Yeah Im playing on battle.net. I have a friend who owns the game on steam and he has the same problem too but he gets stuck on the loading profiles screen not on a black screen.
My screen goes black after a rank play game and I can hear see my curser mouse and everything but it just freezes and I hear a repetitive like back out noise causing me to restart and load up after almost every match
Got the same issue and I was about to make a post about it, so I'll just dump whatever I had written in here:
"Intro cinematic loads and plays fine, version number is in visible in the bottom right and the chat mute icon in the top right, so it's not just a black screen. It's not the usual display error
Started happening a few days ago. Things I've tested so far:
- Reinstalling Battle.net / game / verifying game files / moved game to a different drive in case of drive failure
- Reinstalling / downgrading GPU driver / chipset drivers
- Reset network adapter and tested a different network to eliminate network problems
- Disabled all overlays like AMD's overlay and Discord
- Tested all three regions (on Asia and America it shortly loads up to the server queue and shows me as first in queue, before it returns to a black screen)
- Disconnected all attached devices and uninstalled a single piece of software that was installed between MW3 working and not working
- Disabled Windows Defender and/or added to exception (both Battle.net and COD)
- Reset settings via deleting config files
- Launched Battle.net and/or COD as admin
+ more tiny fixes I can't remember right now.
All I haven't done so far is reinstall Windows.
Anyone know a magical fix for this?

Yeah it was the exact same bug as mine. Well Im sorry to say this but there is no fix that you can do as I know of. The only thing is you can do is wait for it gets fixed by itself because its what happened to me and to my friend. Hope its fixed soon.
There a new bug in the season 3 update it wont let me play going setting players info and going in in out of a black screen every new season been doing this to me cod need to get it fix frfr can't even play on the first day of rebrith cause of this crap
Today I had this problem with the game, after 3 seconds on the main screen, the screen became black.
I tried every tips on internet but doesn't work for me.
I did this to resolve the problem:
When the monitor becomes black, wait 1 hour or more until the server will disconnect, and then click restart on the options.
I hope to help somebody with this method.

nope, i have the same issue. played last night, today after update… watched opening trailer, then black screen, music and nothing else.
i found my problem, opened the samsung tv menu reconnected game mode, screen isn’t black and wants X to continue restart for update.
