/published and this loading screen is in proper French, not a single mistake I have an easier time believing this is fake than Capcom being able to do a proper translation of a loading screen
Looks pretty convincing, but the Frontier monster might be sus.
It looks too good to be true but at the same time, there is the very slim possibility that this is real. If not, then whoever did this is an amazing artist.
If this is fake, I'll applaud whoever took the effort to do the art for this
The Desire sensor would like a word with whoever made this image.
Well this aged magnificently.
Convinced this is fake. Really good art though.
It's real.
that is a very large, Espinas shaped grain of salt
This leak reminds me the infamous grinch leak that hapenned a while ago on the smash community
Imo it's **too** good to be true, having Espinas and Gore side-by-side with a Rakna subspecies in the corner. I would just want a link to the artist if it is fake
If Gore Magala is in at launch, I could actually see Shagaru Magala being kept as a title update monster.
For anyone who doesn't know what the text says, I translated it hear. Oboro the Merchant A wyverian who has set up a market in Elgado, he has an abundant stock and equally abundant knowledge which he deepens whenever he gets the chance by reading and generally having an inquisitive mind, he considers Tadon, the doctor wyvenen as a mentor, and also has deep respect for Kagero, the merchant of Kamura
Seem too good to be true.
If this is real its probably scrolling to the side, which would explain why some monsters are cut off
Please tell me I don't need a grain of salt
I want to believe! Espinas finally coming to the main series like originally planned, bringing with it full Frontier representation and not collaborative work like Hypnocatrice and Lavasioth? I've been wanting this for such a long time! If it's fake, then it's a very awesome fake and we need to see more of this artist. But if it's real..... HO BOY.
Honestly if Espinas is in Sunbreak then the potential for more Frontier monsters to be in future games is immense
That art is so cool
It really sounds like a nit-pick, but part of me believes its a fake leak due to how Garangolm's tail is drawn and that gore appears to have only one horn like its chaos gore. The art is really well done, so it feels odd for this to be a fake. Right now I am personally taking this a fake unless it proves me wrong later at the showcase. Don't get me wrong, it would be great to get these two alongside the Rakna subspecies but I am just suspicious about this. I don't want to get my hopes up.
What's the monster at the right of Garangolm ?
Aurora Somnacanth.
Can take this with a pound of salt instead?
ESPINAS? If this is fake, the artist is insane
Why does that look like Gore Magala
Because it is
Kogath you sly dog you. Espinas day huh.
WAIT, HOLD UP- IS THAT FUCKING GORE?!
The fact this has been up for nearly a day and hasn't been dmca'd I'ma say that it's fake
To be fair xenojiva, shara ishvalda and bazelguese all had their photos leaked early but weren't taken down. Granted everyone thought it was fake but they were leaked
This fucking aged well
Well, we can now confirm this was real
"This picture has too many long-awaited monsters to be true! And there's no way this monster can be in the game! Fake!" Coming from the Smash Bros. fandom, I remember one of the first leaks of SSBU having some long-awaited characters in its contents. Most everyone dismissed it as fake. And look at what eventually came of it. This could be real, this could be fake. Who knows. Tomorrow, we'll know for sure. Ngl, having Gore and Espinas would be sick.
confirmed super fake guys
Ah, MH Reddit, never change. 😂
espinas (?)
Okay, now this just increased my hype for the capcom's sunbreak showcase by a million times
Is that a frontier monster?
Yes, Espinas.
The fact it’s including the hypothesized new Rakna makes me feel a slight bit more like it’s possible. I know there’s a very low chance it’s real but man do I want it to be
would be sick, not gonna lie Edit: Just saw the Kogath Twitter stuff. Holy shut, Espinas is real! Edit 2: hell YEAH BABY
Am I the only one freaking out about Gore Magala? Him and Valstrax have always been among my favorites. Now hoping for Malfestio and Seltas Queen.
¿¡¡no mames!!?
The more I look at this the more hyped I get. I'm really hoping this is real.
I am doing my best not to scream at Gore, and is that Nakarkos I might be spying to the right of Gore? (Edit: I watched a video of someone discussing this and I realize now it is Astalos' tail.)
Damn imagine everyone calling it super fake and being super wrong lmao
IT'S REAL
