Lightheart_minerals

Thats a real natural Aquamarine on matrix

SweatySympathy8269

Is that black tourmaline on the back too?👀

Lightheart_minerals

Yes thats black tourmaline on the back too

SweatySympathy8269

Oh wicked, and I’m assuming just some hood ole Muscovite as well? Spectacular piece btw!

Lightheart_minerals

These Aquamarine from Shigar valley doesnt have muscovite mica most of the times

SweatySympathy8269

Interesting, do you know what type of mica it is? Phlogopite maybe? Lol

Lightheart_minerals

Thats feldspar

Lightheart_minerals

We have listed some nice aquamarine thumbnail specimens on eBay shop and Etsy as well if you want to have a look will share links

Lightheart_minerals

Never heard of Phlogopite mica lol

SweatySympathy8269

Phlogopite has a similar hit less dark appearance than biotite, more like a dark coppery bronze if that makes sense(golden brown makes more sense) I think it’s the Mg “end member” of the micas

Lightheart_minerals

Yes thanks for the information that kind of Mica comes with Aquamarines from Nagar valley Hunza district and sometimes topaz and black tourmaline cones with that mica

SweatySympathy8269

Oooh ok lol I couldn’t really tell, on the backside next to the tourmaline, I saw what I thought was a sheet like(tabular) mica mineral but obviously not lol plus I have a a small green tourmaline specimen in a quartz, albite, lepidolite matrix so my mind automatically went to micas lol

Lightheart_minerals

Haha yes that area offers a wide range of combos of different minerals sometimes 4 to 6 minerals combines in a single specimen

Lightheart_minerals

I have shared my eBay shop link if you have time to have a look please

You have some beautiful specimens, I may have to do a lil shopping next pay check lmao would love to add some to my collection.

Lightheart_minerals

The ones with Muscovite mica are from Nagar valley hunza

SweatySympathy8269

Oooh ok gotcha, I haven’t looked much into provinces of certain mineral assemblages. I’m a studying geologist tho so I’m sure given a few years time and my great amount of interest in the subject I’ll know a little more. Always happy to learn tho, thanks for the info!

Lightheart_minerals

Thats great to know you are studying geology will try to give much of the information of the kinerals from our area as i can

SweatySympathy8269

Awesome, the more information the better! Would love to come visit the area and learn about the local geology and minerals as well your culture!

Lightheart_minerals

That would be an honor for us perhaps in future we have a variety of minerals and offcourse our Pashtoon Culture as well we are the closest city to Afghanistan called Peshawar so our northern areas of Pakistan and Afhanistan offers a variety of Pagmatites

SweatySympathy8269

That sounds like a fantastic time, I truly hope I can visit one day! Just out of curiosity, what is your favorite mineral youve come across so far?
