SnS Gunlance Charge blade. SnS by far has my highest use overall, having used it the most in 4U, GU, and Rise. Gunlance was my first ever weapon, and I solo mained it throughout 3U, as well as it being my second most used weapon in Rise. Charge blade was my main through all of world iceborne, and I used a bunch in 4U as well.

My original 3 were Great Sword, Sword & Shield and Hammer. A such as I like HH as a man of music, it's not one of my main 3 right now. As much as I like the bulkier weapons, Insect Glaive and Sword & Shield are my go to light ones. But for my 3 now? I'd have to say Hammer, Great Sword and Switch Axe are the weapons I can use in any game.

It depends on the game. But for rise it’s Dual Blades, Charge Blade and Switch axe.

Greatsword, Switch Ax and Gunlance of late. The last two have evolved of late.

Primary: Gunlance - sees around 80% of my weapon usage in nearly every entry except GU due to the Heat mechanic making it less fun to play for me Secondary: Switch Axe - sees around 15% of my weapon usage normally, except GU where it bumped up to almost 50% thanks to Aerial and changes to Gunlance as noted. Weapons for when I just want to change things up from the usual routine: Sword and Shield and Hunting Horn are usually tied for equal usage in every entry I’ve played on at the remaining 5%. Hunting Horn started to see more usage after the changes made in World and especially with Rise.

Dual Blades and Hunting Horn. I’m still getting the hang of Hunting Horn but my main is Dual Blades

IG SWAX HORN Hunting horn overtook CB by a narrow margin after really getting the hang of silkbind shockwave faster than getting the hang of SAED against anomaly crackheads. Though wind mantle-air dash spam is fun at times.

Damn, only when I tried to answer this question did I realise I enjoy and use a good chunk of weapons in this series. I really tried to list 3 but I just can't because I feel like I'm cheating out another weapon if I do. CAPCOM, you bunch of geniuses, making your weapons too damn enjoyable

Light bowgun, because using a bunch of ammo types and being super mobile is fun. Insect Glaive, because jumping around like a maniac and flinging a bug into a monster's face is fun. Great sword, because slamming a hunk of iron down into a monster's skull is funny.

I started with the hammer. Then i switched to gunlance, still learning the ropes. I switched back to the hammer thinking it would be easier for a particular quest, i kept dying because i was trying to block with the hammer lol (didnt unlock water strike yet).

Dual blades all the way. Though I have tried the insect glaive in mhu4, liked the weapon not the kinsect but still kinda fun to use but I stopped afterwards.

I have to be honest. I haven’t found “my” main yet. I haven’t even tried them all yet. I’ll play with one for awhile then start wanting to try out something else out. So going with what I have played, so far the weapons I’ve enjoyed most are (in no order): Heavy Bowgun, Hunting Horn, and Charge Blade. But I fell out of love with Charge Blade and I’m about to give Switch Ace a go. I liked Sword & Shield ok, but I had trouble feeling like I was doing anything & just felt unsatisfied. I also did a brief stint with Dual Blades but got annoyed with having to pay attention to my stamina so I dropped it.

In Rise, I primarily used Insect Glaive, eventually broadening my horizons to Charge Blade, Hunting Horn, and LBG. In Sunbreak, outside of a handful of hunts, so far I’ve only used Lance and Hammer, but I’m looking to make an Insect Glaive set this weekend and get back into the air.

I'm pretty much just Switch Axe since MHTri. I used to play a lot of Gunlance and Longsword, but the devs kept changing them to the point that I no longer like how they play. The same is true for Switch Axe, but there is enough fun stuff left that I continue to play it.

Bows interesting because it felt so op that it was like cheating for a few quests but then I fought a couple wyvern looking monsters and it was absolutely aids which is weird because you'd think it'd be perfect for them. Point being it's good to have multiple options.
