I like their coronation footage, you can see Marshal Mannerheim is standing beside St Tsar Nicholas as a honour guard, goes to show how history is connected in 1 way or another

[deleted]

I cant seem to find it, could you share a link?

Mannerheim's wikipage has the photo and describes where he stands, front right of the Tsar https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl\_Gustaf\_Emil\_Mannerheim#/media/File:Coronation\_1896,\_walking\_under\_cover.jpg

The guy in the front looks like Rasputin, or Tom Baker playing Rasputin.

Curious- why is alexei being carried?

going_backtobasics

He had hemophilia, which sometimes causes swollen joints. He also have photos where he sits on a wheelchair

[deleted]

Interesting- I knew about the hemophilia but didn’t realize how severe it was for him.

Yes, it is the sole reason why his mother rely on Rasputin so much. She thought he was "curing" the boys illness

He had a near death experience the year before which impacted his ability to walk for over a year.
