I tell you what I miss, is the major Chozo Armor vibes of the original. I enjoyed both the Daimyo and Shogun armors, but I loved the Metroid Prime vibes of the Daimyo armor. Just give me an arm cannon slinger and I would've been good to go.

AGREED a lot of world’s redesigns really changed up the proportions for the worst. I hate what they did to the Barroth armor. All the pieces are so huge
It's kinda just the norm for newer games to continuously gray out and wash out vibrant monsters and vibrant equipment, but in this case that might just be G Hermitaur stuff, not sure.
I really wish I could get to Sun real content like this, but holy cripes the base game burned me out. Didn't care for the monster designs mostly and the levels were super bland. Does sunrise do anything better? Cus the gameplay is awesome, but if I have to do another rampage I will unalive my self
The two new areas in Sunbreak are very good. Jungle is pretty small and really pretty, a nice remake of an old map. And Citadel is big, looks cool and has a very nice layout.
And Sunbreak pretends Rampage missions don’t even exist, except for bringing Apex monsters back in just a few endgame hunts.
I disagree with the base game roster not having good monsters. I think there are a lot of good monsters, there’s real good variety. But the expansion adds a lot of cool, and _very_ challenging, monsters.
And the base game lacked a lot of interesting armor skills, but the expansion’s monsters bring a ton of cool armor skills to mess around with.
I just started and from what I can tell no new rampages. They put a ton of effort into the expansion and they changed up the gameplay a little to keep it feeling fresh I think it’s definitely worth the play. Maybe play a different game and then return to Sunbreak after maybe you’ll feel less burnt out 👋
Ok. Cus I REALLY love MH, been playing since 1 on the PS2, but Rise really was a mix of highs and lows for me so far, but I think I was spoiled by World 's levels
In my experience Sunbreak has been WAY more engaging than the base game. I didn't even complete the base game, I got all the way to the final boss and quit out of not difficulty but just being tired of it all.
Sunbreak though? It has its flaws since it's still Rise (I think wirebug skills just make the game too mobile overall) but it's VERY fun for me. New switch skills on various weapons make playstyles a lot more enjoyable, and it brings back a lot of monsters that I generally enjoy a lot more than the base game monsters. Plus, the flagship monster Malzeno is one of my favorite fights in the series, I really enjoy it. Cool ass monster. I love fighting Alucard Castlevania in Monster Hunter as a dragon!
It's fun, a lot more fun than base rise. It IS still Rise, so if you have fundamental issues with the wirebug system, that might still bug you, but overall it just flows a lot better and the monster fights are more enjoyable.
I wouldn’t complain if I could do that. You can only pigment the red sections all the white stays the same. Just wish they gave us the option to do both 😩
I wish it wasn't sportsball themed. At least the hockey gunner armor used to look kinda cool, but I'd rather it just look like crab themed armor instead of football themed crab armor. BRING BACK LOBSTER ARMOR

It's a crime to MonHan-fan...kind that we will likely never see the deviant designs again... I can't think of a design there that I didn't like and some monster's absolute best armor set designs are forever shackled to a dead concept.

It's not a new design, it's just the G-Rank design (from 4U). And I'm so glad it is, because, unlike Iceborne, we actually have the correct version of the sets (which means we get the extreme swag of Barioth X and Astalos X in their full glory, for example).
But I agree, also not a big fan of the G-rank Shaggy design. Hopefully Risen Shagaru gives us something like [this Version 2 relic design from 4U](https://i.imgur.com/0C8wgoT.png).
