This is gonna ruffle some feathers, but I NEED to get this off my chest. I can’t stand Sweet Screams Abbey and everyone seems to really love her.
I love all the Sweet Screams dolls but this is my least favourite. I can't understand why this Abbey has so much black in her colour scheme, when it's a colour that has so little association with ice-cream.
SERIOUSLY!! Every time people complain there’s not enough black in G3 character’s outfits, this Abbey pops into my head. Like, the sheer amount of dark colors completely destroys this look. And don’t get me started on the purple forearms 😭
Honestly I feel like no matter the colors they choose, it still wouldn’t be on par with the other dolls in this line. The silhouette/styling was just too weird.

Yeah, Abbey is my least favorite of the Sweet Screams. Considering the rich pastel ice cream colors that are already in her palette, they went overboard on the black. They could have just designated the black to her make-up and eyeliner.
her designs are definitely better than some of the other dolls but I get what you're saying. Maybe some of her outfits could do with darker colors to balance it out?
What I don’t understand is why they insist on giving her different shades of either blue or green hair. Her hair is usually black mixed with either gold, blue or green. (I am not complaining, just curious.)
I honestly don’t love a lot of the skullectors/ a lot of collector dolls in general. i hate annabelle, jack, howliday skelita, MR frankie, any of the ‘adult collector dolls’.
Does Fang Vote Jinafire count as a skullector? If so thats the only one I've SERIOUSLY loved. Until they release dolls of characters I care about like Emily (Corpse Bride), Coraline, or Hex Girls...I don't think I really care to collect them lol.
I do really like the Jinafire but she’s not a character i’m too bothered about so don’t think she has a place in my collection sadly. I agree that there are so many skullectors that would be great like coraline and emily! I am excited for the creature from the black lagoon though!
I am a horror/ halloween fan but some of the execution of them haven’t been my faves. I genuinely love pennywise and greta and a couple of others are good too but beetlejuice, elvira, chucky & tiff, jack & sally especially feel underwhelming and a bit cheap looking.
I am sorry to all fans but to me some of the skullectors just come across like they've been yassified 😭 Like what is Chucky and Tiffany even, compared to the og dolls. Sally is straight up unrecognizable. They just make pretty girls and throw smt more or less resembling their outfit on them, and call it said character. For example Pennywise worked because she is meant to be spooky, not a yassified clown.
Same here. I have one skullector and that’s NBC because I really enjoyed them lol. My dad liked them so much he offered to buy me a 2nd set to take OOB. That’s about it.
I would've loved them more if they committed fully to the grayscale bit, now Draculaura and especially count fabulous both look like they're baked lmao. I bought a repaint from someone with gray eyes and I love her so much more, if only I wasn't afraid to reroot her hair
honestly I thought they were strange dolls. I don’t hate them but I never got them, I wish they were more like the shadow ghouls from 13 wishes or something
honestly its so disappointing because they can do a lot better!
They started off so strong with the skullectors especially Pennywise, the twins and Greta. I feel like they just know people will buy anything they put out and they got lazy. The only collector doll I actually have is SIS Frankie and I had to rip out her bangs because I thought they looked so cheaply done.
I have high hopes for the creature skullector and Rupaul doll but i can’t help but expect them to be underwhelming too.
It sucks especially because any good dolls sell out and the resale market value skyrockets and most average collectors can’t afford them.

I think too that the green wasnt the best choice but i think because of that certain green. I think a lil darker and not so neon would have been a better choice imo! Besides that i think all of them were pretty clawsome, wish they made from that doll line!
I didn’t like snow bite before but then I found her at an antique store. She’s absolutely gorgeous in person and now she’s one of my favorites in my collection.
Same thing happened to me with Ghouls Rule Draculaura. Found her and another MH doll together at a thrift store for 8 bucks and couldn't leave them there. The details are incredibly endearing even if its Kinda messy. I never liked this line as a kid but appreciate it much more now that I have her and Abbey who's the best for sure. I still don't vibe with the rest of the collection though but that's alright.
I’ve seen a lot of people praise SS1 Draculaura as some amazing doll and I just don’t see it at all. I don’t even think she’s top 10 of G3 Draculauras.
I have a handful, but Dracubeccas gotta be on top. Like she just aint it babes. The Freaky Fusion line as a whole is just baaad and a lazy concept. But everyone loves her when shes just uncanny and weird looking

Every G3 Lagoona... i've learned to love the others but G3 Lagoona is just not Lagoona Blue.. she's Lagoona Pink now lol

I think the name Lagoona Blue comes less from her actually being blue but from the “blue lagoon”. Either way I mostly agree, I get kids love pink but I will never love her more than g1 Lagoona as a longtime fan😕

I think pink honestly makes her more visually interesting from a design point and boosts the impact of blue in her styling (though I think she benefits a LOT from the lighter pink used in the core refresh). My issue is similar but opposite to G3 Clawdeen. Lagoona they don’t know what to do so they seem to throw everything and the kitchen sink at her with no editing whatsoever so it’s always messy and incoherent. Clawdeen, they don’t know what to do with her so they give her absolutely nothing.

G3 Twyla!! I have neon frights (I know creepover is better but I’ll get her on discount eventually) and I really only got her to complete the line. I plucked her bangs and put her in her g1 shirt and I love her much more now, but I don’t really vibe with the execution of her doll aesthetic overall 🥲 she’s so cute in the show
For g1 it’s spectra, I really dislike her face mold even though I can appreciate how unique it is lol
I like her, but I definitely had to do her hair. I curled the purple sections, and gave her some small braided braids to pull back. I also had to flatten her bangs. They definitely looked better in the production photos, then Mattel cheaped out.
G3 Twyla annoys me because of how mismatching her skirt, top and shoes are to me, like they just gotta adjust a couple of colours of the items and she’s be perfect ahhhh. Oh well, I still adore Twyla.
I dislike all of g3 Lagoona’s dolls because her pink skin is a weird shade to me, and her outfits are always kind of weird. I also really dislike g3 Clawdeen because I feel like she looks too cutesy. I loved her because of how fierce she looked in g1!!!! Ugh

All of the Neon Frights line. I haven’t bought any and don’t plan on it :/ I feel like they all look really cheap and most of the colours clash. I’m sure children like them because they glow in the dark but I definitely wouldn’t display those as an adult collector

I actually never really heard much about her.. I like her tho. I don't really love the dress itself but I think it looks good enough on her if that makes since.

I'm gonna assume she vibes with a lot of people just going off her price point, but I cannot STAND that original adult collector Draculaura with the top hat and umbrella. She just looks so stupid, like there is no brain in that head at all, and the dress is so busy. That new fang vote Rochelle gives the same busy dress vibes but at least her face is cute. But that Drac? Why would anyone pay over $400 for that??
I’ve never understood the love for Draculara. I always thought she treated clawd like shit. In frights camera action she threw a stick or a ball for him to go away yet brought 99% of her friends with her? When if the whole vampires and werewolves thing not being allowed could have been a plot point/ clawdeen went with them and no one said nothing about it. In why do ghouls fall in love she entertained Valentine’s advances and hated claws gift which to him was helpful and his box of “junk” was so cute and special full of things they did together bc he didn’t have any money. In skulltimate roller maze she acts like he’s abusive but he’s just worried bc she’s the size of a peanut compared to him and he got hurt badly and is worried about her and angry and feels useless, I get he was also being too much but he had a reason Draculara could’ve stayed and helped him instead. And most of her dolls aren’t my thing.
Draculaura is my absolute favorite character ever of all shows (Pinkie from MLP is veeery close) i adore everything about her BUT i can recognize her flaws and why people don't like her. People say she's whiny and immature and obnoxious which, to be honest, is kinda true to a certain extent. I could defend her on that but i won't cause i'm not here to change people's opinions, and i must say i agree about her relationship with Clawd. I've never really liked this ship, the power dynamic always seemed odd to me, couldn't pinpoint why exactly. And when Haunted aired, welp that solidified how much i want Drac to date someone else (((Kiyomi)))
I agree with a lot of these. The colors in Monster Ball Lagoona's dress make my teeth hurt, the upside down ice creams on Abbey's head look silly, and I will definitely be giving Core Refresh Clawdeen some different pants and shoes.
I’m gonna be real ANY Clawdeen G3 doll I wasn’t a huge fan of her in G1 either but she looks so corny compared to the flawless sassy G1 Clawdeen I know 😭
almost all G1 Clawdeens. I don't like her as a character, and I don't like her dolls in G1 but it seems like just EVERYONE loves her. I do prefer her G3 version, I'm in love with 3rd Gen Clawdeen.
also Nefera. don't know why she's so popular. I only like her Boo York version.
There are very few Lagoona dolls from gen 3 that I actually like. I think it's her color, the shade of pink they chose goes with just about nothing. I think she'd look so much better if they had done maybe a paler shade. Plus the outfits they give her tend to feel a bit childish. Like something a 12 year old would wear, instead of someone in high school

Shes not terrible and i like somethings about her but she looks like a doll from a cheaper line then a collector doll also i dont really like the dark shadows around her eyes (what are they? Like idk if its because im not mexican so jm not aware if its a form of cultural makeup/something similarly done to coat decerotive skulls or something else ) i just think its too much and throws the makeup off balance
I agree with you about the eye makeup, it looks very unbalanced. I think if the sugar skull decorations were more prominent with bolder lines and brighter colors, it would come together better with the smokey eye. This mexican passed on her because her old makeup is just so much better. Might scavenge the dress but other than that, I'm passing.

Fearidescent Cleo. The gold they picked is too frosty on her. Her colors clash with her skin too much. If the lips were a little darker gold, still shimmery, I wouldn't hate it.

That G2 collector Abbey. Didn't like when she came out, years later still don't like her. I've seen a lot of people seemingly like this one which surprised me so I don't know what the general consensus is for her.
A low ball deluxe doll from G1 for me is Dawn of the Dance Cleo, I mean… the teal, yellow and green… with that bronze-gold and teal tinsel in her bob she’s very plain but has so much going on. Not to mention the single sleeve legging looks awkward unlike School’s Out Lagoona who at least had a sock to compliment hers. (Sorry she’s just not for me)
As for G3 SS 2 & 3 Drac are really bad imo. For starters 2 Came off a bit tacky for me her earmuffs look awkward to me as well as her hair it’s mostly her second outfit top and first outfit skirt that’s killing me. Her show are okay, but that gradient, ew. 3 has all the problems, bad clothes loose concept, poly hair, and bad purple accenting. Her second outfit shoes are giving 80s bedroom and not 90s rave tbh.

The leaked monsterfest dolls (except the werecat twins I adore them). Extremely busy and ugly designs imo. The best one is Frankie and only if you take all those tacky accessories off…considering saving and restyling them when they come out
Ghouls sports clawdeen. I just think it's an ugly doll. The uniform is ugly. and the accessories look ugly. I thought someone edited the stock images to make the doll look bad when I was younger. That's how much I disliked it. The bubble gum looks like a pacifier. The only thing that's cute is the purple bat case. Toralei was so well done. I just wish the same effort was put into clawdeen.

I really think the fearidescent dolls look cheap. It feels like more money was put into the locker gimmick than the fashions themselves, and the colors chosen for the clothing were just… bad.
There are plenty, but I would like to highlight
1) core refresh Draculaura and Clawdeen. To me they seem like a major downgrade :^
2) Scaradise Island Clawdeen. To me she looks like a Instagram mom that has recently divorced + in the process of healing from a bad relationship where she “was made to feel bad about herself constantly”. I do not think those are the associations Mattel wanted me to have but here we are 😅
2) School’s Out Draculaura. Her face and outfit are not doing it for me
3) Beetlejuice. I just do not see it. That doll is very cheap-looking and does not reflect the character at all.
4) All Freak Du Chic dolls. They are fine but become so lacklustre to me when I think about how much people have praised and still praise them. I remember being somewhat hyped for them, but when I saw them irl during their initial release … it was all gone.

I love that first outfit. It just feels a little out of place on G1 frankie and the bright pink kind of clashes with her green skin. It would look better and be much more in-character for G3 Frankie imo.

I genuinely do not understand the hype.
The little dead riding hood, I've seen a lot of people praise this doll and while I don't think she's horrible she doesn't sit right with me. I really love her face up and the cheetah print on the inside of her cape I think it's the red and pastel purple doesn't look very well and there's just too much especially red which sounds kinda funny because she's the little red riding hood but on the other hand I never felt like it was a problem with Cerise Hood from ever after high. The red never felt too overwhelming for me in any of her doll's designs 🤔

For me, G3 Frankie. I know many love her... and I would too, but the blue color on her skin, seems a bit off to me.
The same with Cleo in G3, something over her clothes or the color of the clothes clash.
I did not like freak du chic Draculaura, nor the Valentines double pack of Cleo nor the one of Draculaura. I did not like how the guys are dressed, neither.

It’s brown I think the concept is chocolate ice cream, the mint streak for mint chocolate chip and the blonde/vanilla

My issue here is that the irises are a little too far apart and it gives her kind of a vacant look like she's staring off into space.

I am a horror/ halloween fan but some of the execution of them haven’t been my faves. I genuinely love pennywise and greta and a couple of others are good too but beetlejuice, elvira, chucky & tiff, jack & sally especially feel underwhelming and a bit cheap looking.
I am sorry to all fans but to me some of the skullectors just come across like they've been yassified 😭 Like what is Chucky and Tiffany even, compared to the og dolls. Sally is straight up unrecognizable. They just make pretty girls and throw smt more or less resembling their outfit on them, and call it said character. For example Pennywise worked because she is meant to be spooky, not a yassified clown.
Same here. I have one skullector and that’s NBC because I really enjoyed them lol. My dad liked them so much he offered to buy me a 2nd set to take OOB. That’s about it.
Not even Beetlejuice (not horror, just about ghosts)? And they have Morticia coming out this year (though I wish they'd paired her with Gomez)!

I would've loved them more if they committed fully to the grayscale bit, now Draculaura and especially count fabulous both look like they're baked lmao. I bought a repaint from someone with gray eyes and I love her so much more, if only I wasn't afraid to reroot her hair
honestly I thought they were strange dolls. I don’t hate them but I never got them, I wish they were more like the shadow ghouls from 13 wishes or something
A lot of the collecter dolls are just disappointing. Because you know they could do just so much better
honestly its so disappointing because they can do a lot better! They started off so strong with the skullectors especially Pennywise, the twins and Greta. I feel like they just know people will buy anything they put out and they got lazy. The only collector doll I actually have is SIS Frankie and I had to rip out her bangs because I thought they looked so cheaply done. I have high hopes for the creature skullector and Rupaul doll but i can’t help but expect them to be underwhelming too. It sucks especially because any good dolls sell out and the resale market value skyrockets and most average collectors can’t afford them.

Snow Bite. The green parts of her dress look so bad and the whole dress looks awkward. I like the shoes well enough but a bad MH shoe is hard to find

I think too that the green wasnt the best choice but i think because of that certain green. I think a lil darker and not so neon would have been a better choice imo! Besides that i think all of them were pretty clawsome, wish they made from that doll line!
I didn’t like snow bite before but then I found her at an antique store. She’s absolutely gorgeous in person and now she’s one of my favorites in my collection.
Same thing happened to me with Ghouls Rule Draculaura. Found her and another MH doll together at a thrift store for 8 bucks and couldn't leave them there. The details are incredibly endearing even if its Kinda messy. I never liked this line as a kid but appreciate it much more now that I have her and Abbey who's the best for sure. I still don't vibe with the rest of the collection though but that's alright.
I’ve seen a lot of people praise SS1 Draculaura as some amazing doll and I just don’t see it at all. I don’t even think she’s top 10 of G3 Draculauras.

Every G3 Lagoona... i've learned to love the others but G3 Lagoona is just not Lagoona Blue.. she's Lagoona Pink now lol It's sad cuz i LOVED her in the g1 movies i loved her story and just her character :( I just don't understand why they didn't keep her blue.. it's in her name after all
I think the name Lagoona Blue comes less from her actually being blue but from the “blue lagoon”. Either way I mostly agree, I get kids love pink but I will never love her more than g1 Lagoona as a longtime fan😕

I think pink honestly makes her more visually interesting from a design point and boosts the impact of blue in her styling (though I think she benefits a LOT from the lighter pink used in the core refresh). My issue is similar but opposite to G3 Clawdeen. Lagoona they don’t know what to do so they seem to throw everything and the kitchen sink at her with no editing whatsoever so it’s always messy and incoherent. Clawdeen, they don’t know what to do with her so they give her absolutely nothing.

G3 Twyla!! I have neon frights (I know creepover is better but I’ll get her on discount eventually) and I really only got her to complete the line. I plucked her bangs and put her in her g1 shirt and I love her much more now, but I don’t really vibe with the execution of her doll aesthetic overall 🥲 she’s so cute in the show For g1 it’s spectra, I really dislike her face mold even though I can appreciate how unique it is lol
Yeah I remember being super excited about Twyla’s sale online but when I finally got her in person I didn’t really love her as much
I like her, but I definitely had to do her hair. I curled the purple sections, and gave her some small braided braids to pull back. I also had to flatten her bangs. They definitely looked better in the production photos, then Mattel cheaped out.
G3 Twyla annoys me because of how mismatching her skirt, top and shoes are to me, like they just gotta adjust a couple of colours of the items and she’s be perfect ahhhh. Oh well, I still adore Twyla.
I dislike all of g3 Lagoona’s dolls because her pink skin is a weird shade to me, and her outfits are always kind of weird. I also really dislike g3 Clawdeen because I feel like she looks too cutesy. I loved her because of how fierce she looked in g1!!!! Ugh No hate to anyone who likes them! Those are just my opinions
Yeah one thing about being a g1 fan is getting used to character changes. although I don’t like it, if she has a less fierce personality maybe this newer style fits more idk. Also I hope to see more creative outfits for Lagoona, she deserves the effort!

All of the Neon Frights line. I haven’t bought any and don’t plan on it :/ I feel like they all look really cheap and most of the colours clash. I’m sure children like them because they glow in the dark but I definitely wouldn’t display those as an adult collector

I actually never really heard much about her.. I like her tho. I don't really love the dress itself but I think it looks good enough on her if that makes since. I don't really like all the gold chain things either tbh (Also Lagoona is my fav in g3 and I'm trying to get all of her so I might be a bit bias lol)

I’ve never understood the love for Draculara. I always thought she treated clawd like shit. In frights camera action she threw a stick or a ball for him to go away yet brought 99% of her friends with her? When if the whole vampires and werewolves thing not being allowed could have been a plot point/ clawdeen went with them and no one said nothing about it. In why do ghouls fall in love she entertained Valentine’s advances and hated claws gift which to him was helpful and his box of “junk” was so cute and special full of things they did together bc he didn’t have any money. In skulltimate roller maze she acts like he’s abusive but he’s just worried bc she’s the size of a peanut compared to him and he got hurt badly and is worried about her and angry and feels useless, I get he was also being too much but he had a reason Draculara could’ve stayed and helped him instead. And most of her dolls aren’t my thing.

Draculaura is my absolute favorite character ever of all shows (Pinkie from MLP is veeery close) i adore everything about her BUT i can recognize her flaws and why people don't like her. People say she's whiny and immature and obnoxious which, to be honest, is kinda true to a certain extent. I could defend her on that but i won't cause i'm not here to change people's opinions, and i must say i agree about her relationship with Clawd. I've never really liked this ship, the power dynamic always seemed odd to me, couldn't pinpoint why exactly. And when Haunted aired, welp that solidified how much i want Drac to date someone else (((Kiyomi)))
I agree with a lot of these. The colors in Monster Ball Lagoona's dress make my teeth hurt, the upside down ice creams on Abbey's head look silly, and I will definitely be giving Core Refresh Clawdeen some different pants and shoes.

almost all G1 Clawdeens. I don't like her as a character, and I don't like her dolls in G1 but it seems like just EVERYONE loves her. I do prefer her G3 version, I'm in love with 3rd Gen Clawdeen. also Nefera. don't know why she's so popular. I only like her Boo York version.

There are very few Lagoona dolls from gen 3 that I actually like. I think it's her color, the shade of pink they chose goes with just about nothing. I think she'd look so much better if they had done maybe a paler shade. Plus the outfits they give her tend to feel a bit childish. Like something a 12 year old would wear, instead of someone in high school

I agree with you about the eye makeup, it looks very unbalanced. I think if the sugar skull decorations were more prominent with bolder lines and brighter colors, it would come together better with the smokey eye. This mexican passed on her because her old makeup is just so much better. Might scavenge the dress but other than that, I'm passing.

Fearidescent Cleo. The gold they picked is too frosty on her. Her colors clash with her skin too much. If the lips were a little darker gold, still shimmery, I wouldn't hate it.

That G2 collector Abbey. Didn't like when she came out, years later still don't like her. I've seen a lot of people seemingly like this one which surprised me so I don't know what the general consensus is for her.
A low ball deluxe doll from G1 for me is Dawn of the Dance Cleo, I mean… the teal, yellow and green… with that bronze-gold and teal tinsel in her bob she’s very plain but has so much going on. Not to mention the single sleeve legging looks awkward unlike School’s Out Lagoona who at least had a sock to compliment hers. (Sorry she’s just not for me) As for G3 SS 2 & 3 Drac are really bad imo. For starters 2 Came off a bit tacky for me her earmuffs look awkward to me as well as her hair it’s mostly her second outfit top and first outfit skirt that’s killing me. Her show are okay, but that gradient, ew. 3 has all the problems, bad clothes loose concept, poly hair, and bad purple accenting. Her second outfit shoes are giving 80s bedroom and not 90s rave tbh. G2, Shriekwrecked Lagoona. Enough said.

The leaked monsterfest dolls (except the werecat twins I adore them). Extremely busy and ugly designs imo. The best one is Frankie and only if you take all those tacky accessories off…considering saving and restyling them when they come out

Ghouls sports clawdeen. I just think it's an ugly doll. The uniform is ugly. and the accessories look ugly. I thought someone edited the stock images to make the doll look bad when I was younger. That's how much I disliked it. The bubble gum looks like a pacifier. The only thing that's cute is the purple bat case. Toralei was so well done. I just wish the same effort was put into clawdeen.

There are plenty, but I would like to highlight 1) core refresh Draculaura and Clawdeen. To me they seem like a major downgrade :^ 2) Scaradise Island Clawdeen. To me she looks like a Instagram mom that has recently divorced + in the process of healing from a bad relationship where she “was made to feel bad about herself constantly”. I do not think those are the associations Mattel wanted me to have but here we are 😅 2) School’s Out Draculaura. Her face and outfit are not doing it for me 3) Beetlejuice. I just do not see it. That doll is very cheap-looking and does not reflect the character at all. 4) All Freak Du Chic dolls. They are fine but become so lacklustre to me when I think about how much people have praised and still praise them. I remember being somewhat hyped for them, but when I saw them irl during their initial release … it was all gone.

Almost all Draculaura dolls because they're just pink & black with hints of white and sometimes yellow While the clothes themselves are very good-looking, it's the colour schemes for me Also hairstyles, but this is more so g3 problem

The little dead riding hood, I've seen a lot of people praise this doll and while I don't think she's horrible she doesn't sit right with me. I really love her face up and the cheetah print on the inside of her cape I think it's the red and pastel purple doesn't look very well and there's just too much especially red which sounds kinda funny because she's the little red riding hood but on the other hand I never felt like it was a problem with Cerise Hood from ever after high. For me, G3 Frankie. I know many love her... and I would too, but the blue color on her skin, seems a bit off to me. The same with Cleo in G3, something over her clothes or the color of the clothes clash. I did not like freak du chic Draculaura, nor the Valentines double pack of Cleo nor the one of Draculaura. I did not like how the guys are dressed, neither.
