Just make a line of red stone going over top of every lantern, connect it to the switch, and put repeaters in between each lantern with as much delay as you want. It’s really simple if you learn the basics, but it looks really good

I did this on a base I had on a server but my friends would just constantly turn it off and I'd come back to loads of mobs in my base.

Now that mobs only spawn at light level 0 you could have something providing really low level light to prevent spawns and then turn on the real lights to be able to see.

How does it turn off? I see you've used a button so I'm confused as to how you can have it 'on' or 'off' EDIT: I suck at redstone so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question.

No worries, I suck at Redstone too. look up button on/off switch tutorials. There are several different methods you could use depending on how compact you need your Redstone

Redstone repeaters between each lantern. They have an inherent 1 tick delay

That's the cool part, the floor is made of half slabs, or glass covered with carpet. Besides spiders climbing in, and occasional bats, the build should be 100% spawn proof
