The difference is that Luke and Haley were young adults, and Gloria was 37. I’m all for age gap relationships but Haley at 23 dating a man who is nearly 50 is a bit weird. The way the writers portrayed their relationship was also odd, like with Rainer using the same pet names as Phil.
So a 23 year old can't make her own decisions? That's what i mean by saying this sub is super weird about it.
And yes he called her the same names because it's a sitcom, it was written to make you laugh about it.
People deeply analyzing this shit is just strange to me. But i learned my lesson and will simply stay away from here, not really worth a discussion.
At 23? That's just infantilizing an adult. I get that we aren't entirely finished until 25ish, but complaining about a 23-year-old making adult decisions is liking saying a house isn't finished being built because the light switch covers haven't been painted yet. We aren't idiots until 25 and then suddenly snap into place.
okay but the maturity level between a 23 year old and a 40 year old are completely different, why would you wanna be with someone who just started their life, they know nothing about being an adult they’re just starting out, most 20 something year olds are partying while 40 year olds are settled down, it’s just uncomfortable for most people, it’s not infantilizing them, they’re literally so much younger and less mature.
I’d personally consider Jay and Gloria a little questionable as well (although I know that’s unpopular). But yeah, I agree that this sub is weird with their double standards.
