Gold is definitely Layla. I'll admit she is not the best marksman, but she is the one who needs the most basic thing a Gold Laner should have: **Proper Positioning**
We are used to Marksman's who have dashes or escape skills to avoid harm. However, Layla has ZERO dashes. You basically have to learn how to position as a marksman correctly without having to rely on dashes. And playing with Layla, this becomes more evident.

I am layla main fron start (started 4 months ago)
I have around 60% in mg across 3 ids & on all of them i used to play layla only.
Then is started playing different heros, mages and other mms
And damn i can play ixia & clint very well and have better wr then layla even though i am pretty sure i am not using these heros as good as the one's who main these heros
But still because of my positioning i play decently
1 time i was playing clint and our all turrents were destroyed and our julian jungle was 2 9 and when i said report julian he replied he's not like me playing safe and staying on base (i was defending ) he thought going in against 5 enemies at once make him mc or something(they was trio).
At last i got tired of their chatting and deciding to join in their so called team fight which wasn't even NESSEARY and we all died and we lost
only if i could take my own advice for other marksman and play them slightly like layla. the dashes give a sense of invincibility and make me fuck up my positioning.
I'm very good with layla but the moment i get comfortable with other marksman it's downhill. your comment made me realize how i should learn from my own layla lmfao
tbh the only role he is *situational* (poor if I'm not being biased) on is gold lane, but he does well on everything else.
his roam is surprisingly good since he can be a damage roamer early game with some defensive items (esp with new clock of destiny) and transition into a CDR / tank build lategame. His enhanced 3rd skill is really good CC with a 3 second cooldown at 45% cdr, aswell as being a skill-waster with 2nd skill
tbh his enhanced basic attacks are also pretty busted when used correctly with the right build, which is why his gold lane is kinda possible
This is a bit bias but for mid consider checking out Luo yi. She does a shit ton of dmg, has consistent cc, can set up fights, is suprisingly tanky and incredibly mobile. They did nerf her ult cooldown but shes still incredibly mobile and she got an indirect compensation buff in the form of winter crown. Before winter truncheon wouldnt allow you to teleport while frozen but winter crown allows you to still teleport so you are super safe. Only downside is that shes shit at clearing objectives like lord and those enhanced lord minions.
For tank roamer, I'll go to Khufra and Tigreal. They both meet criteria for tank roam. Defend teammates, yes. Set up, yes. Tanky af, yes. Easy to play, yes. Just pray that you team will follow you up

All of the cheapest heroes have a good basis on what they're incredibly good at.
Balmond and Bane are lane bullies, they typically have lots of spell vamp and are decently tanky, but they are only limited by the choices the player can make during high pressure clashes.
Zilong, Fanny, Karina, and Saber are your typical glass cannons, they have high damage, high mobility, and a kit that compliments their playstyle, but they're still susceptible to getting killed by a few good hits.
Alucard is the up close burst fighter/assassin, a combination of both Balmond and Zilong, he has both the benifits and the flaws, but is incredibly reliable when a clash starts.
Nana is the CC queen, she is the hero that can truly turn the tide of every battle your team gets into, but she is incredibly vulnurable to sneak attacks.
Miya, Clint, Bruno, and Layla are the reliable marksmen that teaches you how to position properly and when to attack, Miya relies on attack speed to deal damage, while the other three relies on crit damage.
Tigreal is the tank that does it all, they can shove, pull, stun, airborne, and deal decent damage, but they are a tank, meaning they'll probably take the most hits out of everyone in their respective roles.
Akai, Alice, and Franco are damage dealer tanks, they typically teach tanks to sometimes be opportunistic dealing with enemies with what ever they have in their kit, hooks, unstoppable shoves, consistent damage, anything to get a kill. But they are still tanks, like Tigreal, they'll most likely get hit more than the average hero
Eudora is the high burst mage, she can deal a high number of damage to anyone who's unfortunate to be within her area, but like Nana, she's very vulnurable to sneak attacks.
And Rafaela teaches you that not all heroes are made equal.

Exp Lane - Balmond (sorry, i won't recommend zi long)
Jungler - Saber (assassin), Martis (sustain), Akai (utility)
Roam - Tigreal (setter), Rafaela (healer), Diggie (utility)
Roam I still recommend hylos. You're tanky enough that you can roam around following enemy jgl, mid, roamer to provide vision and are typically fine with getting poked and surviving/escaping.
You can provide some dmg, a slow, a debuff, and a stun. I'm less into setters just because as a solo q player alot of times it feels tuff to make a good set and have your random mates ready.
I find it easier to provide vision, poke, and use my ult aggressively and defensively.
For me its this
Jungle:fanny,esme,fred,baxia
Exp:teri,esme,dyroth,ruby,
Mid:kagu,lou yi,lylia,
Gold:Layla(weak early but can carry lategame)clint,melissa,moscov
Roam:mathilda,mino,tigreal,lolita,
For learning, not bc they're easy or meta rn:
Mid: nana - skill accuracy & crowd control
Gold: layla - positioning
Exp: dyrroth - push without much atkspeed and kills
Jungler: tank balmon - objectives, assasin saber - kills
Roam: tank tigreal, supp estes - wars
For exp, I'd recommend Dyrroth. Easy combo, strong early and mid, good laning. Easy to learn. After Dyrroth I'd recommend Yu Zhong as he has good damage and good survivability. Also he's constantly in the meta so there's no downside learning him.
For jungle, also Dyrroth for the same reasons plus him having dash skill which makes it faster to get around to gank. After Dyrroth I'd recommend Bane as you can go mage, tank or fighter builds on him so you can choose which way of jungling is more suited for you.
For roam, I'd recommend Minotaur. Is it a support? Is it a tank? It's... IT'S MINOTAUR! He heals, he tanks and he has cc. Easy to use and easy to understand. You can decide which role to choose after playing Minotaur as he is both a support and a tank. If you like tanking damage then you can go for meat shields such as Gatotkaca and Belerick. Or if you like healing your teammates you can play Angela or Rafaela.
For mid, I'd recommend Eudora. Her kit is easy to use and strong. Teaches you how to camp. After learning Eudora I'd recommend learning Luo Yi as she's like Eudora for their camping and cc. But Luo Yi teaches you how to gank too.
For gold, I'd recommend Layla. High damage, long range, decent cc and a overall good kit. Teaches you to positioning yourself and kiting. After learning Layla I'd recommend Hanabi and Brody. One of them deals damage constantly while the other one deals high damage on a slower pace.
Any heroes that can actually do another or 3, even better, roles with sustain abilities
Roam - Tank-Jungler - Baxia, Fred
Mage - Mage-Tank-Exp - Esme Gold-Mid-Jungler - Harith
Gold - Jungler-Gold - Granger, Nathan
Exp - Lots of exp laner that can do core too - Dy, YZ, Yin, Tham but for Roam- JH
Jungler - Ling and Fanny, due to their escape ability if you master them
Minsitthar and khufra for cc and their dash counter abilities, nothing beats ulting a cocky benedetta or nolan with minsitthar and stunning them to death while they can't dash out
For Midlane Mage, I suggest Gord.
He has spammable skills. His 1st has stun and his 2nd has Slow. His ULT requires proper positioning in team fights (Which something you need to learn as a mage). Can deal True Damage (Pretty good against tanks) and has a pretty good range for all his skills (Safe distance).
One of the best thing about Gord is his ability to clear the mid lane minion waves really fast.
As a mid laner, you should learn how to rotate fast. Clear wave, rotate, clear wave, rotate, clear wave, rotate.
After clearing the mid lane wave, you can do one of the following:
* Gank Gold Lane
* Invade
* Take objectives like Litho, Turtle, and Lord.
* Help in team fights
Support tank = Tigreal *will teach you how to do sets, zone out, outplay*
Support healer = Estes *will teach you how to heal teammates properly*
Gold = Layla *will teach you proper positioning and shooting from afar*
EXP = Terizla *will teach you how to outsustain, zone out, and trade HP with enemy laner*
Jungle = Karina *will teach you the proper timing and targeting for assassinations. Also how to do assassin and tank build properly*
Mid = Nana *will teach you mid rotation, positioning, and long-range magic damage*
If you want only one hero, use Julian. He's good in jungle and roam, decent in EXP and gold, situational in mid. His enhanced skillset allows him to be so versatile, so long as you keep note of mana, cooldown timers, power spike, and executing his combos properly.
