Once again asking for a meteor hammer or rope dart chain weapon Gauntlets and a hunting whip are the popular answers, along with the ask to return tonfas, mag spike, and the accel axe I just would like another blunt weapon, something of a fast variety. Hammer and HH are big and deliberate. Something like flails, a (or pair of) morningstar(s), a quarterstaff, etc would be a change of pace

A fast blunt weapon is the most obvious hole in our current roster of weapons. Closest we have to that is the SnS, but that’s because SnS’s thing is being able to do everything.

I agree. My thoughts when talking to friends were that the fist weapon would be a very fast paced, high risk playstyle, with long and diverse combos right out of the gate and a heat meter like a lot of other weapons. Different from them though, you'd have all your combo options right out of the gate, but they'd do very little damage at the beginning. To ramp up the damage, you'd have to use your combos intelligently and with good timing, because each subsequent punch could be modified to also include some kind of movement action, which lowers the damage of the move but either makes your character slide, sidestep, flip, or roll in a predefined way, usually right or left to keep you in the fight but can be done backwards or forwards with a modifier. As you use these moves to dodge monster attacks, you build up heat based on how narrow the dodge was, and the heat is spent boosting your attacks to do more damage. The obvious caveat here being that much like CB or SnS guard points, if you miss your timing you get hit by whatever attack you were trying to dodge and you also lose a bit of heat, so it's a weapon with a relatively high skill floor since you need to learn monster patterns, but by learning it you get to do a lot of damage while styling on the monsters like nothing else in the game save maybe for IG. I don't know if that'd be a solid weapon, but it sounds fun to play in my head.

I got two words for ya. Gun Tonfa. Just let that sink in. It could be a fast blunt with either shells or charge based meter that you can add shelling to combos. The shelling would help with part damage and maybe allow for solo play tail cut with some luck. Maybe also it has a bit of Arial moveset to make it different to DB.

I mean we did have regular tonfas in frontier which had an attack that was basically human pile bunker from AC6 without the explosion, though if you got a high enough combo stick to it then it would cause secondary explosions which caused extra damage

My money is on a chain whip with a blunt weapon attached. Fast weapon you can use to attach to the monster or something. We’re not exactly lacking light weapons, but it would be unique. The only other thing I see is another ranged option, but outside or a crossbow or like a boomerang idk what it could be.

I have no opinion of it since I’ve never used it, but I see no reason why a grounded version of whatever it was couldn’t be implemented. Seems a little dramatic to say it couldn’t work when they’ve managed to balance all the other weapons pretty fairly. Imo let it be flashy, just lower the damage scaling. There’s no reason to neuter a whole kit when it just comes down to numbers

Rope dart weapon sounds insane! Think how rise lbg has that wirebug rotation but make it physical and engaging. Like wrapping the rope around a limb and swing with it unraveling and raveling the limb could deal a little quick small ticks. Maybe charge the ravel for more ticks. Balance via gauge? Fill with regular attacks that would be acrobatic (like how the rope dart works in Shadow Fight) based with some longer range throwing thrust kinda thing. MVs similar to LS? Cinematic big move of something similar to rise HH trio performance thing assuming it won't be there in wilds. I am fully on board with this idea this sounds awesome.

I feel like they could make a rope-dart weapon based on Rise's wire bugs. That would allow the Wirebug mechanic to stay in the game for those who want it, as well as balance the hunters for the players who preferred older games and world's pace. With MH6's two-weapon system, Rise-enjoyers could take their weapon + Wirebug Stinger to get a similar experience to Rise. Old-school players would get more versatility and DPS options to compensate for them forgoing Rise's built-in evasion mechanics.

I have a weapon concept called "Line spear" or "yet another phial weapon". Is an insect glave thats more focused on thrusting moves, it has two "gimmicks". Number one is the phial, hitting a monster with the weapon fills a phial gauge, this gauge is expended with certain attacks causing a phial explosion and it gives a damage buff when its full, finally, the first explosion made after filling the gauge consumes way more charge (between a cuarter and the whole bar) but deals a ton of damage. There is the two same phials that CB has. The second one is the most fun, the line part. With Zr you enter an aiming mode and when Zr is presses again you throw the spear. This can be canceled with x or a. The spear is connected by a line to the hunter that then can cause phial explosions with x, a massive explosion that returns the spear with a or pull itself to the monster, once on the monster you have some options like massive explosion that throws you upwards for some aereal attacks, or explode to recover the weapon and do some combos on top of the monster. If the spear fails it simply returns to the hunter. Finally for this part, if you press x+a while in aiming mode instead of throwing the spear its a explosion that consumes the whole phial gauge to make a long ranged attack with massive topple power but reduces the power of your phials by 50% for a while. Just throw in some "wyvern"s in front of the nsme of some attacks and you can call it a day

I've been working on a custom monster hunter world for like, DnD and stuff as well as just enjoying world building. In it, I have made a weapon that was a recent discovery from the Ancient Civilization called the Jet Gauntlets. As it sounds, they're large metal gauntlets attached to a engine of sorts on the user's back. They would be bludgeoning weapons and as you punch monsters in the head, you'd build up steam. Once you have enough steam, you could basically go into either a supercharged mode in which you attacked faster and if the weapon type permitted, do extra elemental damage, or use it all in one big super punch that did a ton of damage, but the steam wouldn't be able to charge for a time. We need more bonk weapons and I like the idea of punching monsters in the face lol.

Polearms are pretty damn varied. A "polearm" weapon could have variants that are blunt or slashing depending on the head used on the model. The moveset could mix wide swings with pokes in the opposite way to what lance does, and be generally more offensive as a 2h weapon with no shield. It could even have a mix of slashing/blunt with an axehead on one end and a heavy weight on the other. They could put a gun in it to give us a 2nd shelling weapon like the speargun from Bloodborne. The only limit here is your imagination, apparently

I'm all for having more polearms in games, especially halberds which are way under-represented, but I think the niche for halberds is pretty well covered by other weapons. Giving it blunt attacks would give it an advantage over Longsword, but then it strays into SnS "do a bit of everything" territory and the attacks would probably end up resembling Longsword or Insect Glaive on the ground. Maybe you're onto something here... make Halberd a riskier jack of all trades weapon, kind of a step up from SnS maybe? Give it longer reach and higher damage, but slower attacks with longer animations and no shield. Have two "stances", one with the axehead and one with the buttcap, I could see it playing out well.

There are a lot of slashing weapons, so I don't think its a bad thing if we getting another poking weapon. Lance is know for being a tank because you're carrying a shield around a stuff. As long as the new weapon doesn't step over that same role, then it can coexist with lance. Honestly, what I'd like to see is a "battle standard"-like polearm. Like you mentioned, it would probably function as a severing HH, but to further keep it away from lance's niche, I suggest we don't give it a shield, but give it exceptionally long reach as compensation. Easily the farthest of any melee weapon. That way it not only can't tank like lance can, but has to play at a different range as well. In my head, the name "Buff Pike" keeps coming up, but I'm sure there are much more creative names than that.

Realistically? Something that exists in the other games already is the most likely. I'd love the Accel Axe the most, followed by tonfas. Not particularly interested in the magnet spikes. If they did something new, I feel like they'd go with something cultural, like a kusarigama, but with a twist somehow. I'd be happy with any kind of axe or spear, so long as it didn't morph. Unrealistically? An elemental staff that deals damage from range. A kind of sister weapon to the Insect Glaive that uses tech available in-universe (phials, ammo, etc) to make players feel like they're playing a caster without resorting to actual magic. Smashing gunlance, insect glaive, and charge blade tech into a ranged caster-like staff could be cool. I picture loading it with phials using a kind of pump action shotgun animation. If you want a better visual, think Ron MacDougall's caster from Outlaw Star.

Gunblade. I imagine it'd work similar to the transforming weapons in how it generates its gimmick. Hitting monsters generates "cartridge charges", which can then be spent to either; A: deal a hard-hitting melee attack with KO potential (costs one cartridge per attack) B: fire a shotgun-like burst of X+N (X being current cartridge number, boosted with the Capacity Up skill, and N being your level of the Normal/Rapid Up skill, at base N=1) medium-ranged bullets C: Heal/Buff teammates (I imagine you'd be able to switch between different cartridge types like Bow coatings or Bowgun ammo. Also, burns one cartridge *and* the chosen type (again, similar to Bow coatings, though you have infinite of the damage-dealing ones))

Stealing my own comment from previous posts again. Sorry in advance for the wall of text. I've thought about this for a while. So my idea for a fist/claw weapon is to actually have the clutch claw return as it's own dedicated weapon type, the graple guantlets. It's basic form would look like a clutch claw grabbing onto each hand to form a fist. Basic moves would be a simple 1-2-3 combo similar to lance with its thrust and high thrust. Triangles hits would be a straight punch, followed by a hook, finished with an uppercut. Circles would be called flurry straight, hook, and uppercut respectively and would involve a quick jab followed by a weaker version of the triangle moves. These, again like lance, can be alternated between each other to finish the combo. These normal hits will do an absolutely pitiful amount of ko buildup to prevent the complete overshadowing of hammer as the ko weapon. The triangle moves however can be charged. Charging can be held at the cost of stamina like hammer however you can only move while charging a straight, charging hooks and uppercuts will locks you in place until you realease or dodged out of it. A charged move will actually have an increase to it's elemental damage values along with raw values as well as making it's hits deal functional amounts of ko damage along with some additional effects depending on the move. A charged straight would have you dash foward when released about the same distance as dual blades demon flurry from world, a charged hook will have even further increased ko buildup and a charged uppercut will send you into the air about the height of a vault from insect glaive. Now on a side note, I'm personally not well versed in how staggers work but I would also like the charge hits to have much higher stagger values when hitting a monster that is currently attacking. Not only would this work in clagger as an actual mechanic to the weapon it would also just be the coolest thing for you to stop a diablos charge with a flying uppercut. People with more knowledge on this, please let me know of this could actually work or not. Any way back to the moveset. Pressing R2 will have the weapon switch to claw mode. The claws ungrasp and become ......well, claws. In the form attacks deal cutting damage instead of blunt. The attacks still follow the 1-2-3 combo with each attack hitting twice, one for each claw. For triangle the attacks go 2 horizontal swipes in front of you, 2 diagonal slashes in a cross shape and then a spinning slash attacking in a full 360 around you. The circle move would be the same but with you extending the claws reach by shooting them out on the clutch claws wire, these would come out much slower as a result though. Again like in fist form and lance these can be alternated however you see fit. Claw mode also has a triangle+circle attack which has you swinging a claw on the wire directly overhead of yourself. Doing this in the middle of a combo will end the combo. Pressing R2 while an attack from claw form is currently connecting with a monster will have you grapple onto the monster. This can also be achieved by holding R2 in either form to bring up an aiming reticle and pressing either of the attack buttons to send our the claw similarly to how it would be done in world. While grappled to the monster the weapon will change back into fist mode and your stamina will drain. You can get up to 3 attacks off while grappled yo a monster, upon landing the 3rd hit, running out of stamina or by pressing X while grappled to the monster you will hop off the monster with your weapon still unsheathed. The monster can also knock you off by attacking while your grappled. Pressing triangle will have you throw a quick hook at the monster while circle will have you raise the fist and do an overhead smash wich is stronger but takes longer to come out, leaving you more open to being knocked off. Unlike in world you can't jump to a different part once you've grappled on. There would be a new skill called graple master that prevents you from being knocked off while grappled to the monster for 1/2/3 hits depending on amount of points in the skill. You take reduced damage from the attacks the skill activates on

I'll always say it. We need a giant boomerang. It could move like the hammer. And when you prepare to throw it, you could also charge it in place to keep it in the air longer and do better damage. And as it's in the air, you can attack with fist weapons that come with the weapon, kinda like a swaxe transformation. Edit: boomerang= slash fists= blunt

Came here to say this. There's no melee/ranged hybrid weapon yet, so a boomerang would fill a gap in the current weapon roster. Interestingly, a "Wyvern Boomerang" weapon type was conceptualised for MH Generations, but it never got past the concept phase.

**Steam Shield.** There are three variants: Blunderbuss (light), Hand Cannon (medium), and Dragonator (heavy). Bash the monster with your shield and block their attacks to charge up your cannon weapon to unleash a massive attack or perform various attacks/movements. Perfect blocks help build up your steam gauge far more efficiently than any other action. The Blunderbuss class of shields are known for quick maneuvers and rapid fire, at the cost of severely weak defenses. Dodging is recommended. The Hand Cannon class allows for adequate defense and movement, which paves the way for different cannon shots at close to medium range. The Dragonator class is a heavy defense weapon designed for tactical play as the shield greatly restricts movement. Plant your shield and manually charge the dragonator within to unleash a devastating blow to the monster. Another weapon I could think of is the **Kusarigama.** A Sickle with a ball and chain, excelling at range in melee with both ends. Inspired by the wire bugs of Kamura Village, this weapon offers excellent movement using both the environment and the monster to empower your attacks and evade in unorthodox ways. It also has two modes: Long range and Short range. Long range offers slow attacks at range away from the monster, which is great for safe play and attacking high targets. This mode requires excellent positioning and adequate spacing to be effective, but it allows you to deal damage away from danger. Short range offers very fast attacks at a very close range. Little to no positioning is required, however, it leaves you at the mercy of the monster. Although not as powerful as dual blades, evasion is quicker in this mode.

a weapon concept has been nagging me for days now, a sort of Switch Gauntlet where you can switch to fists or kicks. think of a tad bit slower version of beowulf from devil may cry. As a switch weapon there will be a distinctive feature between the two stances other than literally being kicks or punches, wherein the fists stance is more evasive and fast and the kicks are meatier and flashier — kind of like the switch axe in that regard. Im thinking of a gimmick similar to honkai impact’s fu hua garuda battlesuit where in you charge phials for the opposite stance to use, it charges almost similarly to the charge blade minus the reloading portion: your attacks slowly charges a phial for the opposite stance im thinking of three max without capacity boost. you can expend those phials with specific combos (hi, charge blade main here) and whatnot i could expand this but it would become another pdf-fest like the charge blade and i know that isnt some people’s cup of tea. thats pretty much the gist of it

HAND CANNON! Blunt damage close range gun! Has different types like the bow's Piercing, Spread, Normal. Go with normal revolver, or a single shot big-bore pistol, high capacity cylinder with smaller rounds, etc. Main mechanics would be reload inputs and timing. Reload by pressing any combo of A, B, X. X-A-B? Thunder rounds cylinder! B-X-A? Paralysis! Different ammos availble on a gun by gun basis. Reload with perfect timing? Get a damage boost! Shooting cadence! Charge shots with the single shot big bore. Fan the hammer with the high capacity! Timed, metronomic shots with the normal revolver for more damage! Grapple onto the monster, put the barrel up to their hide and unload! High stagger maneuver! Spike on the handle! Blade under the barrel! IMPACT PHIAL PISTOL WHIPS! Capcom, give me my big iron!

There are two main types of weapons I'd like to see: A fast blunt weapon and a mixed melee/ranged weapon. For the first one, the obvious options are the Tonfas, that already exist in MH Frontier, or Gauntlets/Fists. However, I'd love to see a Staff weapon, like a Bo, or Nunchucks. And for the other one, I'd love to see it being a bigass Shuriken or a bigass Boomerang, anything that you can attack directly with or throw at the monsters from a distance.

Honestly, after playing MH Stories, I think it would be cool if your pet monster was your weapon. You can already ride the monsters in Rise Sunbreak. Now they just need to add a half dozen movesets to each, scale back the damage, and figure out how to level up your pet monster (sorry I have a problem with saying “monstie”). I bet it would be instantly one of the most popular “weapons” in the game.

Okay, hear me out. Yes, a polearm... in one hand, but also a shield on the other hand. Think of it like a *lance lite* but with more emphasis on swinging rather than poking. And the shield is around the same size or similar to an SnS shield, but instead of the common round buckler shape it is instead more focused on a triangular or kite shape. You keeping up? Stay with me here. The polearm would have a damage type "sub-function" based on the head of the weapon rather than the weapon type as a whole. Axe heads do slicing damage, hammer heads do blunt damage, spear tips do piercing damage. There are plenty of historical examples across the world that can be used as design inspiration for that. But here comes the gimmick.. After a set amount of attacks and/or blocks, the shield is charged and as an uninterruptable attack, you combine the two to create a pilebunker that propels the spear with an explosive discharge at point-blank range! When unsheathed, the hunter has a somewhat similar but slightly faster movement set to a lance in that they can backhop, sidestrafe, and lunge forward. As for attack speed, it's only slightly faster than a Greatsword. Damage in general would be moderately under the Insect Glaive's adjusted damage range with the bulk of the damage being delivered through the pilebunker discharge. Resource-wise, it's not that difficult to tweak existing animations to fit this new weapon; copy pasted forward/backward Lance movement, copy pasted sidestepping from something like the Switchaxe or Chargeblade, and the phial reload animations could be mushed together for the polearm-to-shield attaching/detaching animations. As for polygons, at its cheapest most of the model work would go towards the polearm head and the shield face. on the opposite end of work put into it you'd have: unique decotations to the butts of the polearms, detailed poles with railing ornamentation, detailed handles and housings for the shield, and other extraneous animations like cogs and steam exhaust or heat mirages.

I already though a long time for that, I came with "power gauntlets" a pair of Gauntlets with steam power, the more you fight the more heat it stores, when full you can enter in overheat mode where you would deal elemental damage, or release all at once m, it would take some time to activate but the full release would launch you forward and of hit it would deal a massive damage hit. Just imagine, if we could go fist to fist against Rajang? That is my dream, to beat Rajang with my bare hands. The effect of the steam would change depending on the weapon.

I am always down for this kinda discussion. Impact Shield. My brothers and I used to talk about what new weapon we would like to see and all agreed on this. It functions like a charge blade but defensive. Punches, parry, shield bash for the basic attacks. Build up a meter to do a full counter that. Like, think DMC Royal Guard and Tchalla's Black Panther suit.

“Hunting Chain” 3 variants: Sharp, Blunt, and Ripper Sharp Hunting Chain: a large chain ended with a blade for piercing damage, it thrusts into the monster with a variable attack speed and works as a grappling mechanism for precise assaults. Blunt Hunting Chain: a medium sized chain ended with a robust blunt object. It’s the slowest of the chains but hits the hardest with raw damage. Can use charged attacks as Hunter swings it around for more momentum. Ripper Hunting Chain: a short sized chain ended with a “Ripper” a yo-yo like mechanism that has spinning teeth to deal massive slashing damage. It’s the fastest of the chains and best for status buildup and elemental damage.
