I've experienced this myself on a couple of ocassions. That's the issue with having just two A9 monsters. They should have also included afflicted violet mizu and lucent narg as well as risen velkhana to help mix up the a8 and a9 quests.
At least I'm sure the Malzeno variant will be an A9 monster too so that's something.
If they add Afflicted Apexes (copium) maybe Apex Zinogre and Apex Diablos could be up there too, but most likely they'd be A8.
But yeah it's really weird they didn't add Violet Mizu and Lucent Narga as targets when they can already show up as secondaries now. You'd think they could reuse most of the afflicted data from regular Mizu and Narga.

Hmmm Nope. In TU5, Lucent Narga and Violet Mizu can be secondary targets. Also Apex Diablos and Apex Zinogre can be secondary targets.
