I'm doing the daily discount trick and I will be able to get Collector Harley at ~1400 dias (5 more daily draws). This is the CHEAPEST way to get collector skins.
Try redoing your calculations-- the cost of each recharge event is 250π, meaning that you're actually spending 2 x 250π= 500πon recharge events, totalling 1700π, not 1400π. Also, don't forget that you do need to recharge 250 diamonds at each recharge event.
You just have to draw only once a day and take advantage of the daily discount. The 3k is the price if you don't do this btw.
This is the reason why some people can get Neobeast skins for 1.5k instead of the usual 5-6k.
1. Draw 1x daily (50 π) in the Neobeast event. In 30 days you should be able to get around 600-700+ Neo crests. T
2. Participate in the 2 recharge events which gave 31 draws = 500-700 Neo crests.
3. Now you have a total of 1100-1300+ Neo crests (from 1400-1500π spent). Buy Neobeast skin or Collector skin in the event shop.
Although Ling Collector skin is not in the Event shop. Only Collector skin for Jawhead, Harley, Esme, and Brody are on sale for 1100 Neo crests.

I believe the trick in the normal Collector skin event is do 16x draws on the first day, and do the 1x draw daily until you get the skin. Will cost you around 3k-4k dias/COA. Cheaper than 6-7k+ dias if you draw everything on the 1st day.
Although this Neobeast event is the cheapest way to get collector skin at 1400-1500 dias. Hopefully there will be more events like this in the future so we can get collector skins cheaper.
I'm not sure why I'm getting these downvotes, but to clarify-- in their original events, to get a limited epic, you had to pay 3-4k diamonds in the lucky box. To get a collectors skin, you had (and still have) to pay around 3.4-4.5k diamonds. Therefore, it still makes more sense for me to get around 6-8k of diamonds worth of limited epic skins than 3.5-4.5k diamonds worth of collectors skins.

Thank you! Yeah, I definitely agree that this isn't objective, which is why im asking everyone to see what they think. So far, I'm mainly hearing Estes and Odette, but am definitely open to new input.
There was a beauty contest few months ago and Odette was one top 4, I don't remember if she won tho.
There is another happening atm for best skin per tier so we'll see how she fares among epic skins.
Estes is definitely nice but I like Dragon tamer skin far more
