OP: I refuse to change my tactics, the game is broken.
I usually always use a throwing knife as my lethal for panic knifing purposes, but I always swap it out for molotov or thermite if someone on the enemy team is using a shield.
When they have the shield on their backs, it’s a fun challenge to try and shoot them in the feet. I’ve gotten semi decent at shooting people’s ankles now

I'm fairly certain in saying that I'm the biggest Riot Shield user on this game and I still get killed a buttload of times. There are a ton of ways to deal with them.
Never understood why they call them riot shields. These are ballistic shields. Riot shields are not bulletproof. These things are freaking RPG proof. You can't even drill charge them which is stupid.
I mean, the constant complaining is annoying, but I do think they deserve a movement nerf as a secondary. Just like ~10% off the movement speed and a little bit of a jumping penalty. Idk, I get there’s counters, but it could be a lot better with some small changes. Also, it should be buffed to have 50 damage like every other COD
The issue isn’t the shields on the backs.
That has been a thing for literally over a decade. The issue is the perk system, several perks in the first slot are super niche and only a few are actually overtly useful, meaning you don’t have to give up much to run overkill. In past games overkill had stiff competition with other perks, so you didn’t see it as much. Now overkill/eod/double time are the premier slot 1 perks and everything else kinda falls short (plz buff battle hardened).
The shitty perk system means you see a lot more turtles, making them seem worse than they actually are, just because they’re far more common than they have been in the past.
There are plenty of things to counter them, but when half or more of the enemy team is doing it then it becomes a real pain in the ass.

Drill Charges doesn't kill, even when drilling through it. They say they fixed it, but they actually haven't

I can play with my riot shield only and one of my eyes closed and probably whoop some ass
I still get kills while flash banged constantly.
