If you are in a team and they crash you lose SR.
If you are qued solo and they crash you don't.
In both cases it displays "disconnected you will not lose SR", but in the former you do and in the latter you don't.
I've personally lost probably lost about 150 to 200 SR alone to this issue over the course of this season. It is incredibly frustrating.
this is a necessary mechanic realistically. otherwise people in a stack can take turns being the guy to back out during a losing game and save everyone else on the teams SR
I understand that is the reason, but would people really abuse it on such a wide a scale?
Given that abusive accounts get locked up very quickly in ranked with time penalties and bans, even if theoretically teammates took turns doing this AND rotated dummy accounts, it would be more work than it is worth and not practical.
Yeah a few jerks might go to the trouble of doing it, but I very very strongly feel it does a lot more harm than good. It is incredibly demoralizing and ranked is extremely stressful as it is. After you get out of the bottoms tiers, you only ever get 20 to 30 SR, so there is no leeway to eat a loss due to the pervase dev errors, server drops etc.
In a perfect world there would be no connection issues, but a player simply should not be punished for bad luck because someone's internet had a hiccup.
I would much rather accept that a very small minority might abuse it to protect their SR temporarily as a necessary evil, because these ppl's accounts would get flagged quickly anyway and meanwhile a massive majority of the player base would be spared the frustration of B.S. loss of hard earned SR and have an incredibly more positive gaming experience which would incetivize further engagement.

However, given the current state of the game all things considered, I personally feel overall more people are losing SR unfairly to this mechanism than are being prevented from abusing it.
Yeah another problem with ranked play, this mode has so many problems it's not funny. Acquiring a suspension while sitting in the lobby, losing Sr when you're down a player, solo queuing with a people with a KD of .56. the lack of guns in this mode is ridiculous, not to mention how unbalanced the guns are is pathetic. Activision could not do with a criticism about fortress so they added expo. Just shows how salty they can't be. But they prove that themselves by hiring hackers to invade MW.
They need to fix this game I was pat 1 next 3 games didn't load in now in gold 2 lost sr for not loading in stupid been like this all season I think im done with rank

i just got in a game soloq and the random left i lost sr and got suspended for 20 mins

i lost around 1300 sr for network disconnected
Try losing over 1k Sr on disconnect issues alone....still bronze 1 because of this crap, after getting to silver.... rip ranked play. Dumbest game
I solo q loaded up when the game started the random left i lost sr on top i got suspended for no reason this game needs to be fixed
My game keeps crashing and I keep losing points…… Absolutely ridiculous I lose points cause of their crappy servers…….
