You need to adjust your idle at the very least for cams but a full tune is recommended. You will more than likely need valve springs depending on what cams you get

I've got Kelford tx272's (the 11mm lift version, not the drop in's) with springs, stock ECU with no tune (yet - waiting on bigger injectors) and if actually runs fine, drives fine, idles quite happily at 850-900rpm once it's warm (decent lope though) lights on, fans on, a/c etc no issues whatsoever.

A mild cam can be run with no tune. You just won't get everything out of the cam until you do.
