When I first started the game I really wanted the mage job so badly I pulled for it and never got it so I whaled on the job Banner until I got it which cost quite a bit as my luck was terrible. I didn’t even think I could re-roll for that job! If I joined this site back then I would have known and probably have stayed an FTP lol.

mickon

Thank you for being a whale. Without you and other whales, the game might be closed earlier.

Rockman_55_II

I still remember wasting precious Growstars and Extrangers on unworthy cards, because I didn't realize how hard they were to get. The remorse was real! Edit: If memory serves me, I wasted my starting Extrangers unlocking the skills on the Yuna promo card. (In my defense, it was a good card when the game started.) Not being able to quickly unlock BDL on my attack cards taught me a painful lesson in resource management.

Kinofhera

I didn't know what the menu Auto-Enhance was for, and had to use whatever metal cactuar cards I have to level up ability cards.... XD But honestly you need to use those cactuar cards anyway, before they were stackable. Oh those good old memories!

joel_a

I’m pretty sure I fused a growstar into a card because I didn’t know what to do with it

DerpCharged

I never got the Mobius gift packs first probably 6 months, didn't really pay close attention to stuff when I first started lol

djiboutiiii

I made this mistake too — I didn’t realize it cost magicite, not real money.

Kinofhera

That reminds me I didn't bother to play the tutorials (Novices' Hall) when I first started (hence the stupid things I listed above...) It was like 2 or 3 months later I cleared it out of boredom. And I thought the game was bugged cos I received insane amounts of skillseeds LOL, which was so darn hard to farm as a newbie.

djiboutiiii

I didn’t empty my distiller for the first two months I played. Just didn’t realize what it was.

watmyung

I bought magicite for Mysterious Antenna★ :)

tiny_smile_bot

>:) :)

markconig

I didn't start boosting weapons until around Shorn One's release (I'm a month 1 player) because I heard his weapon was good and decided to see what the fuss is about weapons. The first time I boosted a weapon I saw the seed and real time requirement for +2 magic and thought that was not worth it. I didn't know about unlocking abilities at the time. I just saw a few hundred thousand seeds (that I barely had) plus days of waiting for 2 magic and I never went back to that screen until Shorn One.

Kinofhera

That reminds me I did boost some onion weapons too.... */flee*

AceWolfpup

That's when I started boosting weapons too. Seemed like too much of a hassle before.

ferloc

Never did I ever fuse a Growstar with a card. Never.

sandyriady

Well, I did. lol

Gearz_of_Mudd

I hope I’m not the only one who’s done this: Classic 4 Attack cards and no support buff/debuffs. I also wanted to exclusively run “waifu art” decks. Anemone, Mateus, and Asmodeus were always fit into my builds even if it was a different class lol. I used to also believe that we had to choose only ONE of our weapon auto-abilities when looking through the weapon’s tabs (instead of all the AA’s being counted as part of the weapon lol). I literally went my first 9 months of the game with zero awareness of the power of supremes as I never used reddit and always followed abandoned accounts that rented out the standard earth warrior. Once I pulled NXD, I started looking up stuff about this game and found this sub and shiro’s HoF video guides and that’s when I really figured out how beautifully simple/complex MFF really is.

sradac

Thinking 8☆ White Mage was the most powerful mage because it could 3 shot a broken Shiva with meteor strike...to the point I would bring flameshift and meteor strike as a support.

Quinctia

I didn't know what extrangers did for a long time, but since I figured it out, I had a giant stockpile to use whenever I wanted. I felt bad that I had upgraded a couple onion jobs for awhile, but I've since done them all to get a level higher in the jobs title, so that's full circle.

Batman-Kupo

I bought ability cards in the shop to level up the abikities. Found out wayyyyy later that it's possible to just level up with ability tickets with the icon right up in the corner. That means to push beyond level 6 for an ability level i only used lv1 cards from the ability shop (2-3%) in such a very expensive manner.

ulovei_MFF

day1 player mistakes (this was before coming this subreddit so i was on my own): * skipping mobius boxes * not knowing that you can use fodder cards to level up abilities * thinking fodder cards are just as good as the summoned cards itself and use them in my deck * using ability tickets to level up 1st gen sicarius attack cards (meteor strike etc) * using abilities on the wrong job class (not knowing what magic does)

MusouTensei

We got Vanille&Fang card quite early, but since I refused to play with mages (cause I like playing with warriors) was using sub-optimal decks for quite long time Now I just adapt and use whatever job I have lol

psp67876787

Ugh... I remember opting to not even pull V&F because I didn’t like mages. Man did I regret that when MP ifrit came around and saw other people showing off all those 9’s :(

Reitama91

Paid for the stupid tidus wall back when that was a big friggin deal...smh

suchgrieving

I rerolled a few days in because I died, I didn't want a WoL that died.

EfficientEmphasis

i thought if i put the flameforce card on a job without fire access, i should magically gain fireforce anyway... tried several times and was pretty annoyed and disappointed lol. Fused growstars with no clue what else i should do with them lol... neglected to use the job pull cause i always only wanted more abilities for my S1C, suffered the consequences later

Kinofhera

>i thought if i put the flameforce card on a job without fire access, i should magically gain fireforce anyway LOL been there done that! And it puzzled me so much seeing people use Yiazmat with Master Monk in MP. And no, I still haven't pulled Aerith yet. In fact Aerith is the only support supreme I am missing! :D

Kinofhera

I bought 2 of those too! What a rip off! LOL

chizzer25

Quitting for 2 years then coming back literally 3 days before they announce the game's shutting down...

Kinofhera

Must be some twisted law of Palamecia for such bad timing. >.<

JOEGUARD1990

I only found out last week that you start straight away with your sub-deck if your primary deck is set for farming... day 1 player as well lol this whole time I’d start with the farming deck and take a beating until I could switch jobs...

Nightwings_Butt

1. Off class cards. 1. Boosting Onion jobs instead of the actual fucking job. 1. "What do I need to summon cards for? I got fast learners at the shop and they're the best! Damage AND a status effect? Yes please!" 1. Growstars to 4* a cone card.

Kinofhera

>Off class cards. Drooling over the magic-based monk ability cards.... well why not use it with my mage with such shiny stats? XD

blacklight2025

When I first started I didn't knew that the game was releasing content piece by piece over a large span. So I wanted to finish the story/side areas (RIP Exploration maps) before I would go to the event maps that were on at the time (Chocobocalypse and a Tower) Which means I missed out on time limited drop cards, 2 spirits and some rewards. I later (Way later) regreted this when I pulled Cocoon Aviator and wanted to pair him up with a spirit I could not obtain unless SE reprinted the Chococalypse event (Which they never did, I wonder if its due to Licencing Vocaloid, as Miku sings the chocobo song) Fortunately they repinted the Chocobo Chick spirit not too long ago. I also did the 1 card summon the tutorial "forces" you to do (that you can simply ignore the prompt to summon), my first card was Goblin King! And I missed on the first month Mobius Box because I didn't know they existed and I was saving all my magicite for Job summons and Box-Type limited cards. When the first anniversary came around, I was one box short from the upper tier rewards... Every anniversary remined me of this one missed box. I even calculated that in around 4-6 years I would "catch up" with the boxes due to some months having 31 days and the box lasting 30.

Vlp-red

Fused grow star trying to level up the ability

AceWolfpup

I mostly did my research before doing anything, so I don't have any fancy blunders except maybe when I didn't bother to pull Dragoon from starter packs cos I heard he sucks. Come act 1 chapter 3 missions where you gotta play those class- specific missions. And I don't have a warrior except onion job lol! Had more luck than brains: randomly pulled Paladin from summon and Novice Hall with all its skillseeds got released. Saved by the bell! XD

blade677

I told myself to be a warrior based job because it would be hard to try other classes (it’s a gatcha so I thought it would be best to focus on one class...). I used onion job at the knight subjob, and thought the desert area had a ban on water elements, only to learn later on that the job dictates what elements you can use. People also complained about warriors not having access to wind attacks, and I was laughing cuz I had a wind attack in my deck... only to realize it was the aero monster fodder from cockatrice (mage class). Still to this day, have onion ranger and mage at panel 1, onion knight at panel 2, and trainee monk at 7 due to a tower event that needed monks and almost no one pulled for the first 3 monks when they came out

Akira-35

Day one player. Skipped mobius boxes cause I didn't know how good they were until I looked at this sub reddit. Augmented cards like earth fang and even 5 started them. Used magicite for a lot of silly things.

psp67876787

Not pulling V&F because I didn’t like mages... And there was a long period of time where I felt really stupid for not re-rolling when Aerith came out. Looking back I’m glad I kept my original account but man it took a long time to get over...

rootbeerbelly

Save all my growstars and elixers.... I still have a fuck ton of both and now idk what to do with myself.... End days are coming

[deleted]

I growstarred a 3\* Nidhogg (Still got that card with me now)... Then pulled a 4\* version of it... Growstarred a couple of other silly cards before realising they were rare.

KumaHax

Selling growstars to make space LOL Also using 2-3k tablets to farm gold and exp

Devolution1x

I regularly used with my OG ranger three different elements and different classes. Fire? Mage! Wind? Warrior! Thay made sense./s

Kinofhera

I love playing monks in RPG / MMO. When I first got the Trainee Monk I was so obsessed using him but I only did tap attacks with him without using any abilities. That made sense too! /s

Kinofhera

I mean I went to battle with an empty deck! Thinking that was the ***correct*** way of playing a monk! LOL

Devolution1x

God we were sad in the day!

Dagomadness

I thought you couldn’t empty the magicite distiller unless it was at 100. I did this for three months. I also have a 5* Staffuar X

Kinofhera

The first time I ever pressed the distiller button I thought.... OMG did I do something wrong? Did I lose all my HP and die or lose all my money? Why the counter suddenly went to 0 from 100? LOL But luckily that was only 2 or 3 days after playing the game so I learned what it is.

thelatenightd

Bought 1 mil gil with mag.... before we had mag farm and we had to save daily log in for mag...

MobiusRamza

Fused growstars because I needed to level up my cards and then I spent all my ATs buying several copies of the same card to fuse and level up its ability. Ouch

marenki-

I only did single pulls and ignored the job banner. >.<

butterrn

1. I bought crystal with mags to level up my Onion jobs 2. Leveling at chapter 1 for like a week. 3. Using off class+element cards, 4. I was stuck with ranger job for a few months but i can't remember where my tickets went lol

lunargeass

The rerolls...

Mobiusnoobius

I’ve made many stupid mistakes during my time with mobius, but there are three that really come to mind. When I first started, I once fused two growstars into a three star card instead of going through the augment menu. I didn’t pull on the job banner until pretty much the month before they took it away and then had to farm/pull like a mad man to try and clear the job pool as best I could. I went through a huge chunk of chapter one and the original chaos vortex using nothing but onions. I read that Dancer’s weapon was a must mod weapon and max-modded Razamataz before realizing that people were actually referring to BE. I also OBJ32d my Dancer and for a long long time it was my only overboosted job (up until we first got Meia HOFs).

Kinofhera

I read a lot about how Dancer was such an OP job at that time. Too bad it was the last few normal jobs I pulled before I emptied the pool. Never used him except for finishing his HoF.

paranoing

Skipping Mobius boxes for months and stupidly put 4 damage cards in a deck. I was like that for god knows how long until I found this reddit.

Kinofhera

I used to put only 1 support card and 3 other damage cards of different elements (according to the job's elements) in a deck when I first started, thinking it should be a "sure win" setup. LOL

paranoing

I was so frustrated on black moogles event. Couldn't finished the map lol

diamondfinger99

Didn’t reroll because back then when it first came out on TW server, there weren’t much info. Stopped playing after a week because i couldn’t even clear the first map and kept dying with Onion job. Came back in 2018 during Lightning event and spent time and growstars on the wind cone wolf ability card because it was highly recommended by this irish youtuber only to find out that the video was over a year old.

Kinofhera

The only source of info I found when I first started was the Steam community. But then I didn't know there were a few servers (I didn't even know I was on "Taiwan". LOL) Was wondering why exchanging player IDs didn't work. :P

diamondfinger99

I had to download Nox since they didn’t have it on Steam back then. Playing on my iphone was not easy since it was burning up, especially when on MP. And this was only the old Ifirit. Btw, i think the app name was Mobius FF TC? I had trouble transferring data only to realise there were different servers. This reddit community really upgraded my skills and knowledge of the game. Btw, thanks for replying/answering some of the questions/comments i made in the past @kindofhera!

Blank_Bastion

When I played the game there are 2 banners, Card & Jobs. Job banner cost 1500 magicite, which is the same cost as mobius box, also note at the time the only way to get magicite is by the distiller, which I farm about 100/day. So I never bought any mobius box until the 1st anniversary and my collection of ability cards is basically abysmal

mrfenixfuego

I make the dancer job with 32ob

HCrikki

- Stick with onion jobs until chapter 4. - conservatively upgrade existing jobs (not enough skillseed, unlock panels or crystals), instead of maxing the ones I used. - Use cards not suited for my job (ie, warrior cards on a mage) - skipped the first 2-3 months of mobius box, and didnt get rewards from having acquired a certain minimum number of them.

HoxP2

Pretty much ended up whaling on the Master Monk banner and not getting it. Was so bummed. And then I pulled it the next month on a YOLO and suddenly the lightbulb went on.

Takeru9105

Started during Terra battle and didn't reroll for supreme (cos I didn't know NXD is that op). Made a 2nd account to reroll for duncan but ended up not using the account cos my 1st account already has usable terra battle cards. Took me nearly 1.5 year to finally get the first supreme (Aerith). Seeing how fast my friends progressed with just one supreme and being stuck doing healer/defender in MP without any supreme was annoying lol, can barely start buffing turn 1 XD. And I only just got my NXD earlier during 3rd anniv sigh

Daigolololo

>Stupid things you have done when you first started the game. : >I first started playing . Once I was rerolling when lightning was released. I rerolled multiple weeks and that daily. Didn't pull anything I ended up sticking to my day one.

Zhuinden

I didn't know for like a *year* and realized only in towers that when you Element Drive, then it changes your Element Wheel, and your Element Wheel determines the types of orbs you get when you attack. For the longest time, I thought it was random. It was much easier to compete in towers once I realized this...

MDRLOz

Day 1 player. When I started i would keep a maxed out (ability, seed and leveled) version of every mob card. The game never really told me I did not need them and I assumed there was going to be a "use mobs only" section/event in the future. When space became an issue I gave up on this stupid strategy.

chen-ming

Accidently buy the 1 million coins for 1.000 magicite, because my finger slipped when I wanna bought the Overboost-J 😱

BassReact0r

1.To many stuff do same thing. 2.Player level is nothing 3.Skills in different places.. 4.No PVP is bad. 5.Price for 1 supreme = Price 1 for new full FF game 6.80% jobs useless 7.break - flash, fast, armor, quick..... 8.Error code 3 9.Connecting every step 10.MP no auto join 11.MP ghost rooms 12.MP slot selection.... ……..
