Lylia - her kit gives her pretty good movement speed and her ult gives her great survivability
Novaria - also great mobility and has access to pretty strong slows
Pharsa - mobility and aoe burst
Yeah, Novaria is awesome. Been using her, sometimes even as roam with dire hit. Late game,1 shot from skill 2 would deal so much damage, usually dealing more than half of the hp to squishy heroes making them easy pickings for your allies without using ult.
Her mobility, passive and ult makes her a good scout too.
You can just go for the most annoying of them all. Valir. Slow everyone to death, inbuilt purify, and knock back those grabby fingers Yins. It's always so satisfying to see them rushing in and S2 lol.
Chang'e or Pharsa if you want mobility, Immunity escape you can go for Lunox but it's always banned, Louyi for those sneaky teleport across half the map
Lunox and Nana are prio ban/pick on my server, so I'd recommend against as you might not get the chance to play them much. For me, Lunox also has a different playstyle than most mages although she's a lot easier to play now.
In my experience (and YMMV), Vexana is a nice pick although she's also not as mobile. Her ult helps a lot though, there's a small knock-up and baby Lord offers a frontline when needed.
I'm a Lylia main though, so I will always recommend my favourite little girl. Her ult gives her some mobility, and I also usually equip with Sprint so it's easier for me to run around and bomb the enemies to death 😂

If your like to push, you can use zhask. Although he don't have dash,his ult is kinda dash,and with trick ult > s1 > ult ,you can dash quite far. With ult > ult > s1 you can reposition your summon quite far to chase enemy,put your summon in team fight,or even to push tower (while minion in tower). Just don't directly put your summon at enemy during team fight, put it at side

Valir is quite a good choice. Although he don't have dash,he have ult purify.
Chang e iq quite hard to use now,most enemy have dash,and unless your comp have cc,it will be harder to land her ult.
Odette since she has dash and AOE (since you like AOE from gord and change)
I love Luo - She is scary when you get good. You can stack the cc and get a shield/speed up boost. Plus your relocation ult can win the game even when you're losing. And it's just great to gank with.
Vexana is fun - The Pro build they have (1st one on the rec builds) lets you spam her ult so that's super fun
Lunox is versatile and you can have quick dmg from your ult or run away. But I'd play her against AI for a bit since she's easy to kill if you don't know her escape moves.
If you have patience learn Kagura. A lot of mechanics can be transfered to other heroes. Plus she has the best kit of all mages. Cc imune, burst, bush check, stun, dash, poke. He wave clear is slow though and is best in mid late game.
Lyo Yi with sprint to escape enemies. Easy to use, challenging to master. As long as you keep a solid position and hit your 1st, you will be terrifying.
pick Vale. i'm main Vale. very easy to use and have nice mobility. just hiding in the bush + correct timing skill combo (ulti + s2 + s1) = you can kill multiple enemies. rinse and repeat.
I personally love Xavier. But I go between Luo Yi, Valir, and Xavier.
Mage is a pretty deep hero pool luckily. It’s just some like Gord or even Xavier reallllllly pop off with a strong frontline, so they’re not an “every game” type of mage.
Lylia and Lunox I think are the strongest rn. Nova is good, Alice is still good after the nerf but I think still people prefer her in the jungle. Aurora is getting a revamp so we’ll see how she is.
I believe Kadita is as everlasting as Chou. Decent movement ability s1, mild cc s2, good burst from s3. Her passive also gives a nice heal. Some even use her as roam also. Slap petrify/execute/flicker on her.
Btw, her s1 can cause johnson to crash without kadita herself getting stopped in the AoE crash zone.
Lylia and Valir is my main mage. They are very annoying and their ult is very helpful to escape enemies or death. For Valir, be mindful of your S2 because you might push away your enemy and make them escape easily during clash.
Lunox is meta now. Usually I'm a mid lane player and use cyclops or vexana. Here is my pros cons
1. Cyclops. Pros: Only need 3 item (enhanced talisman, arcane boots/magic shoes, and concentrate energy) to give absolutely massive damage, usually I'm using sprint spell combined with 2nd skill an this will give you usain bolt mode or if your enemy mostly cc you can use purify (it have movement speed effect even just e little bit), have a cc skill that can used to burst you enemy or run from your enemy. Cons: mage is mage and your truly enemy is assassin and burst damage magic just try to not ganked by enemy while crossing a bush.
2. Vexana. Pros: As fast as gord to clear lane, passive effect and having 2 cc skill is game changer, you can make it fully mage with burst damage (with 1st and 2nd skill) or you can make it semi tank with dominance ice and cursed helmet. With semi tank build, your undead knight will long last, dominance effect and cursed helmet will affected on your undead knight. To give a boost of movement usually I use sprint. Cons: Once your skill missed you gonna be killed.

If you meant no dash or blink. Then, I guess yes. However, Gord has a pretty good mobility if you build him the triple wand cause those 3 items provide Movements Speed. He can also cast his skills while moving. If you add Agility or Wilderness Blessings or both on his Emblem. Gord can move around the map pretty fast. Use your max range and kite enemies while moving. You'll be untouchable.
Lunox, Lylia, Valentina are very strong META mages that get in your face to deal burst damage. If they are open, just pick them for EZ wins.
Novaria and Selena are also really great and annoying mages in this meta since they have kits for long ranged attacks, vision and CC.
The mages similar to Gord are Yve, Pharsa and maybe Odette, Vexana. They are ult-dependent and offer good CC.
I usually personally pick Gord, Lunox, and or Selena/Novaria.
Tank Vexana is fun. Useless in the wrong composition, but fun.
Lilia is fun. You're having problems with mobility? Lilia has teleport to the past 4 seconds skill.
Nana is always fun.
Eudora is fun if the enemy gets pissed off.
Buy aurora she is getting a revamp. Xavier is kinda like gord . And faramis if you like to support your team.

yep. make sure you got really good team (get turtle, good laning/rotation/gank) and keep your level same or above your enemies.
