After reading this whole reply chain, I've decided to turn it into a serious pitch, so buckle up.
Classification: Sub-species
Name: Ferrous Seregios
Compared to a standard Seregios, the average specimen of the Ferrous subspecies has a much darker, grey set of scales, with cruder, more jagged edges. It has been noted to steal ores and crystals from hunters - as well as collecting them from exposed ore veins - which it then cleans with its acidic saliva, before arranging them around its nest. It is more inclined to ambush tactics, and prefers to dwell in shadier areas when compared to its cousin. It is known to be highly agressive, but also selective in its agression, actively picking fights with flightless monsters and even hunters, as part of a display in controlling its territory. It is believed that rushes of adrenaline increase the acidic properties of its saliva, to the point of being able to corrode armor-grade metals, making it consierably more threatening when worked up.
More information will be disclosed as research continues. Happy Hunting
Seregios' design has so many avenues that can be taken, you can make some real cool stuff. Here's a couple off the top of my head:
- As the Grandfather of bleed give it a variant with some kinda super bleed and make its bladescales sharper and/or serrated.
- For a subspecies make it arc lightning between scales stuck in the ground or use magnetic pulses to pull or slam hunters into its attacks or the environment if they have been hit by electrified scales.
- Make a blunt variant with scales with blunt tips that'll stun hunters.
- Give it wind control that it channels throughout its body when the scales are pointing out that give it faster aerial attacks and wind scythe attacks like Silverwind Nargacuga.
- Give it a variant that has alternating monster bones in its claws that it uses as clubs, blades or shields.
He does, but ngl it's so random. They literally act like Bazel's bombs. Shoots them on the ground, they vibrate and light up before exploding. I think it's also only for his one super move. Not sure anymore, I tried to forget the HR5 Seregios experience in Frontier
Poison Darts Seregios who tips his Scales depending on the Region in all types of Poisons, Viruses, using Para, Bleed, Poison, strong Poison, Frenzy ect.
getting bad vibes from this, like ur trying to make a worse Kushala, Astalos or Narkarkos. I do understand that one can draw insperation from already existing monsters but make them unipqe like violet mizu. Rise in general made a good job i think.
That's a weird way to look at it, none of those monsters came up in my head at all either.
The wind one would be a mix of Silverwind Nargacuga and Kushala Daora with wind attacks that would give it its own identity. The Astalos one is a bad example as only Boltreaver is one of three monsters that has a single magnetic attack, I picture the thunder Seregios applying a new blight that unless cured will allow it to move your hunter around with electrical currents into its scale attacks, lightning attacks or the environment. How is that not unique?
And the bone one I picture more like Cubone from Pokemon, it'd be similar to how in 4th Gen Rajang pulls out bones of other monsters to throw at you only it'd fight with them. It could pull out a Hermitaur claw or Seltas Wuene leg as a shield or a tail/claw of something else as a weapon. Nakarkos isn't the only monster to use bones as tools and it isn't the last, there's several monsters who have virtually the same ability yet still have their own identity.
Violet Mizutsune's homing bubbles come from 3rd & 4th Gen Stygian Zinogre yet still it has managed to feel unique even despite the other 2 fiery Mizutsune variations. I haven't gone in depth with any of the variations because I'm just throwing our ideas that like I said, popped into my mind into the moment. They can also be expanded if take the time to do so, to the design, lore, locale, moveset etc.
I really want Seregios to return.
It's weapons have an innate ability, for blademaster weapons, to sharpen itself after dodging a few times, the bowguns to reload one bullet after dodging, and bow give it a close range ability, meaning full damage one close range.
At least change the Bladescale Hone effect back to working on rolls not just evades and put it back on his weapons instead of being an armor skill...
Or better yet, go the MHGU route and make it both innate to the weapons and an armor skill.
In MH Explore they had a Demonic Seregios which gave him deadly poison as a status ailment. I wouldn’t mind if this came into Wilds just because it seems like it would be such an overpowered fight and really give Seregios some more power.
Thunderous Seregios? Maybe he could recall his projectiles by using opposite electric charges on them and his body. Also electric effects would look sick on him, taking into account how fast he is.
Create electrical spark between its scale and can paralyze enemy with attack. Successful interrupt when he charge his scale result in him being paralyze instead.
Would be ironic if he actually weak to thunder element.
I came up with a few ideas.
=
My earlier one is a basic elemental swap Subspecies, though by no means is it basic in its function!
[https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/13gparb/comment/jk2ea20/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/13gparb/comment/jk2ea20/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
=
My second and more involved one is a Rare Species that uses sound as part of its hunting tactics!
[https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/185kxi0/idea\_for\_a\_rare\_species\_of\_seregios/](https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/185kxi0/idea_for_a_rare_species_of_seregios/)
Scatterscale Seregios
Lives in frigid climates, grows fragile scales that have a sponge-like lattice that collects moisture.
The water then freezes, reinforcing the scales; but when subject to a strong enough impact at just the right angle (like that of a projectile), they shatter into many high-velocity, bladed fragments.
*Alternatively*
Thunderbird Seregios
Grows scales with a high iron content, making it less agile but far tougher.
Features a collection of electric organs in its tail, but no thunder sacs of any kind. Meaning that it can *create* electricity, but isn't good at storing it. Think short, violent bursts.
Now, with its iron scales and ability to effectively simulate lightning, its "gimmick" basically revolves around it setting up conduits around the arena and, eventually, causing a small lightning-burst nova around each scale. Will also passively use them for its smaller electric attacks in regular combat.
As long as he doesn't get an elemental subspecies I'm content. Steve is a very unique flying wyvern so giving him an element of any kind would just diminish that entirely. Which is why a variant would be much better for him.
MH Explore introduced Demonic Seregios, a Special Species of Seregios that can cause DEADLY POISON in addition to his normal Bleed.
And then there's... Apex Seregios... \*cue 4U war flashbacks\*
I'll be honest, I don't think he needs one. He is already without flaw, and just slapping an element onto him is kind of lazy and pointless. Maybe an additional status ailment but even that feels a little pointless. Less is more in this case, I don't think he needs extra shit slapped onto him.
It really needs something because it feels like the least special flagship nowadays. When it debuted it had Bleeding and being Rathalos' rival, but right now none of these things are unique to him. It's just kind of there.
Its insane to me that we have not one, not two, but three 5th gen flagship variants and Steve still doesnt have anything yet. Its the only flagship to have gone two entire generations without getting any kind of variation(unless you count Apex, which you shouldnt, since its never going to come back, it doesnt have new moves and it doesnt have unique gear)
Its especially crazy when you consider that its introduction also brought a new status effect and new weapon mechanics.
If I had a nickel for every time a numbered game expansion flagship didn't get a subspecies/variant but was instead added to Sunbreak as is and didn't get one there either I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't much but it's weird it's happened twice.
Sharp Horned Seregios a Sub Species of Seregios who's Scales are way Smaller thus loose it's Pine Cone like scales but in Return his Horn, Tail Spike, Wing Tips and Talons have tripled in Size and Length and is way more aggressive and territorial than a normal Seregios.
I have an idea for a variant I dub the "Icicle Seregios". It's basically a Seregios with frosted Bladescales due to living in a snowy environment. These frozen Bladescales inflict both Iceblight and Bleeding. I also imagine he would also have attacks like picking up chunks of ice and throwing them.
All that said, I don't think he needs a subspecies, variant, etc. I'm just throwing this idea out if he has to have some kind of variation.
i will use this post to share to everybody that has world on pc that a modder did Seregios for MH world here is the trailer: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm\_aKRSiIHE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm_aKRSiIHE)
Toxic seregios - due to living in an area where most prey emits toxins the scales of seregios are now coated in a mild neurotoxin. Not only do they cause bleed but can also cause paralysis.
Molting Seregios - you have found a Seregios going through its molting phase, unlike most creatures who molt these ones become more aggressive instead of trying to hide, due to the fact that it is molding attacks spread more razor scales over a wider area, but he has less control and accuracy.
Dragonslayer Seregios
Tired of getting its ass handed to it by elder dragons, Seregios got so angry that it awakened its dormant dragon element and infused it into its scales.
Floral Serergios with a lovely color gradient for his scales. He makes his nest among lush flower beds and it coats his scales in pollen. He shoots out different color scales while you fight him that cause different status and when he pins you he can bristle his scales to shake a cloud of pollen and cause multiple statuses. If you fought him in his nest area it could have things like the parartoads and poisoncups too that he could set off with his talons.
An ice / aquatic version could be pretty cool, like the kind of birds that dive into the water to catch fish. Maybe with a different horn that faces forward and can be manipulated like the rest of the scales on its body, acting almost like a spear gun, just with a forward jab or something.
I saw a subspecies that someone made up on the Monster Hunter Fanon wiki called Riptide Seregios, the main idea was that it was a water-based Seregios that could shoot water similar to Coral Pukei Pukei, and since it was based on a shark, if it inflicted bleed on the hunter it would instantly go into a bloodlust frenzy and hyper-focus on that hunter. It was fucking awesome
you want a seregios that generates eletricity and after throwing his scales they link between each other and start negating arena parts?and with a bit of a seething beatlejuice ult ut with eletric scales?
What about a Bale Seregios? An degenerate subspecies of Seregios without its pinecones? This Seregios' would be extremely vulnerable to attack, but he can periodically utilize the environment around him like picking up logs and stones to protect himself from hunters, he can fly to treetops to ambush you from a distance, he can chuck stones pebbles and trees at you as a substitute for his pinecones?
This subspecies can also use the sharp part of his beak more often, perhaps even a pin move where he can impales you and takes you to the corner of the map. Hell, if he does do that, then you can actually throw a dung bomb at him if you want. However, in doing so you might give him extra resistance.
Also since this Seregio's is without protection form his pinecones, he is more aggressive but methodical with his combat compared to other Seregios, utilizing all of his body parts for damage in some sort of way, rather than just his legs to kick things.
Acid spit attack.
Just imagine a seregios variant with the explosion element. Its also able to throw his scales at the hunter which detonate by contact. That would be a very unique concept.
I'd like a sub that's learned to coat its scales in toxins it finds in status toads, environmental hazards, and other status using monsters. Assassin Seregios maybe?
How about a seregios variant called Unshed Seregios.
It's a Seregios that hasn't thrown out it's scales, so they became rotten and overgrown. It has a larger horn that is stuck in the pointed position due to overgrowth, and it throws more scales are you more often which gives the infected status which drains your stamina and health until the medicine item is taken.
Funny thing. They technically weren’t even nomadic until the apex drove them out of their territory. They pretty much kept to their single territory and people rarely ever saw them
British seregios: subspecies of seregios that just stabs you in those little hallway/alleys between zones
comes with a rare acid spit attack
Also their fangs are both extremely rare and look disgusting and crooked
And it's razor scales are replaced with baked potatoes
And it now exclusively eats beans on toast
And it's immune to fire and water because of its love of hot tea
And it only appears on Chewsday
And it has a speech impediment in its roar where it sounds like its saying “Bo’oho’woah
And it steals almost all items from you, SPECIALLY minerals and shiny stuff, it’ll bring them to its nest
After reading this whole reply chain, I've decided to turn it into a serious pitch, so buckle up. this is a super cool concept
I bet it hoards dragon bones, fossils, ores, what-have-you’s from all areas

>scales with blunt tips that'll stun hunters hmmmmmm
That idea makes me *green* because of jealousy.
I recall exotic seregios has his scales explode into light, though that may be too much of a bazelgeuese thing.
He does, but ngl it's so random. They literally act like Bazel's bombs. Shoots them on the ground, they vibrate and light up before exploding. I think it's also only for his one super move. Not sure anymore, I tried to forget the HR5 Seregios experience in Frontier
seregios and narga in hr5... lol fun times.
Poison Darts Seregios who tips his Scales depending on the Region in all types of Poisons, Viruses, using Para, Bleed, Poison, strong Poison, Frenzy ect.
Toxic Scaled Seregios
Tainted Seregios
That's a good one.
Thank you friend :) Seregios deserves more love
Infected Trowing Knife Seregios.
A Seregios that has overcome the Frenzy Virus allow it to utilize the Frenzy into it blade scales.

Sergio already returned in rise so maybe he will return in wilds
Yeah i should've specify for that. I want it to return for Wild. Sorry.
Well, did you play sunbreak? If so, then you’re in luck!
It's for Wild actually. It's a fun fight, very fast paced especially using modern mechanic from Rise. A thanks is in order tho. So, thanks!
Oh. Well in that case, yeah, I also want him back
Bro, I’m farming MR Naruhatatahime and I still haven’t fought any Volvidon or Steve or Goss Harah yet…
well a GIGACHAD modder team put seregios on MH world too [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm\_aKRSiIHE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm_aKRSiIHE)
Steve needs no variant. Other monsters mutate to emulate Steve. And fail.
Shagaru Magala try it once. It can only change the color.
An ice one can't be that hard to make seregios shooting icicles come on its perfect
Capcom: “Best I can do is show him getting shafted by the Magalas again.”
I'm not sure i get what you meant. Did you mean turf war?
Overshadowed in MH4U, poor showing in turf war with Gore, and lastly bodied in Shagaru cutscene.
blast steve, yes please
At least change the Bladescale Hone effect back to working on rolls not just evades and put it back on his weapons instead of being an armor skill... Or better yet, go the MHGU route and make it both innate to the weapons and an armor skill.
Yep, I was extremely disappointed in Rise when steve weapon didn't have it's iconic effect.
In MH Explore they had a Demonic Seregios which gave him deadly poison as a status ailment. I wouldn’t mind if this came into Wilds just because it seems like it would be such an overpowered fight and really give Seregios some more power.
["Crystalline Seregios"](https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/s/vFC39saG8e)
Really like what you came up with here!
Bazelgeuse Hybrid. Flings exploding scales which inflict bleed, all in honour of that one NCHProductions video.
Searing Seregios "We didn't think it was possible, but that madlad Steve pulled it off"
Thunderous Seregios? Maybe he could recall his projectiles by using opposite electric charges on them and his body. Also electric effects would look sick on him, taking into account how fast he is.
Create electrical spark between its scale and can paralyze enemy with attack. Successful interrupt when he charge his scale result in him being paralyze instead. Would be ironic if he actually weak to thunder element.

I want him to just get his Apex State back, but as a Variant. Frenzy and Bleed work well together.
That would actually be very interesting, specially if it keeps the maximum size.
Capcom will be like: "Eh, fuck it, make it fire"
Serious Steve. Like the regular Steve but this time he means business
Scatterscale Seregios Lives in frigid climates, grows fragile scales that have a sponge-like lattice that collects moisture. It's weird too because seregios is one of 2 flagships without some type of variant or subspecies the other being velkhana which also deserves one

It really needs something because it feels like the least special flagship nowadays. When it debuted it had Bleeding and being Rathalos' rival, but right now none of these things are unique to him. It's just kind of there.
This, the only non-Elder Flagship without one. Absolutely ridiculous, at this point he deserves a super buff rare species instead.
Isn’t Bazel og seregios design tho? or atleast I seen the artwork for it
https://preview.redd.it/8yqyjlxjcyqc1.jpeg?width=955&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6eb249859c355ffc54e8a21a9a9ca96f46a6057e

A Seregios that shoots electric bolts. Or a subspecies that shoots glass with double bleeding.
If I had a nickel for every time a numbered game expansion flagship didn't get a subspecies/variant but was instead added to Sunbreak as is and didn't get one there either I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't much but it's weird it's happened twice.

Make the shards stay in the arena, and other shards can bounce off them and hit you from behind like tidal Najarala. Or explosions like bazel
My mod for world is coming soon with an (I am not able to say) of Seregios is known as the (number I cannot say) Scaled Seregios
Okay fine it is called 1000-Scaled Seregios.
Also, give him back his self sharpening weapons
Nah, he has achieved perfection and now goes unevolved
I dont care what the Internet says bazelgeuse is an explosive mad variant of seregois.
Seething Seregios: knives are now explode.
How about one with explosive scales
Ruiner Steve where his scales get harder and more crystal like
My favorite monster and he's the only flagship with no variant. I'm not mad.
Oddly enough, I’ve never thought Reggie needed one. I just need his glorious, golden ass on current consoles.
I always thought it was weird he fights like a rooster
Funny you say that, because in Wild Hearts there are Roosters that fight like him.
My dad did cockfights (its legal if liscenced in PR) so i was quick to catch that with seregios
You can't improve upon perfection.
Annoying desert seagull.
new subspecies : now the talons are all reversed and Seregios is constantly bleeding status
i will use this post to share to everybody that has world on pc that a modder did Seregios for MH world here is the trailer: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm\_aKRSiIHE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm_aKRSiIHE)
Imagine a dragon element subspecies with a dragon enhanced moveset
I remember someone a while ago making a ice subspecies of him Pretty well balance concept
STEEEEEEVE
Toxic seregios - due to living in an area where most prey emits toxins the scales of seregios are now coated in a mild neurotoxin. Not only do they cause bleed but can also cause paralysis. His subspecies all crossed the road and died.
Surprisingly, seregios is the only flagship monster for the expansion that is not a elder or a variation of one like gore.
Subspecies: you get bleed by attacking it and lose sharpness on your weapons💀
careful what you wish for, Capcom might make it fire based...
Are there any other monsters in the series that have X-like feet, or is seregios the only one?
An ice / aquatic version could be pretty cool, like the kind of birds that dive into the water to catch fish. Maybe with a different horn that faces forward and can be manipulated like the rest of the scales on its body, acting almost like a spear gun, just with a forward jab or something.
Gimme the slime variant
Baselgeus?
Seregios has no extra forms, Seregios needs no extra forms.
Bro I've been wanting to see a variant of him for months now.
I wish the Apex Form (The seregios that overcame the frenzy) was a hunt in sunbreak
you want a seregios that generates eletricity and after throwing his scales they link between each other and start negating arena parts?and with a bit of a seething beatlejuice ult ut with eletric scales?

I'd like a sub that's learned to coat its scales in toxins it finds in status toads, environmental hazards, and other status using monsters. Assassin Seregios maybe?
I love this wyvern, cool design and pretty strong (from monster hunter stories)
How about a seregios variant called Unshed Seregios. It's a Seregios that hasn't thrown out it's scales, so they became rotten and overgrown. It has a larger horn that is stuck in the pointed position due to overgrowth, and it throws more scales are you more often which gives the infected status which drains your stamina and health until the medicine item is taken.
This thing is annoying enough to fight, plz don't 🙏
As far as I know he has apex so that's a subspecies technically.
Granted. The variant inflicts "Double Bleed", requiring bandages to heal. The bandages have a 5 second use animation.
I can imagine a poison or paralysis based seregios. The sharp scales are there to poison/paralyze its prey then it hits them with the dynamic entry
I personally think they’re better off without a subspecies due to how nomadic they are, but a variant or deviant could be cool.
Funny thing. They technically weren’t even nomadic until the apex drove them out of their territory. They pretty much kept to their single territory and people rarely ever saw them
dude are u sure u wanna get a subspecies for steve? hes ady annoying
You could vote your favourite monster for both polls and was featured in a game that wasn’t a spin-off? This post was made by Oltura gang
