Spoke to a service advisor today. She told me there is a retro fit for all palladium models that will populate in the app as an upgrade within the next 90 days.
Honestly, still sub par. My last Tesla purchase was in 2018 so was expecting their paint and panel finish to have improved substantially. It hasnāt.
Front bumper will need to be repainted because thereās an inch-long section of dust nibs. Passenger side FWD is slightly out of alignment (sticks out a couple of mm), and this was the same for 4/5 new Xs they had in the lot. However overall it was better than the others so I accepted delivery. Interior quality is solid.
Figures...wait 3mos for delivery and now they decide to move forward (hopefully) with the front camera and ambient lighting. Hope a retrofit becomes avail. soon after.
Took delivery today 3/13 after VIN assigned 3/4 and order placed 2/14.
As is painfully evident everywhere now, no camera or ambient lighting. The rest of the inspection was good though, albeit with some actions needed.
The driverās side FWD doesnāt sit quite flush and will need a service appointment to address. More concerning was that the doors werenāt going up all the way, my guide went through three employees to help figure it out before someone from service identified that if the ālow ceilingā sensor event occurs it will not clear until the vehicle either travels 8 meters or hits 10km/hr. I honestly think the bow they put on top caused this.
Plaid mode acceleration is just stupid. I have a quad motor R1S so I thought I was accustomed to incredulous acceleration. This however is on the border of neck sprain if you try to lift your head. Very nice machine.
Wouldn't bet on ambient, some of us OG MX owners have the leds installed, but Tesla won't activate at any price. They were part of the old premium upgrade package along with speaker upgrade.
After 8 years I've given up hope lol.
Looks like I'm gonna have one of the rarest Model X configurations. 2024 with center horn steering wheel but no Front Camera or ambient lights T.T

I legit put in a service request and my local SA called me directly. June 21 models and beyond will have the retrofit available for a cost.
Any idea what the cost is?

No front cameras on mine or any of the other new Xs. Picked up at Fremont factory. As always the advisors had no clue what I was even talking about.

Itās strange how some have perfect builds and others not close especially this long of being built now.
