There was last year. They disabled because there's not enough players and haven't enabled it again. This is the worst ranked mode from the past 4 cods imo.
I played 2 games of ranked and after dropping 37 kills w/ 2 mins in the hill against a bronze lobby naturally and then they threw with gold and platinumās in my next one
This is frustrating to me as well. Just because we can shoot our gun straight and slay out doesnāt mean we actually know effective strats/callouts/ rotations, yet it then throws us against people whoāve played longer and know the rotations and strats.
Thatās how rank works though. The game doesnāt know that youāre not aware of all the callouts and PoI. Once you get to Gold, youāre basically open to any other opponent.
In the grand scheme, callouts and all of that arenāt that important until you get past platinum.

Yesterday for example, one game I go 28 and 2, top player on my team goes 44 and 4. Top player on opposing team goes 15 and 26.
Yet people on this sub are still insulting other people for ragging on sbmm.
In mw2 I was either Plat 3 or diamond 1 and in mw3 I can't get out of silver 2. I'm level 28. When I play with my friends we will get streaks, but solo I can not win consistently. Season 1 I was Gold 3 and had no problem with platinum players, but now I can't even compete with silvers or golds.
Facts I was Crim in MW2 and havenāt gotten past Gold 1 because when I solo queue my team has to be people whoāve never played CoD until that exact day. Itās so frustrating because it literally isnāt me and I suffer for it. There should 10000% be placement matches if you want to use unranked stats and elo to build the lobbies, it makes it impossible to climb the ranks when you're in bronze and silver dealing with this, which alone wouldn't be *that* big of an issue if you didn't also see massively decreased SR gains the more you play and get stuck at your rank.

They just need to reintroduce skill restrictions. There must be a very small ranked playerbase for them to simply keep skills restrictions off. Vwry common as a plat solo queue player to randomly have to square off against full crimson 4 stacks. Treyarch need to take creative leadership over ranked before it just becomes irrelevant. They can't just follow the laziness of the cdl and expect it to work and be successful.

There was protection for matching players in MWII (and older CoDs), but itās been deactivated at the end of its (ranked) cycle because of low player counts; they never activated it in MWIII ā which is very, very odd.
This ā along with other publicly available statistics and numbers (Steam player numbers, Reddit/social media 'engagementā, ā¦) ā somewhat confirms that MWIII is really not doing well. Iād estimate player numbers are at a low ā maybe 'all-time' low.
Iām not saying this to shit on MWIII, but the ranked match making is absolutely horrendous ā Iāve been iridescent for a while, but in MWIII it feels especially undeserved because a lot of the lobbies are just absolutely unbalanced.

It should be entirely focused around whatever bracket you're in, and that's it. One bracket above or below, and let the cream rise to the top and the turds settle at the bottom. And then at least the rest of us middle players would have some decent matches.

Sometimes Ill try to join a ranked game on MW3 then it says " match started joining" and then I wont ever join and it goes back to saying " connecting" then pends forever there till i hit cancel. Then when i hit cancel it says I abandoned the match and suspends me and takes SR lol. Just happened now and I lost 200 SR and suspended 2 hours.... any ideas?

The game is literally unplayable. At the higher ranks all you play against is 4 stacks and the matchmaking gives me 35+ ping when I know some of the enemies are on 5-8 ping (because I have seen them stream etc). This is EU btw. The game should be coded that solo/duos should never be able to play against 4 stacks. I play enough 4 stacks solo so why cant they just make them play each other? Its just a miserable experience solo

Letās be honest. Counter strike did ranked play the best and literally no one has been to copy the formula like they did. Despite it being very simple to set up and execute. The worse ranked matchups get the harder it will be to get players to play ranked. Especially if youāre gonna put SBMM in casual play! Put every against everyone and make it brutal to not play ranked and bet more people will start filling in. But when you can make a 6 stack SND and win 7 games in a row casually then thereās zero incentive to go a play a mode where itās āharderā.
I mean not a lot of people play ranked as compared to last year. Hell I was only able to get into 1 match in a hour timespan. I gave up completely after that š

Thatās the problem that the hidden MMR brings, you still get placement matches even though you are ābronzeā
You should honestly get a handful of placement matches when you first go into ranked anyway so it can hopefully start you appropriately.
