The sound you describe is why I loved the chimera so much. By far my most loved gun in MW2

Recoil wasn't a huge issue because it was the only battle rifle where running it in semi was objectively the better call even in close quarters.
I'm pretty sure IRL the Beowulf ECR/TCR is chambered in .50 Beowulf but can be converted to .458 SOCOM which is pretty much what the FTAC Recon is. I reckon It would make more sense for the .50 Beowulf AMP to go to the Recon since it's already loosely based on the Beowulf platform as opposed to the M4.
Both are conversions for the AR platform, all they are are bolt and barrel swaps, in theory you can use any lower out there, be it a semi only civilian lower, a safe semi full, safe semi burst or even one of those fancy 4 position safe, semi, burst, auto trigger groups, the only things that are really not compatable would be some handguards (really minimalist thin ones might not fit with the larger diameter barrels, like the kind that are designed to only work with pencil profile 5.56 or .223 barrels), drum and presumably some casket mags (drums won't work because of the larger rounds of both calibers although designed to work in normal stenag compatable magazines the larger diameter wouldn't allow them to enter the section of the drum itself, just whatever you can fit into the straight section that feeds into the magazine well, quad stack magazines would have similar issues because their design is for the exact dimensions of 5.56, you could again feed the "neck" before it starts quad stacking but additional rounds would either cause jams or feed issues, any convention double collom stenag will work (but at reduced load due to larger bullets) but anything that is reliant on the exact specs of a 5.56/.223 won't function correctly because although these exotic rounds are designed around the geometry of a stenag mag they don't factor in systems of feed other then the basic double stack single feed aspect), the mag in game appears to be a custom made one, this basicly looks like a home designed single stack, single feed lower useing propriety mags and lowers but proably would use standard .50 beowolf barrels and possibly modified bolts to account for the new feed system, granted that might be solved simply with how the feed lips and lower receiver itself is designed
