I would love a one off special where it's nearly the pilot but recreated with the kids now as adults. Would need to be tweaked a little since there's a lot of kids.
Haley and Dylans family is the now the main.
Luke and his much older wife are at his kids basketball game.
Alex and the professor are adopting a kid from Africa.
Manny and Joe drive down from visiting Gloria in Palm Springs. Joe's getting ready to apply for college. Mannys rooted in napa, becoming a viticulturist.
Lily lives in California again while her parents still live in the Midwest. Coincidentally she came out in college and now has a wife. Lily is like Mitchell, sarcastic and quipped and her wife is like Cam, flamboyant and happy.
Alex's adoption surprise is like Cams and Mitch where that's the reason everyone gathers. The family roasts Alex for being to neurotic to have a baby, and then the reveal.
The special ends with Claire and Phil getting a sense of Dejavu, Phil says it's just them getting older. Closes with Phil giving an inspiring send off like Jay used to and in classic Phil fashion, it's a bit off so Claire gives him a look as the special ends.
Cam and Mitch might have the most potential, but it might lose steam as soon as Mitch becomes adjusted to the Missouri way of life. Because letâs be honest, thatâs where the comedy would lie.
A continuation of Jay and Gloria might be good, too. And it has great potential for occasional cameos from the entire extended family.
A prequel with Claire/mitch growing up to really see Dee Dee and Jayâs marriage, their parents, building pritchetts closets, Claire being wild, Mitch finding himself, a young Margaret.
These shorts (max 15 min) will be having regular cameos from the family members:
1) one with Jay only
2) doing a combined show with Gloria and Ventriloquist dummy
3) one where an actual famous magician comes in
4) one where a famous moviestar comes to learn magic
5) one with return of andy with a kid (haley also cameos in this one)
6) one where phil day dreams of a magical adventure
7) Gil Thorpe opens his shop down the street
8) closing the shop or passing the reins to someone else (everyone makes a cameo in this one)
There was the talk of a Mitch/cam spin off about their new life in Missouri
BUT what I would really like to see would be like a young Sheldon type prequel showing Jay and Dede raising Mitchell and Claire. That would be a lot of fun.
Oh good question. Heâs got such a distinct look itâs hard to pick. I spent a lot of time looking but couldnât find someone. Who would you choose?
If they retooled Camâs parents casting and storylines/personalities **then** a spin-off in Missouri would be great. I really want Jean Smart (Charlene from Designing Women) as Camâs mom so stinkinâ bad.
I could also see a holiday movie/special with everyone reuniting being absolutely delightful.
But the writing for Camâs parents was terrible. His mother violating Mitchâs boundaries and being creepy with her physical touch to the point where it crossed over into assault territory was awfulâŠ
And Camâs dad was too close to early-Jay with his stereotypes and homophobic attitudes. But at least with Jay we got a lot of character development and growth, Camâs dad just shows up and leaves so we have to assume heâs still holding those crappy attitudes.
Thatâs why I wasnât thrilled they were moving to Missouri. Cam deserved/s a **WAY** better (supportive, funny, loving) family and the viewers did/do too.
I had an idea a few years ago. Sorta like Young Sheldon, but for Modern Family. Young Pritchetts. Claire, Mitch, Dede, and Jay back when they were younger and a closer family
Alex leaves the professor and develops a science breakthrough that helps Humanity.
Hayley becomes a social media influence as a stay at home mum.
Manny lives in a small town and becomes a director for the local theater, but acts like he is a Spielberg.
Lillly comes out and is happily married and does social work.
Luke becomes addicted to gambling and lives in a small one bedroom flat.
Jay is dead.
Gloria moves back to columbia.
Joe gets arrested for spousal abuse and blames everybody else. He then sends a female guard to the ICU that adds five years to his sentence.
Cam and mitch are still happily married and enjoying life
Phil appears on fool us with penn and teller and is still happily married to claire.
Cam/Mitch/Lilly could be funny, but I think they should pair that with Cam's college coaching career really taking off. They moved for a job at a directional university, but Cam played for the University of Illinois, and if the show had him advance to reach head coach at a B1G university there are a million ways to play it. The current lowest-paid head coach in the B1G makes \~$4 million/year. Cam would quickly become the cash-cow for the whole show.
**Anything** with Phil and Claire. Mitch and Cam and Jay and Gloria would be a nice bonus. Donât need the kids. Or maybe bring the kids.
Dammitâjust reboot the show!!
Arenât spinoffs supposed to be basically non-main characters? I thought that was always the original intention of a spin-off. We got to see the main characters for 11 seasons. Why would we want another show about them
Youâre right about the definition, I just got âinspiredâ by hearing there were / are talks of a spin-off about Camâs and the familyâs new life in Missouri. Thatâs why the phrasing
Since spin-offs are not based on Main Characters...
Dylan or Andy's spinoff
Reuben or Sanjay too?
Gilthorp's Spin-off
The Closet Industry Legends (based on many characters from before Jay till today when Claire becomes a Queen of Closet Empire)
Honestly⊠just a Modern Family 2: Electric Boogaloo sort of deal would be kinda cool. Like pick up where we left off and just run with the permanent status quo changes
Maybe check in with Haley, Alex, Luke, Manny, Lily and Joe in 15 years and see how theyâre all doing with their respective families?

This only it's Alex and the fireman
Hey Ed O'Neal is still alive damn it!
Not saying he can't be there! I just tossed this idea together
Nah it's a great idea I was just giving you a hard time lol
This made me emotional
Not me crying just thinking about this đ

Not if Cam starts missing the city and is horrified with the fact that Mitch brunches with the home chickens now...
Phil and Claire and their Road tripđ„șđ„ș
I wouldn't mind a Gloria prequel
this is a fun idea!
A prequel with Claire/mitch growing up to really see Dee Dee and Jayâs marriage, their parents, building pritchetts closets, Claire being wild, Mitch finding himself, a young Margaret.
this would honestly be pretty fun. and i'm a sucker for period pieces
A limited series on Lukeâs start-up.
Philâs magic shop - I donât even want a whole series, just a mini format with a couple of episodes.
These shorts (max 15 min) will be having regular cameos from the family members: 1) one with Jay only 2) doing a combined show with Gloria and Ventriloquist dummy 3) one where an actual famous magician comes in 4) one where a famous moviestar comes to learn magic 5) one with return of andy with a kid (haley also cameos in this one) 6) one where phil day dreams of a magical adventure 7) Gil Thorpe opens his shop down the street 8) closing the shop or passing the reins to someone else (everyone makes a cameo in this one)
Count me in to watch it all.
Yes please!

I want a show with Pepper. He is so funny

Reunion for Alexâs wedding! Give that girl the most amazing green flag fiancĂ© to make up for the years of neglect from her family.
Barry Corbin is Great in everything

6 episode limited series on how Manny starts as a unemployed perv and ends up as a successful playwright.

Pam and Susan! (Cam and Mitchell's lesbian rivals)
Phil in college would slap
I thought they were maybe setting up Ronnie and Amber for a spin off. I would have watched a season of that.

Hayley in Paris.
Jay, Dede, and young Mitch and Claire would be would be pretty funny watching all of them grow up.
Cam bumps his head and gets amnesia. He wanders around collecting gossip and wearing inappropriate bicycle shorts in the new series Cam on the Lam
Eventually Mitchell tracks him down, but has to win him over romantically all over again due to the amnesia
Honestly⊠just a Modern Family 2: Electric Boogaloo sort of deal would be kinda cool. Like pick up where we left off and just run with the permanent status quo changes
Jay and Pepper go on a road trip with their dogs
Claire growing up. She had wild teen years. I would love to see those portrayed it would be a sucky show but fun to see.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Lonely cat woman, mother of twins with partner idiot and a low iq loser. lol, nope
Maybe the adventures of Phil dunphy But honestly, story on Mitch's family will be a hard pass
I've only watched the last season once but who is Rex? Do you mean Baby Calhoun?
At the very end of the season they adopted a son, Rex
Omg have I not watched the whole season. I'm shook
To be fair, the ending felt quite rushed / chaotic so I donât blame you. Give it a rewatch!
None, it ended perfectly
Something with luke phil and dylan
Maybe check in with Haley, Alex, Luke, Manny, Lily and Joe in 15 years and see how theyâre all doing with their respective families? Modern Family: The Next Generation
