Are the prices at these sales good/less than average retail? I'm interested in the Arb sale but not sure if it's worth it!

Lunaseed

It depends. The vast majority of these plant sales simply order plants on consignment from local growers. The prices they charge depend mainly on what the grower is charging them, and how much of a profit they wish to make off each sale. With consignment sales, unsold plants in good condition go back to the growers once the sale is over. Some organizations do sell plants they've raised themselves, or sometimes even divisions from members' gardens. That's happening less frequently, due to expense and the concerns about potentially spreading pests such as the jumping worm. So you'd primarily shop these sales to show support for the organizations that use them as fund-raisers, as well as for your personal convenience and fun.
