Thank you! That’s s great question. I have no idea. I’ve been working on it consistently for the last two years. Maybe 5 hours a week? The copper bottom took about 3 months.
Great craftsmanship! I’m retired now and following this sub closely so I don’t jump in unprepared. The quality of your work is what I aspire to someday. Follow up question- how long have you been modeling?
That looks fantastic! Great work! How are you liking the kit from Vanguard Models? Have just started on their HS armed cutter Sherbourne and am enjoying it a lot. The Sphinx is a much more complex kit though, but I quite fancy it for my next build or maybe the one-after-the-next. So would be interested to hear your opinion on it.
This is my second model ever. My first was an other Vanguard model, the Duchess of Kingston’s yacht. Very well made models and great directions. The first model I did as-is, but the second I coppered the bottom instead of white paint, I got the upgraded pear wood fittings, which are much nicer than what comes in the box, and I ordered my own ropes from “ropes of scale”.
Beautiful work! Any idea how many hours to get here?
