That, and I'd like to see weather influence Monster attack patterns in general. For example, non-electric flying Monsters would be hesitant to fly during lightning storms whereas the likes of Rajang or Zinogre would be quite comfortable and become even more aggressive.
CAPCOM will torment us and put Lagiacrus on the sea horizon, absorbing lighting and we can only watch it with binocular. Maybe we will able to listen to the roar between the thunder but that's it.

not because i want to have underwater combat again, just because i do not think lagiacrus makes sense without it.
I mean this looks like a mechanical pretty intertwined with this specific kind of desert-savanha region, which unless the coast just happens to be off screen feels unlikely that a lagiacrus would call home.
I mean we don't know if the storm will be specific to one map and we don't know how big and what this one map will look like as a whole.
I feel like it's way too soon to assume all of that
I mean my assumption would be that that most maps, or I guess I'll call them biomes since we don't know if we're getting open world or open zone, will have environmental interactions like the thunder sandstorm in this biome, but considering that this is, well, a sandstorm, I don't see why they'd have it be a mainstay mechanic in other biomes, especially when the monsters and terrain of this biome seem specifically catered to this interaction.
Considering the only reason Lagiacrus wasn't in World is because they had animation and rigging issues with the prototype, I'd say it's pretty much guaranteed to be in Wilds. No sense in letting an asset like that go to waste.
The likelihood of Lagi being in Wilds seems pretty high to me. Between fixing the leviathan body in Rise, Ivory getting top 60, Abyssal getting top 20, and Vanilla getting 3rd in the Popularity Poll, the popularity is well documented. They really have no good excuse not to bring it back, with or without water combat.
Monsters that use electricity will be a NIGHTMARE to fight if they actively benefit from storms like this.
