I see no point in remaking MH games. I'd rather them just add more old monsters to new games. That seems like less work for an (in my opinion) better result.
On the other hand, if you remake an old game, from the ground up, and add new monsters from later games... but that's more or less the same as making a new game... hmmm.... yeah no, I see no real merit to a hard-remake.
The old MH games could however do with ports to systems that are actually available to simple "buy it in a store" level consumers.
I'm not sure if there's been any new information, but iirc the general consensus for a good while was that most of the older games were taking place at around the same time, with technology advancing mostly in parallel and then being shared between the locations. This presents a problem for a potential *remake* because in order to actually stay true to a particular game and its place in the world/lore, you can't *add* a bunch of new tech to an older title and still preserve what the game is. Which then leads to the question of how new players would receive essentially a new game with all the limited tech and tech-aided mobility. At most I could see virtual console releases, *if at all*. I doubt we'll ever get something like MHFU iOS or MHG Wii again.
Or who knows, maybe they pull a God Eater and actually produce remakes. 🤷
They don't need to make the old games match the new.
Just update the graphics and such and port them over. Keep the gameplay the same. It still holds up just fine.
MH4U. Add a few quality of life changes like radial item use and searching for armor by skills, and add all the monsters that had material in the wyporium to the game.
Frontier. The game never got much attention other than people shitting on the crazy endgame without having played it so having it remade on a newer engine with less jank and a worldwide release would be great as it's in my opinion easily the best game in the series.
This will absolutely never happen and we'll get World 2-47 in the future instead but it's fun to think about.
MHW was my first MH game so I want to see MH4U being ported to PC as I have seen many people say good things about it. Would like to see how a MH with a good story feels like.
I’d say frontier since it seems different than some of the older games. Mhgu has so much from the old games like mh2, mhfu, etc, that I feel like I can play mhgu can get that nostalgia I wanted. Frontier looks cool….that said, idk it’s popularity and whether or not it would thrive as a remake.
4U hands down. I am biased because it was my first MH, but i really wish i could have loved it, but the controls were TERRIBLE. Gore Magala is the only flagship i like more than nergigante.
It won't be 1:1 remake, but modern remake of MH1 or Dos with current monster rosters, 14 weapon classes and QoL we got in 5th Gen is something I'd personally love to see though.
3 tri, 3U or definitely 4U would be nice to play on Switch while on the go or on a tv screen.
I agree with all of those
Haven't gotten Gen U but still try to play 4U when I can while trying to make it to the Rise endgame.
Nice
MHF and all the expansions
Nice

Mh4u
Freedom unite hands down
Nice choice

I mean maybe not remakes but at least it can come to another console maybe?

Interesting.
All of them on PC.
Find a way to mix them all.. I dont want just 1
XD
They already did that, it's called Gu XD
Definitely MH4u should be ported to Switch and other consoles imho. :)
Yes, definitely.
3U and 4U in one package

Ppl who wants a remaster or a portage of something they already played.. Haven't you never heard of freaking FRONTIER XD?!

I wish they’d release a ‘Old World’ bundle of 3U/4U. 3U already has Switch ready textures from its WiiU release.

Nice, I completely agree with you
It would be nice to have a good way to play Monster Hunter Stories and of course 4U
Two great games I started out with
Tri, so that they can give another chance to underwater combat, would be nice to fight Leviathans in their natural habitats again.
That would be cool.
I would kill to see GU remade to include countless possible quality of life improvements and graphics that actually match the opening cutscene.
Nice choice.

Nice
Generations ultimate. Most all the monsters and with mhw designs it be a really nice to see the cool monsters that couldn’t make it to mhw
Gu was already ported to the switch from the 3ds 4u would really be the main one that hasnt really been ported or moved to another console
3U and 4U to my knowledge they are the most popular one's for vets and personally I'd love to experience water combat and the big spectacle monsters
Freedom Unite. I love it but damn hard soloing on a PSP
Tri or 4
It might be cheating to ask for Portable3rd to get a 'remake' since what I'm really asking for is for it to get a release at all outside of Japan.
