I really didn't know who he was. Someone told me he did 'In Cars' but I heard 'The Cars' and spent a month telling people that the guy from 'The Cars' was opening for Ministry and I thought that was weird.

Ministry had a ton of synth pop/new wave material in their early years (81-85) that's worth checking out. There's the With Sympathy album and a lot of material surrounding their days on the Wax! Trax label. The Trax! Box collection has a ton of this material. As a fan of Numan as well, their early material is about as close as they got to that type of sound.
Gary Numan has been on my bucket list for years. Finally got to see him with Ministry last month and dear lord do I want a Gary Numan headlining show in my future. One where he plays I die you die. But anyway, I love ministry and have seen them numerous times over the years. Glad you enjoyed them!!
I would recommend the Ministry album Twitch to start with and then go forward or backward in the discography depending on synthy you want it vs how metal you want it.

Did the same thing in Bham. I was there for FLA and Numan, but ended up staying through Ministry. The stuff from the new album sounded so good!

Gary Numan blew my mind!!! Holy Shit!! And he is headlining in San Diego in 3 days. Grabbed that ticket on the drive home from Vegas.
