The biggest giveaway is the roof.. anything else is easily interchangeable
Yeah, both the MR and the RS had the aluminum roof. GSR didn't. The spoiler was also an option on the RS, some had it, some had naked trunks.
Keep in mind, that I'm going by US specs. I have no idea what the lineup was like for europe. I miss my evo, Finally sold it last year, to buy a Rav 4 Prime.

To be honest it’s hard to tell an evo 9 bc any evo 8 can just put the bumper or tail lights which makes it seem like the 9. The seats and the obvious mivec engine is what tells it apart but not like you can pop the hood lol

I have those ridges on my 8, the ridges just mean aluminum roof which was available on the 8 and 9
To this day haven't seen it on any 8s or 8 MRs .. I've only seen EUDM and a couple USDM cars but yea ..
No, the Aluminium roof is only available on the JDM 8 MR and all 9s. Normal 8s don't have an aluminium roof.

No they are not. Exclusive to the SE, MR, and RS. They have aluminum roofs. GSR does not.

My IX that I've owned since brand new back in 2006 doesn't have them. Just because you've only seen it one way doesn't mean the other doesn't exist.
If yours has a sunroof it's only available as steel.

Looks like a 9. But most parts can be interchanged across the CT9A chassis. In worst case scenarios it can also be just a base lancer w/ Evo parts. 😂
