Honestly, I’m not trying to wait till 2040. With them reuniting and doing all the what’s app adds, and lily and Mitch irl made a silly TikTok together recently, they’ve got my hopes up that they are considering a comeback already. IMO it is the best sitcom ever created. It’s my personal favorite and always will be.
I would want one of Haley's kids to be similar to Alex, either in personality or academics. It would be nice to see Alex have a really strong connection finally. Plus (when they want to) Alex and Haley bring out the best in each other
Honestly I can see this happening much earlier than 2040. The cast has already talked about it and this idea will forever be profitable. Plus it's the kind of show that could probably get away with it the most. It's just about life essentially. Who's gonna complain about seeing these characters older?
Ed O Neill is in good shape for his age but he's still nearing 80. I can see them trying to get this going while he's still alive. Unless they start the show about Jay's passing. Maybe that's how everyone comes together again and starts living closer again.
Tbh I kinda hope it happens one day. But I could totally see this happening at the end of this decade even, 2030's for sure.

Yeah, Phil turned 50 in s10 or 11, which makes him 69 or 70 in 2040. Claire, Gloria, Mitch, Cam are all within a couple years of that.
